Gotta love how the first 9 levels can be won by going up and leaving the game alone. And then the last level requires perfect timing and 1 mistake can kill you.

Finally got the Admiral badge. 1) it goes without saying to save BEFORE buying your upgrades to get what will suit the next level best. 2) NEVER go toe-to-toe with the Final boss, always be crossing him in the opposite direction: use an "infinity / figure 8" motion to reach the angles you need to fire at him diagonally. He will always have cannons ready, so never attack him vertically, you will with just a few of those hits.

For all those people who don't seem to understand, the accuracy bonus is scaled by level. For 100% accuracy on level 1, you get 1000 gold, level 2 is 2000, level 3 is 3000, etc.

instead of not shooting, tap the spacebar while your guys are fighting, and instead of geting a 2500 gold bonus for no shooting, you get a 4000 gold bonus for 100% accuracy

This game definetly gets hard, but its worth a little sit down for a hour or two. Come out with a second, a campaign setting and mulitplayer setting would be neat. Or even certain types of ships you can buy. Otherwise, games a 4/5.

I completly agree with harvestsun's way of playing the only thing that i want to add is that instead of getting the "no shooting" bonus after lvl 3 its better to make the 100 % accuracy bonus because its giving you more money. It is a bit tricky to push yourself into an enemy ship and shoot just a few canon balls but its still worth the try -its giving 5000 gold on lvl 5 instead 2500 with the no shot dealt. Which can make a big difference in the end.

good game 4/5 last mission is hard anyway i tried both metods and htjp metod is the best anyway don't shoot for the first 2 lvls w8 the third lvl and at the last mission clear enemy ships fast and attck directly the boss and it will be easy.

So, herveston, good work mate, listen to his advice, it allows the most gold because when you fire on the enemy ships they lose gold. But battling with the pirates makes them lose no gold.

In addition to harvestsun's tactics: instead of not fireing, fire when you are boarding, a few shots is enough. The 100% accuracy bonus is a lot higher than the no fireing bonus.

hmm, the tactics of harvestsun are great... but it makes the difficulty of the game bad - lvl 1-9 are extremely easy, and lvl 10-12 are pretty hard. 4/5 for the game - could be better.

you think this one was hard, you shoulda seen the previous version :/ you couldnt even go halfway up the screen so you would have no choice but to let 8 ships take pot shots at you at the same time

Definitely a unique game - a unique yet interesting and effective combat system. However, the final two levels, and the final level in particular (with the final boss's infinitely-spawning minions) on Admiral difficulty go overboard with the difficulty; swarms of ships, each with heavy firepower and plenty of health.

useful tip for level 12: the faster you beat the first 12 ships, the longer you stay alone with the boss... if you are quicker enough, you can easily beat it with your crew while spamming ammo

guys!!! harvestsun is absolutely right about getting your men maxed up, that makes you invincible, not the armor which sucks badly, BUT not shooting is NO WAY better than SHOOTING. just with a 75% hit i got 3500+ bonus. and 75% is piss easy the whole fight.
but if ur smart, and this IS BEST WAY, spend all the fight just with ur crew killing ships, and on boss(big target, easy to hit) shoot just once or so, and u get a 100% or at least 90% accuracy, and tons of gold... 2500 from not shootuing is crap comapred to this.

The game is incredibly easy until you hit level 12, then all of a sudden you just lose over and over and over...
The last boss itself is pretty easy, it's the infinite spawn of ships that keep getting in your way that make it obnoxious.

The key, my pirate mates, is to fire very little on the first 10 levels. Getting 100% gets you a maximum bonus, and also, if you fire JUST ONE cannon it will not knock off any or much gold off of the ship you're boarding.

THANK YOU harvestsun! after finally trying his way to beat the game i beat the boss on my second try (admiral) with 50 health and 3 pirates left, oh and 1 of the ships that spawn while fighting last boss. that ship took me longer then the boss...

I wouldn't listen to the whole "Lololol don't shoot till level 10." Don't get me wrong, that 2500 bonus is nice. However, if you can manage to get a 90% or higher hit rate (Which is easy at close range while your men board enemy ships) you'll get some cash money.
I just got a 8679 bonus for 96% hit rate.

I never bought ship strength. Pirates to max. Cannon stuff to max. This should be done by just boarding until lvl 10. On lvl 10 you can board too, but its trickier, as you need to constant broadside and separate the ships. Then you want lots of speed and turning. Speed is more important. And, on admiral, its going to take skill to beat the last 2 levels, and getting the accuracy bonus is a must.

Much more fun not letting the pirates fight . More interesting as a shoot em up...in other words just save each level before upgrade and see what works. Dodging and speed, shooting at an angle.. don't let the enemy ships near you unless their toast. Fun game. I found the all pirate, ship hull strength method weak and silly.

If you make a second, make replayable levels, new weapons for the crew and ship(such as harpoon, swords and, flintlock pistols) and, also make a customisable captain(which is you).

How come you reload slower when your crew is running thin but the enemy has no trouble reloading their 50,000 cannons every two seconds even if there's only one crewman left. And the last stage is overkill, it's like hitting a massive brick wall on the difficulty curve, you might as well have given the enemy anti-ship water missiles. I loved the game but the gameplay dynamics should have been given a bit more thought to in my opinion.
