I think it be better if you could make your missiles and lasers attack certain enemy ships before attacking the others because it's annoying seeing my missiles attack rings when there's mother ships

I can tell one funny thing. Last mining mission can be done without any defences - just with extra heavy mining. 3 solar collectors. as many miners as possible + build more with minerals mined. Nothing more needed :)

Yeah... This would have a 5/5 if I could order my THELs and missiles to target capital ships only. But the fact that it's missing & adds a ton of frustration at the same time makes it a 3/5.

To those people that say this game is too hard: you're probably right... but here a few things that will help: 1. max out spending on resource and power gathering asap, pause the game to build if you have to. even when you see enemies on screen don't panic, squeeze out as much resource/power as you can before you HAVE to defend. 2. know which guns for which enemies- red fighters:anything - green fighter:1 fully upgraded pulse will mean no damage to anything in its range - yellow circles: lots of UN-UPGRADED lasers, one shot per kill, so have many and even swarms will fail. - grey swarms: missiles is a must, even at lvl1 will take out a entire swarm. - Mother ship: missiles again, out ranges everything significantly, hit the mothership before they're close, if in group will take out multiple at the same time, and will kill swarms of the fighters in one shot. that should help in getting through normal mode... for hard and crazy... i guess you'd have to be crazy ;)

Solved the "[16] Setup has failed: Loader bypassed" issue by allowing 3rd part cookie from widget.casualcollective.com.

Survival missions, waves only come at 5%, 10% etc... build some energy stores and stop miners at certain waves to stop flooding and fill them back up.

@Cyborg127 THELs, under normal circumstances are indeed useless, however, if spaced from the main base in special levels like the giant mining rig, they can take out motherships long before they make it in range, which can be invaluable on hard/insane.

Solution for: '[16] setup has failed: loader bypassed' > enable third-party cookies in your browser. The game won't work without it. Please rate up to help others (I had to search the forums).

the casual collective server, which this game needs to contact to load, is down and has been for a week now. I don't think there's anything kongragate can do, we just have to wait for that community to get the problem fixed. Thumb this up so people know what's going on.

Well, pretty fun and challenging game. Note of course 5/5. Mining missions: First play round just by watching how enemy ships spawn. Then play again. Start by building 2 solar stations upgrading to max. Then build a basic few relays just to cover as many meteors as possible. For rest of the minerals build as many miners as possible. Turn them off untill all build. Turn on and wait for minerals and wave. Enemy spawn with 20/40/60% mined so you can stop nining before it reaches 39/59/79 minerals (to get one wave at a time). Meanwhile build up defences from mined minerals and one upgraded repair station (full hp = full minerals recovery). If enemy changes attacking sides, change defences. Repair everything, sell, rebuild. Crucial thing: when you reach 78-79 % mined and get rid of enemies, sell every defense iand upgrade all miners. Let them mine and you gonna win within few seconds. Hope this helps ;)

It would nice if you could watch replays of completed levels. When doing levels on crazy, I replayed levels to 95% just to see which direction the motherships came from at the end of the level.

would love a priority selection for missiles AND the THEL since it kinda sucks to watch your fully upgraded THEL blast at swarms of missiles/o-rings/whatever else while there are 2 motherships waltzing in right in the middle... something like target "weakest/strongest/closest(now)/farthest" would be nice, if you have the time or even want to... just my 3 cents. would make my life simple...r.

THELs are rather useless. Too much energy drain, and are out performed by missile turrets. Fully upgraded THEL = 2400, fully upgraded missile turret = 1900, which gives you 100 missiles out of it before it starts to cost more than a THEL. Add in splash damage from the missile turret and it's a clear winner between these two turrets. And you can turn them off if your pulse lasers are equal to the task, saving minerals.

also fyi: Many of the mining missions have the attacks set in accordance with the percentage you have mined. For example: for every 5% of your goal accomplished, another wave of ships comes

For me, I think that TSG is a very good game. It does a nice mining/defense type genre (In space), but this game does it very well. Also, I especially like the diversity of all of the structures and pirate ships, it really makes you think about what strategy is best for defending your equipment from the pirates. Don't you just savor the moment when your THELS, Missiles and Pulsers just destroy a huge pirate fleet? However, this isn't to say there are a few things I sort of long for in a space-genre game: A structure from which you could build your own ships to fight pirates in epic space battles, maybe a little diversity in the asteroids (Like blue, purple, red colored ones), a new Laser weapon, and possibly a co-op or multiplayer mode so you can team up with friends and be the first one to mine an asteroid field, or just fend off pirates as long as you can. Honestly, this game is quite possibly one of the best flash games on the web, maybe one of the best games period. 9.5/10 easily.

