The Birdman Tribe Leader is probably one of the best characters you can use. They are pretty common.
He has a staff attack that has practically no cooldown. You can literally land on top of an enemy and mash the 'X' button without him seeing you. He can fly so it is easy to get to certain areas. Flying also allows you to make a quick getaway when you are getting beaten up.
He also has a 'Gust Breath' attack that shoots out 3 projectiles that do 7 damage each. These are good to use if you are nervous about confronting a certain enemy. You can bounce them off of walls if there is enough room. They also aim down if you shoot when you are falling. This can come in pretty handy.
Even the dragons and other big enemies are no problem when using this guy.

Am I missing something here? I'm doing a bunch of different lairs but i'm constantly hitting repeats. Like, nothing is changing at all between a bunch of them...also, if this game didnt have all those unlockable characters, this would be an incredibly weak game, just constantly seing "unlocked ____ character" is the only reason to play it really.

I would like to for when you kill enemies, you get exp. with that character, and he can level up and become more powerful, or maybe even get a new ability?

Does anyone else find it strange that you have to beat the four strongest characters in the game in order to fight a monster that can occasionaly come up in a regular level?

Nice to see another game using Realm of the mad god character set. I love that game so much! This game is pretty fun if only for the goal of unlocking everything and the different skills. The levels are a bit redundant and it seems you don't really need to kill anything if you don't want to on most levels (lich invisibility ftw). I kind of wish you could level up characters' (health, attack, defense, cooldown) then maybe go through on a higher difficulty. Some treasure or equipment to find would be nice too. Like maybe start the archer with just true shot then if you get a quiver you can get the other skills or something.

a cool feature would be that when you choose wich part of the dungeon to enter it tells you how many characters you haven't unlocked are in that place. would make it a lot easier

Choose necromancer. It can summon a bunch of minions that never go away, ever get into trouble, just lure foe into a bunch of your minions. Range attack. And can heal up damage. All extremely useful.

Would be great if u can customize your own character with the unlocked body parts and skills :D Would be awesome!! And of course more skills and characters... and each skill should have it's own cooldown because CC skills worth nothing... or maybe mana instead of cooldown so you can't spam CCs but u can still hurt the enemy... Otherwise great game... 4/5 because i want a music with more action :D :) Anyways Great Job (LOVE the pixel art)

Seems to me that super-fast attacks like magic missile are overpowered. It's a ranged attack that goes about as quickly as you can mash the button, and in case you miss it bounces back to hit them, and seems to stun targets long enough for the next attack to hit them. Even the dragons can't stand against it!

i dont care that some of the characters are useless or crapopy, theres sooo much crap in this game its super fun. I come back to play this all the time.

suggestion: when you unlock a character, have their box highlighted the first time you see them. it's getting hard to find the new ones you unlock. also, Kong API please

@Everyone talking about ROTMG: ROTMG and GDITS were both made for the same competition, where the developers had to make a game using a set of pre-made sprites. Out of the two, GDITS was released to Kongregate first.

Progress isn't "erased" when you kill the final boss....it just hits you with "new game+" and lets you unlock one creature for free. I recommend the silver egg, which is the fifth egg listed after the four normal eggs.

Tip ***Warning - Do not read unless you want the game to be so easy that it's nearly boring!*** Flies bite for 6 damage and fly+fast. Use the "drop-follow" technique with the flies: If you drop onto any enemy from above (especially effective with dragon&boss enemies) and move to stay overlapping the enemy as it moves, you will remain unseen and can simply spam your bites. For ordinary enemies, you can still fly around anywhere and easily unlock any enemy by using the previously mentioned "drop" technique + the 6-dmg bite spam. You'll make quick work of all enemies, bosses, and can zip through levels in 10-15 seconds each. It is so easy you'll wonder why the dungeon doesn't invest in bug-repellant.

fine new idea, but missing some sound, qwertz-keboard-problem, jumping could be somewhat higher, and there should be some bonuses around, at least some health. furthermore i would suggest to integrate some more RPG-elements. still fresh an unique game ... 4/5

Great game! Though the ending felt a bit anticlimatic to me. After clearing dozens of dungeons, slaying the four unique dragons and hatching them for myself, collecting over 200 characters and finally finding the boss room it turns out that it's just a generic minotaur? That's really dissapointing
