Under rating threshold (show) Is the web programmed to break? I can't handle that part... I always have it grided with the most perfect web, no stag beatle can take my normal webbing, let alone my golden support webbing, then, snap.

Under rating threshold (show) PROTIP: To avoid getting completely and utterly annihilated, build a mini-web on the corner once 1/2 or 1/4 of your main web breaks. That way, you can still have a backup plan even if your main web gets bombarded by 9001 bees because of 5 queen bees. It will result in a small amount of foot being brought in, but it's better than dying.

Under rating threshold (show) i tend to focus on 1/2 the web just spamming lines to catch stuff, waiting for the other 1/2 to break.. then i build the empty 1/2 up from the corner with tons of closely spaced diagonal lines forming a strong structure.. eventually letting the original 1/2 i worked on be destroyed to make room for the strong structured one (if you dont, one line can break the full web)

Under rating threshold (show) Completely honestly, this is a game that I am looking for to be a comfort, fun game. I think that this game would work much better as an easy game rather than a challenge. Or better yet, please everyone, by putting an easy, medium, and hard mode. That way we can work our way up. The problem is, the game gets so hard so fast, and it's a bit depressing. I love the idea of the game! Hope you put an easy mode in it!

Under rating threshold (show) Getting the hard badge : - build the web in that order -> bottom right, top left, bottom left. It should be made up (by scribbling, the fastest method) with tiny triangles. Do not go over 3/5 of the area with the web ; not defendable. - Eating priorities from best to worst dragonflies (faster everything), queenbees, then fireflies, then bees (if enough health), then ladybugs. A good indicator of a well constructed web is a caught hummingbird. If you've got 2 and your web is as big as you need, you don't really have to worry about the bat.

Under rating threshold (show) Completes the web of the spider gods and the get to the bat level. Bat cuts web in half and then Queenbee gets caught. Then another. Then another. A single strand is left as I desperately cling to life as so many of my helpless prey once and a single strand the sits in the corner of the branch and I begin to rebuild. 4 strands have been secured and I see a comeback in sight and then I see the second bat. I then begin singing the itsy bitsy spider as I cry myself to sleep.

Developer response from greg

Natural selection, basically. So many bees have been dying off lately that the super-strong bees are the only ones left.

Under rating threshold (show) Rain king advice is good. What I did to get the bat is to start in one corner and making a tight web (lots of small triangles = strong web). This structure can withstand a lot of small bugs, even a horde of moths. Ignore the other parts, if they break it's fine, less area to worry about and you won't get overwhelmed by fireflies moth combo. From there you can expand when you have spare web and weave around the edges of the screen (branches). Save one corner to weave golden web and reinforce with regular web.

Under rating threshold (show) Congratulations! You just won the Godlike Invertebrate Badge and 30 points! To catch the bat simply build around the corners so you'll leave a circular hole in the middle and keep reinforcing the edges!

Under rating threshold (show) you can't get a second bat while you won't eat up the first one, who gets weaker if it tears through your web. But when fireflies come in packs, you shuold react at once, or get swarmed. You can even leave the bat half-eaten (press space for that) and rush at fireflies.

Under rating threshold (show) Very original concept and great execution! I found the key to success is structuring your web so it can withstand some losses without completely collapsing. What worked for me was to build four semi-independent webs, one in each corner. That way if you lose one or two of the corners you have some productive area to recover from.

Under rating threshold (show) Once you have a decent web structure set up it's all about food management. A single firefly or queen bee left unchecked can end your game in seconds, especially if you get caught with your metaphorical pants down while chewing on a butterfly. Simple yet deceptively difficult game, absolute blast to play.
