I started to get fireflies, and I was happy. I ate a few, and ate some moths. Then my web broke because you couldn't even see the strands underneath the massive horde of bugs that I couldn't eat. Spiders can only move so fast.

To anyone criticizing on badge of the day today, the game is 11 years old. Think of how far gaming has come and give it a grain of salt.

Shows how difficult being an animal other than a human must be. Spiders must always be stressing out about whether something is going to land in their web. Did I find a good location? Is there too much wind? Will anyone fly here? So damn stressful.

Important to remember: it's better not to cover the entire field. There'll be enough bugs that unless you're really unlucky half or one third is enough, and if you cover too large an area the bugs will come faster than you can eat them.

Welp, caght a bat in first attempt. I would like to keep playing, but not if it means getting thoe demon spawns hurled in the face, damn they are horrifying.

asshole humming birds keep hovering around until they find the one weakness in my web and plow through it. What jerks, just fly around the whole damn thing!

My web was epicly destroyed when three queen bees suddenly appeared and got caught...there was lots of lag when the bees came
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
After having my web destroyed a lot of times, I've decided that I will never try to destroy a spider web or kill a spider. Ever again.

"Eat a bat"... Hmm, I think the Hard badge should have been named "Ozzy Ozbourne", or at least have his name in it. :D

This is the best method i found to catch everything and avoid collision with unwanted things http://prntscr.com/19ocrn

I liked this game, but I simply cannot pass the part when all my is web broken. Even with a full web bar and health, I simply starve to die cause I cannot remake a web large enought to catch something, except if I have lots of luck, what is not common. Someone has passed this part?

Surprisingly, the best way (for me at least) to play this game looks similar to an actual spider web. I choose to leave a gap in the middle and make most strands go around that in a circle, only using lines going towards the center to support those longer ones. This ensures that when something inevitably breaks a strand, most of the web remains intact.

@jason, if you press space it cancels whatever commands you have already queued up and you can issue new ones instead
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The Circle web seems to be the best option. By avoiding the middle, it becomes quite a bit harder to break your entire web at once.

at the first time, you try to make just like real spider web, but not again till bee, stag beetle or another web breaker come :P

golden webbing is worthless even when over 25% of the web is made of it and still fireflies instantly destroy it... perhaps its more important to have a stand of golden webbing entice from top-bottom/left-right of the connection points rather then encircle the central web

@ JSilvis
Yeah, like i had a center oriented web, really good, about 75% gold webbing.. and a hummingbird flew into a stray strand, and outside strand and tore the whole thing up, it's all about trying to make a durable, good web, with very few, if any weak spots, or strands that will cause an avalanche like that, to prevent such things, i make a Right triangle sort of web, it's only half the screen, so half the bugs, but it's easy to mantain, strong and very hard to avalanche like that (Please + So people can know the Triangle idea, if done right, it's a supendous way of play)

does this happen to be a golden silk spider? it looks nothing like it, but it does use golden silk and its web is extremely strong.

critical web fail - first, a joint drops down if it has connections only in a single semicircle, so add them joints while curving the web's edge inwards to prevent it going down all at once. Also protect the edges of your web, mostly web goes down if an edge gets torn apart by a bat/hummingbird/lucky bee shot. And second, golden strands don't add up to total structure's strength, only a number of strands in it matters, unless goldens are the only strands that carry the load. So if a center gets overloaded, it tears up.

Karanime, basically you can't totally prevent your web from breaking, you can only constantly detect if there's a weak spot exposed and web around there giving it protection. Also you can maintain 2-4 corner webs so even if one corner will fall, you will have another one to give you food. You can even get a full circle if you play this game for long enough, that is 4 corner webs with all their corners protected, so the open space does not connect to the trees. Such a web is extremely stable. I once had that, and when I finally stopped adding web and resorted to eating only, it held for 70k points before me starving, including two bats, ~20 hummingbirds and lots of other stuff.

the itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout there it made its web and cleared the buggies out.....then a bunch of freaking bees came along and went hulk smash on my damn web #spiderstrugglesarereal
