So, I looked at the wiki, and what I can glean from it is that either lots of bills have no effects at all on the country, or that we hardly know what they actually do. It's almost like we're actual congresspeople.
The wiki is non-official information and thus very incomplete. With how bills are applied EOD, it's effectively impossible to figure out what each bill does (this is quite intentional). However, Deep Throat provides a way of figuring it out.

I once played a Legislative Review committee on one of my own bills, and the bill ended up failing, but I got clout anyway because apparently playing a Leg. committee counts as playing against. xD

Just wondering, can you actually use the guns you buy to defend yourself, or are they just gear? Like, if there was an assassination attempt, could I stop it with my gun?
shazam. Also, yes, I did try to draw a pretty stark line between libertarians and conservatives. Libertarians are libertarian/conservative, whereas conservatives are authoritarian/conservative. Liberal:Socialist is the same setup.

"Citizens of the United States are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with Congress according to new poll numbers. Voters nationwide are gearing up to kick out the incumbent congresspersons that they view as part of the problem." And how much is this one??
The player population was actually significantly more balanced before this past week or two. A large number of players came in from an unknown source and heavily skewed the playerbase to the left. I've noticed that most places players come in from offsite seem to have a left lean, while kongregate itself seems much more neutral. A lot of the people who play actually don't give a crap about politics.

if a country with abysmal relations has 0 trade then therefore, using only SLIGHTLY flawed logic, a country with excellent relations should have infinite trade
depends on how bad things are going for everyone and your party. There's two separate possibilities for a penalty if you're CT3+. Check the paper for more info.

@delosford
Is there a way to suicide so you can make a new character? Or do i have to ask you to viciously murder my current character. Please tell me.
Have to request it. Too much potential for abuse otherwise with some of the team mechanics. Just send me a PM. Also, if it's something minor like you picked the wrong party/want a name change and you're still tier 1ish, I can just change it.
Various things look like hacking to the server that might not actually be. For example: clicking to buy something twice when you have only enough cash to buy it once.

My First 2 binaries fail to pass then on my third binary it passes but then the Supreme Court rule it Uncosinstutional Escuse my lauguage ARE YOU SHITTING ME?
Right now the algorithm is mostly random with weighting towards the appointee's affiliation, but eventually it will be more intelligent and based on game conditions such as that.

@valkros, per cent means per hundred, 100 take away 90=>0, therefore your bill is not guaranteed to pass. more specifically 100 take away 90=10, therefore your bill has a 10% chance of failing

I'd say it's not us with suspended accounts, it's delosford for not paying the server fees. But that's just my guess.
No, it was my hosting provider's fault for not rebilling my credit card automatically like I have it set, or not notifying me if there was an error... Oh, right, and apparently they haven't heard of PHONES.

next time on clout, will congress successfully take down all public debt, or will the nation crumble and die. find out next time on clout!
I'm not running Gmail. Deleted messages are deleted, so get to deleting. Eventually I'll offer a paid option that involves an unlimited inbox size, so if you really want it, you will eventually be able to get it. I can't have people clogging the DB with tons of email traffic unless they're willing to pay for server space, basically.

06/09/13 07:59 -- You have gained 0 Clout for acting as a proponent of a Decrease Family-Related Tax Breaks bill that passed!
Why did I gain 0 Clout? I am of the Green Party, and had my filter on for Green Bills only...
It's possible you acted on the bill with an ability that isn't eligible for gaining clout, such as PP, a committee, filibuster, etc. Additionally, you will gain nothing if your only ability plays are gaffes
Yes. Say your discovery requires something like... personal testimony, or some documents or what have you. A coverup will destroy those things in one way or another, and your evidence will be too thin to be useful. This is why you can cover up discovered scandals. I also feel it encourages more even release of scandals than saving them up to dump on someone... which is not something I really wanted to encourage. There are other systems in place against that strategy as well.

I suggest making salaries into a red stat if it is too high, and to increase the csp loss for each red stat (beginning with 2 and each additional red one costs more csp) and to scale those losses with clout tier.
"too high" is arbitrary for something like that. Salaries sap happiness heavily, so if you do better at maintaining the nation: you can have higher salaries.

Invoke the Founding Fathers uses 10 energy and 2 stress, but is more powerful. In addition, it gives small support bonus if it is effective.

delosford,I tried clicking cronies and associations and promote my friend, his came up:Fatal error: Call to undefined function logtochar() in /home/cabinca/public_html/clout/promote.php on line 25. I can't do anything else without clothes on (like bills) and buying stuff gives me the character auth problem.I wonder what is wrong...

Uh,delosford,I reloaded the game like you told me to (to fix the character auth failure) but when I tried equipping things to wear it popped up again.I do not know if it is Kongregate's server or my computer, but everything works fine on my comp except this problem. Please help!
It really ONLY happens when you equip stuff? Just click around the game a while doing various other things and see if it happens. If it's only happening in one case it might actually be some kind of bug.

is there an achi called "magnificent bastard"? i think i once heard treebeard say something about it but i've never heard about it since
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@ dak, i think 1 hr after the last one ends, or if you CC'd the bill you need 2 other people to CC till you can do so again.
are judicial VIP's affected by congressional security?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Maybe you need more energy(10) or less stress(50)? But you have a point, this message is far from being a good one in that situation.

Umm...I keep trying to start a bill and it says, "Hacking the game is bad, mmkay?" And I'm not even hacking. It costs 750 Clout, and it should give me around $2000 then $4350. Please help.
So you're trying to take a campaign contribution when you couldn't normally introduce a bill? Yeah, there's no front-end validation for that, so you get a hacking message if you try because the server is not psychic.
We impose a new government, they get some of our national defense, and the country stats get rerolled to some extent. Winning wars is not actually a goal of the game in any meaningful way.
They are compounds which act as neurotransmitter analogues for Gamma Aminobutryic Acid. (Wikipedia GABA Agonist if you really want to know more; they're a real thing)
