This is by FAR my favorite card game on Kongregate. It is well balenced, and challenge mode adds great replayability.

There should be a "reset round" button for the challenge mode. When you know you are going to lose you shouldn't have to go to the Main menu, select challenge mode, and then the challenge round.

I got so mad that I threw my keyboard at the wall! xD All this random luck really is annoying, and sometimes it even appears as though the computer is cheating. 1 hp left, me at about 20, they use Hound of Tindalos with 8 arcane power, or they have really low hp for a long period of time and I get no attack cards. :(
Fun game, but it's still a little more luck-based RNG than I enjoy.

umm pardon me but on challenge 10 why dont u just remove the doppleganger card rather then having it so everytime u get one he has a dark young charge to one shot u with ive done that challenge 30 times least and everytime i get the doppleganger card he gets the dark young charge card and i get one shotted

I have been playing through the "challenges" and I really should elaborate my point further. The point of a challenge is that one is put in a seemingly impossible situation and has to find the way out of it. This is quite different from your method which consists of dropping players into situations that are literally impossible unless you randomly get the precise set of 10 cards needed to win. This is especially true of 15 as has been said before. I have frequently been powerless to stop the opponent from killing me in the first turn. Challenge mode gets a 1/5.

Meh. The gameplay isn't all that great. There is no challenge involved. It's entirely based on chance. The "challenges" are frustrating not because they're hard, but because it's entirely based on luck of the draw. And I haven't read any Lovecraft yet, so all of the background is lost on me. 2/5

i just beat the game (not including chanleges) and during my acention to the statis of great cthulu i went mad a total of 24 times muwahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahhahahahahhahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahah

Challenges are luck-based, if you want to keep your cool, don't even try to get the impossible badge. It's not hard but you have to be very patient.
My strategy for the normal 30 level mode was: reset your hand until you draw the instant-make-other-guy-insane card and from there it's an easy game, especially if he got Megalomania you just need to stall for a few turns and keep an armor piercing gun to finish him off..

I really hate this "challenge" mode. It's pretty obvious that I'll lose when I have only 5 HP and opponent has 50. There aren't any useful life spells too. If I can win somehow, I would not count that a victory, because that'll be pure luck and if I try enough that improbable combination will eventually emerge. Phew.

The easiest Way to get the unholy power book badge is to build up about 14 or 16 is better arcane and use a card that does about 14 or 12 damage

Tip for winning the challenges where you start with only a few life. Get your opponent insane. Hope for megalomania let exponential taint do more damage then your cards so you can worry about gaining life and adding defense.

Hahahaha - Yes i got SUPER lucky on 15, actually 16 was the hardest one so far now i am at 20 and have no idea how to kill the sucker......good luck.....to be honest follow a strategy of course u will lose because its not fair but stick with ur strategies and u will eventual get the luck u need....

Besides, the cards the computer plays is completely random - they will play cards that are pointless or that backfire on them on a regular basis. The computer doesn't "want to address" anything.

Whataday: Thanks for the pep talk, but winning challenge 15 on your fourth try was 100% luck and 0% strategy. No amount of tactics can save you when the game decides to kill you on the first turn again, and again, and again.
