Under rating threshold (show) I realized he grows more 'see through' with every object you turn in, and the yellow flower is by a grave, you can put two and two together and figure out that LittleHat's explanation is almost spot on.

Under rating threshold (show) Though I feel these explanations are very valid, I have my own. As it's clear, the story starts out black and white and ends in colour. I agree with the lifelong journey explanation (Thank you deathkknight) but I'd like to expound upon that. As time goes on, it's your quest to satisfy the girl and make her happy. Soon colour fills the world and as colour does, you fade. Now, I believe that this is because as you endeavour to make her happy, you disregard your own needs, thus shriveling away. May that be over a year or a full lifetime, that's is not clear (Though based on the items collected from a clockwise order the latter is assumed). All and all I feel like this game was beautiful and it deserves more recognition for it's deep meaning, despite the simple appearance. ∞ out of 5.

Under rating threshold (show) My interpretation is not quite as happy as the others. I took this from a different perspective. The boy loves the girl. That much is apparent in how out of his way he is willing to go to make her happy. But she isn't happy. And no matter how much you give her, she is never happy. At the end, he gives her everything he can, and she just gets up. Could this be a sign of leaving? Although, this was a very thought provoking game. Another possibility I see is that perhaps, the two people here simple represent people. The boy is somebody whom fills his life with joy by giving to others. But that is not a good thing. Those who live by giving to others often receive nothing in return. When this boy was finished giving, he vanished. People who live on the gratitude of others suffer from this plague, as well as the one at the start of the story. Their life can never be filled with color unless they are helping somebody. My own two interpretations of this wonderful game.

Under rating threshold (show) At first i thought he was alive and she was just ignoring him, but when i saw he kept getting less substantial with every gift I began to wonder, and when i saw to tombstone that made me sure that they were lovers and he died. After that i realized that she had brought him back to Earth as a ghost because of her grieving for him. So he tries to make her happy again by bringing her gifts. All in all, IT WAS REALLY SAD. :'(

Under rating threshold (show) "Sorry if I haven't made any thing. But lately nothing has been coming to my mind. It's like when I try to make music, this sort of emptiness emerges and just fills my mind to a point where I just give up on it entirely. Well I gave it a shot. In my mind I tried to imagine a looming terminal illness that can affect you. I imagine an old man dying in December with a 1000 stories, but no family or friends to tell it to. Kind of like how this musical dry spell feels like, but, theres always a little hope. Any ways this is going out to you. Enjoy" BY SHADOW6NOTHING9

Under rating threshold (show) I felt sad but happy as I realized, the boy was fading but the colors of the world were coming back, the boy was returning gifts and memories for the girl as the girl was slowly remembering; the colors of the world. The flower might of been for her dead mother, the lollipop from her father dying when she was young, the teddy bear she lost in the basement as her loneliness, the necklace for her only thing of her mother, and finally the balloon... from remembering all the good things in her life, and her soul carefree

Under rating threshold (show) I see the boy either as a ghost or a sad/depressed side, that wants to cheer the girl up, but cannot interact with her, but the colors/moods that play on her emotional side.

Under rating threshold (show) I disagree with the top comments. What would the gifts have to do with anything? I'm pretty sure the idea is that the guy keeps just giving and giving in order to get this girl's attention, and she keeps on ignoring him. He's adding color to her life and she just takes him for granted. By the end he's given all of himself, and she doesn't ever notice until he's gone. That's way truer to real life; I can't count the number of times I've seen that situation, where a fellow is young and they meet a girl and don't know better, so they seriously just throw themselves at her and she seems like she couldn't care less. It happens with girls to guys too, but it's more common the other way around. The fact that this is specifically a "boy" makes me think that as well...plus I'm hoping littlehat is wrong, as that would be extremely shallow and trite as far as messages go.
