While I'm glad to hear you're no longer having a problem: I didn't change anything, so I guess it was just a problem with your internet connection or something.
Haven't received any complaints about it, and it seems to be working fine for me. Are you getting some kind of specific error? If not, it's probably just a temporary problem related to your internet connection. The game hasn't ever actually crashed before in any meaningful fashion.

I think that, if you have a high enough Clout Tier in this game, you should be able to declare war on other countries. You ggive speeches to raise support for the war, and the more support, the better the chances of it succeeding. If it succeeds, you get a Huge money bonus. Like if you agree.
There is already a way to declare war on other countries, though it's a bit more complex than that and requires certain opposing political alignments between the cabinet and the leader of the country in question, as well as an "Abysmal" relations rating. There is also no reward for going to war.

I played against the Win Bill, but on the other hand, it would be cool to have countries start with real-world stats. Also, just wondering, does the VIP list get reset too?

What's my dealer going to do if I die? I his biggest meth client on a regular basis. HE NEEDS ME! IF I DIE YOU WILL BE PUTTING PEOPLE OUT OF BUSINESS!
I'm pretty sure most of Congress is keeping his pockets lined pretty well. Also uh... he tells all of them that they're his favorite customer, just FYI.
Just remember, if anyone asks you were doing meth for the good of the economy... or something. I dunno, maybe ask Marion Barry for advice on how to deflect that kind of thing.

Have you changed the message we get when we pass a bill? I passed two bills in as many days and neither of them showed me a message. I don't think I got the clout from them either. I did play on them.

Though to be honest to buy the equipment to get max efficiency costs so much that it takes a while for there to be any real positive gain from it.
Not sure what you mean. Unless you're just buying gear to try making more cash via "campaign contributions", you're more trading cash for effectiveness in other areas.

You'll have to just take my word for it though as I won't release all the numbers and logs and notes to anybody. It wouldn't be an advantage if everyone knew all the little details. :3

@Weirdguy, back in the day I did a lot of testing of various plays and gear and such. You can definitely tell a difference if you sit down and log all the data presented and experiment with gear/stat changes/play power/stress levels and such. The only mechanic I've still yet to conclusively observe is the one where play power is increases very slightly depending on who your cronies are. It's either so slight that it makes literally no difference or isn't working. Though it may have been a mistake of some sort on my end.

So I can’t become a lobbyist becuase I don’t have an invite and I get get a new charecter because when I click retire I just go to a blank screen.
Not quite sure what you mean. When you retire you should go back to the character creation screen, though if you already transferred to become a lobbyist, hit back and hit retire that might have caused a problem. Try reloading the game and see what happens. I'll look into what may have occurred with your account if you hit back and then hit something else. edit: I have confirmed that no problem exists with your account. Just reload the game and try again.

Is there any way to stop a fellow party member from gaffing on my proposed bills? Seems fishy that they would do this but it also seems against what my fellow party members should be doing.
There isn't. But gaffing is actually worse than just playing against party lines, so there wouldn't be any exploitative reason for them to do this. edit: well, I suppose you could assassinate them, actually. Though that's a bit heavy-handed.

It would be easier to believe that balanced gear has any use if I could actually tell the difference between changes that I am causing through gear, and effects that have nothing to do with gear at all, but are still affecting the end result. While obscuring the actual way plays are calculated prevents possible exploits, it also makes it nigh impossible to tell if what you do to try to play better actually matters beyond not gaffing, because something I may perceive as "effective play" might actually just be coincidence, superstition, or falsely attributed effect.
The help files very clearly state what is affected by each stat. You can also see these effects in numerical impacts of ability plays, Clout gain, and different things being reported as a defense from skullduggery in the paper. Obfuscation of exact numbers behind these mechanics is done to prevent powergaming, not exploits.
Try clearing your browser cache. The stalkers caused a major network outage at the new hosting provider yesterday, but that's been cleared up for almost 24 hours now. Nobody else seems to be reporting any problems. Could be something wrong with your personal internet connection.

also, for all the time I've spent in this game I haven't seen any mention of the assorted signs, posterboards, and other grade school props many legislators typically bring to make their points

as in make it so that we can save specific outfits to swap to with one or two clicks instead of having to equip each piece individually
It's much more advantageous to find a set of gear with balanced stats than to try switching between gear that stacks something in particular. Gear of all types has uses in any given situation. About the only thing that falls outside of this is protection stacking to avoid assassinations, but that's being altered soon.

Sometimes I wonder how other legislators would react to my uniform. I mean, I'm walking into Congress with a M1 Bazooka and a live squirrel while wearing loafers, sunglasses, and a robe ._.
The reds? Also I'm not exactly sure. Either they just don't like what I'm about in general or I ran afoul of one of their more influential members. I'm not sure which. They don't tend to tell you why they're after you.
Yep. Looks like the church of scientology and their cronies are doing some kind of denial of service attack on the entire web host. I imagine they'd only target the entire hosting company if the web host refused to let them have access to the games, so this is actually a good sign. Not sure when things will clear up, but I've contacted both the FBI and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service about what's going on, so I'm sure things will be cleared up fairly soon. The new servers are in Canada, if you're wondering about my contact with the latter.
The only way to make the game better is to interact with the people playing it, so I think it behooves all of us to maintain communication. Thanks for the feedback and long-running support!

I'd imagine you could get anon members of project chanology to get that guy if you could post some proof that he's a scientologist... you do that and they're bound to put him on their shit list
Well, the church of scientology is definitely behind things, like I outlined in global post a while back. You can safely assume that anyone attacking the game is affiliated with them. I'm guessing that's what you're talking about.

it would be cool if you could add weed/marijuana and it lowers stress alot and can cause a scandal UNLESS the legalize cannabis act is passed
I actually opted not to add Cannabis to the game as it would be a bit too good in game terms. Since it's not addictive and would cause a minor scandal (or even none at all under certain conditions, as you noted): it would be used disproportionately compared to other drugs and reduce a lot of PvP interaction. Which would be realistic, but in this case I made a choice for gameplay reasons. I have considered adding it and hallucinogens as a special category of drugs that just do something funny instead of actually affecting gameplay (like making the interface all kinds of different colors, or making your debate abilities do different stuff), but that's an extremely low priority.

@sinlun, never going to happen, that talk has gone and past. Q has made his decision and I doubt he will ever reverse it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Q do you think we could have something were CT1 players cant vote? eliminating people creating multiple accounts to tip the balance of the elections in one persons favor?
This doesn't happen. Seriously. I've looked into it every time people claim mass voting fraud and this has never occurred. Implementing such a feature would therefore not change anything and also be very unrealistic and likely reduce new player interest in the social aspect of the game. The game logs your IP whenever you connect, so it's pretty damn easy to see if someone has created a bunch of accounts to vote repeatedly. edit: though I did realize upon writing this that suicide has a potential exploit route for multi-voting, so I'll fix that up to prevent any issues.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@sinlun, you get that by having an active character when v1.00 was out. If you had a character before v1.00 but it was dead or you had not made a new one when it switched to V1.00 then you, like me get nothing. Another possibility is that you get either rocks or lava tile instead.
It was only given out once as a bonus for being a long-time player when the game went v1.0 and will not be given out again. It gives a minor stat bonus; nothing exceptional.