The game is great, but few tweaks would make it even better: 1) Ability to set what type of units your towers should target. It's stupid when my THEL fires for fighter, and there is a mothership in range. 2) Asteroids should wanish when you mine them dry. This would make more sense.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Some type of target selection like o ngemcraft on missle lauchers would be great rather than having to replay a mission because they all target swarmers on the opposite side of the map instead of the 16 motherships firing on the base.

There needs to be a sandbox mode. Not like unlimeted resources or energy. But a timer to how late you can send enemies. And to be able to change the enemy behavior to like swarming exploders or lone mother ships.

What makes me dislike this game are two things.. The difficulty having to be unlocked.. That doesn't add to the challenge, that's just forcefully padding out gameplay.. The second thing being the game's tendency to shit on you.. If I had a nickel for every time I had one of those "everything's going fine, this is gonna be a piece of- what?.. I just died?" moments, I'd be rich.. On some (if not most) levels, you HAVE to remember exactly what waves are coming, and where from, and set your defenses accordingly.. It just doesn't feel very organic, when you're basically just placing defenses where you know they'll need to be to pre-empt enemy strikes.. If the direction they came from or which ones appeared were randomized, now that would add a bit of spice to the gameplay..

Zoom out with your scroll wheel... One of the easier Impossible badges, just takes some time to replay the levels once you've unlocked crazy mode. A way to make the mining missions easier: The game sends waves either every 5 or 10% completion. You can mine to 4% (or 9/14/19/etc%, as appropriate) and then turn off your mining lasers. It lets you deal with just 1 wave at a time, and makes those levels vastly easier as a result. Once you get to a sufficiently high percent, you can recycle everything, charge up an energy storage or two, and build a zillion mining lasers. The last 25-75% (depending on the level) is done before the next wave reaches you.

Sir, a giant enemy mother ship is attacking should we used our THEL that is designed to destroy enemy motherships? No, use the THEL to target the swarmers instead!

I've discovered the lamest way to finish the mission 4 and 5 where you have to resist for 5 minutes. I called it the G.T.F.O. -- The Acronym stands for : Get The F*** Out :p -- Instead of building defenses, just build a long chain of energy relays (and every 7-8 ones a solar station) and voilà ! If your chain is long enough, it will act as a fuse, delaying the death of the farthest energy relay and allowing you to resist for 5 minutes easily.

Congratulations! You just won the "No One Could Hear You Scream" Badge and 60 points!
Impossible badge is only (truly) hard due to mission "Weapon 2/6" in Crazy mode, I redid it about 30 times until I got a lucky break, and most of the motherships spawned south.
The way I did it was with a line Power\Power-Power-Power-(Power+Repair+2Missile)-Power-Power-Power-Battery, each power is lvl 1, repairs/missiles are lvl 1 and putting 2 lvl 1 lasers on each of those powers to fend off initial waves.
Then, on the last node (9th), I built 6 missile launchers, upgraded to max, 1 good laser (for mothership fighters) and repair stations. Ofc you won't have resources for all that so as the ship moves, sell lasers/powers (not too much power)/repairs and finish the missiles and build repairs, worked for me.. barely.
Love this game 5/5!

I beat mission 3 and 8 on Crazy with just 4-5 Solar Stations powering loads of Miners. Mission 3 spend your starting resources building 5 stations and as many miners as possible then any minerals gathered on upgrading miners, you shouldn't need energy but an upgrade or 2 may help. Mission 8 fully upgrade 4 solar stations, build about 30 miners clustering as many as you can within the larger asteroid areas then upgrade them. The solar stations positioned properly can cover all asteroids without relays on both missions.

This game is only playable in Flashpoint Ultimate and Flashpoint Infinity. If you use Flashpoint Infinity, then you need to know that as of version 10, it works fine on Linux but needs a few extra steps on Windows (described here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FlashpointArchive/comments/odij4e/flash_games_working_on_linux_but_broken_on/h8k6en9?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 ). No idea about Mac but if it is broken, the same extra steps than on Windows will probably suffice.

So much for the 2009 quest =/

WTH are points for? Should have had upgrades to spend points on. I suggest stuff like increased Solar Power generation, faster mining, better weapons, etc.

Why are we mining? Who stands to benefit from this? Why are the pirates so intent on our destruction? Who am I? What kind of mineral is it? Why don't I have any ships? Where are the rest of the people?
I believe the answer to all our questions is that the "Pirates" are actually robots, similar to the terminators and you control humanity's last standing position in space, defending our legacy and our people.
Either that or you work for Ebenezer Scrooge, but in space.

The keys to success:
1) Be quick. Never stop improving, idle time is wasted time.
2) Be generous with the miners. Clean out meteor clusters quickely and move on.
3) Missle Launchers are expensive, but will significantly reduce the threat of ALL enemies.
