The aimless wandering around looking for places you've already passed and forgotten the direction of, makes this adventure more frustrating than engaging. There really needs to be some sort of minimap.

This game is one of the most beautiful I've ever experienced. The extremely stark contrast between the wonderful depth in the game (of September, of the tribes, of the Oarbor, the world itself) and the the fact that the game only has two colors adds to the beauty.

The only puzzle which perplexed me was the seventh ending, with the scraps. I kept looking for meaning in the symbols on the scraps, when there really wasn't any. Some indication of how those images correlate to objects in the game world would have been immensely helpful.

umm, anybody could lend me a help? I have all the artifacts , but can't find the temple for the last ending, I have run over the map inumerous times, but to no aval, can't find this damn temple(or whatever it is)...

Beautiful and brilliant. Note: memorize the order of the pillars that pop up when they direct you to the others. I love the details of the game, and playing it was actually worthwhile. Something memorable.

What are those lighter areas that appear every so often and very slowly move to the other side of the screen and then dissapear? o.o

It was a cool game, and I got all the endings, but I don't feel any kind of completion for getting the endings. Still 5/5 for being unique and awesome. It reminded me of that game where you run away from the clouds, and hide in caves, in search for your lover. Forgot what it was called.

You know, as I played this, my thoughts turned to the Myst series. And then I read the notes and found it was one of the inspirations for this. I think the feel of this game is very reminiscent of the Myst games, which is an amazing task for such a simple game. You, sir, have earned a 5 from me.

Great game! but very confusing to wander around in, a map of places visited would be very nice, at least 4.5/5 as is, but if another of this type were to be made (not necessarily a sequel, just a similar game) then i would like to see a few things, you couldn't check your hidden signpost progress from you "inventory", it would be nice to have some kind of background art, and in general just more stuff, because the story was just so well thought out that i want MOAR!....plz? XD

I don't know why, but with the sound turned up high, I can't stop feeling clammy, and it feels very cold. I also shiver a lot. This is the most "realistic" game to date, and gives a sense about what real fear is. It's not devil's, its being lost with no hope.

I realized my soud was muted while walking along, Once I turned it on I saw a shiny dot. I went off the path, and that horrible noise of a creeky door started. I'm afraid to leave the path now.

Another excellent Title Greg! I'm impressed yet again by your ability to create compelling stories and to deliver them in creative and interesting ways. Looming was particularly excellent in my mind because of the rich mythology; Two races of people, living in a harsh land of mysteries; An ancient creature of unknown origin or intent who knows the date of his own death; mysterious epiphany, the substance which falls from the sky and brings with it visions of time gone by and yet to come. You continue to make the freelance game community a richer and more storied place, again, Top-notch!

its easy to look around objects around slightly big dots that are way e-z to collect, and the groung looks like space, and when u press x while standing in the holes, it sounds like a teen said "tuz-shew-hewshes" epic finding game 5/5!!!

this game scares me...its like if i go to a certain spot and stand on it, a screamer pic will come up and scream out of nowhere and then ill shit my pants XD

I have commented on most of your games, but I was unable to complete this one. Not due to the fact that it is difficult, but the fact that it is just so damn creepy. The (this is what I call it) Puebalo guy who I guess sings in the backround randomly scared the hell out of me. Looming is a place for the ones who are desperate for something other than natural.

(Continuation because my post was too long):
I particularly liked the character of the Oarboar; it seemed like a wise, sagelike creature that was peaceful despite its monstrous appearance. (I keep trying to picture that -- the closest I can get is that it's either a chimera or a griffin) I do like jigsaw-puzzle like things where you have to slowly gather pieces of the plot, especially if you get them out of order, so that was fun. The only thing I think the game was lacking in was the Seecha -- I had a hard time grasping their exact methods and culture. I was a bit confused as to the extent of their "machines", how they used them, etc. I didn't really get a feel of "pragmatic intuition" like you say. That's just me though. Anyway, um, yes, this was great and I will probably recommend it to others. :)

This is very well-done. I wasn't surprised to learn that Yume Nikki was one of the influences for this game; Looming does feel very similar. Because of that and some of your previous games, I was constantly nervous that it would suddenly turn dark and depressing, but it didn't, and I'm glad for that! Though I like dark, depressing dramas, sometimes you do need lighthearted ambiance to relax a bit. The letters to January were a nice touch to this; they were all very sweet and heartwarming, and I wonder what January thinks of everything September writes to her about. Like September says, Looming is somewhat dreary and oppressive, but also serene and a fountain of knowledge.

Well, its actually a cool game.
It's just so weird that u have to think the unknown.
At the begin its impossible. This game has no end!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I think a minimap would make it stupid. Unknown worlds don't typically have cartography. Anyhow, great game, but the color scheme, while being creative, gave me a headache, which is the prime reason I stopped prematurely. 4/5

Excellent game. I knew that it was inspired by Yume Nikki even before i got access to notes. Reading through comments, i found out that i'm not the only one to guess that correctly. Everyone who liked this game should try Yume Nikki too! It's freeware!
I'm now going to check if I (and everyone else) should get Myst, because it inspired this game too, according to notes. And someone guessed THAT correctly, too!

I liked all the other games made by gregory weir but I hated this one I tried walking around and found absolutely nothing just nothing and for a game with nothing in it it had a lot of lag though I have a slow computer which is part of it but I still dont loike this game at all.

I've only found two bones of this creature and I can tell that he's bad-ass. He has three eyes, three legs-and/or-arms, a humongous pelvis, big brain capacity, big-ass teeth, and is an omnivore...

This game was interesting but I found myself losing interest after a while. With no clear mark I found my self lost and a little bit bored. The story was good as all of Weir's games are and in fact Weir is my favorite game creator of all time. However this one was not for me. I prefer a complex story that is not so stretched out. However saying this it was a well made game I just didn't enjoy it and come on. It's Weir. It's a 5 for me.

Dear January,
I have just completed one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life that do not involve you. The Epiphany has shown me much. I would have you touch the Epiphany, but I would not want your eternal perfection to be marred by by such a lifeless, misshapen place. Alas, my journey was difficult. Really, really difficult. And long. And kind of confusing at times. And a strain on my eyes. My only solace now is knowing that my eyes will soon be comforted by the sight of you, and that I will be able to give this game a 5/5. I rush to you. Yours, September.
