The first two challenges are good fun to play, but that Hard level sucks. Those Sacrifice cards have to be eliminated from this game. I don't mind a challenge but Hard is freaking ridiculous. Not going to waste my time when there are tons of other good games to play.

nice game, i wish the castles got taller though
and that the asian and middle eastern? tribe cards
had slightly different cards and animations,
like maybe samurai or shaolin monk or saracen warrior instead of the knight,
and a ninja or assassin instead of the thief

Well, I didn't lose a single game until halfway across Hard mode. Now I either last 4-5 turns if I try to build some resources (before the enemy kills all my workers with curse or the sacrifice things), or I just build fortifications and the enemy uses its immense starting resources to wipe me out with huge attacks.
Apparently I have to wait for the enemy to only play cards where it builds its own resources and walls for 10-12 turns to win? Game was fun up until hard, but you have to get so unreasonably lucky to win that it is not longer fun. Knocks my rating down a whole star too.

It often freezes during random points in a campaign battle, which gets really annoying when you're 3/4 of the way through a hard battle, apart from that glaring bug it is a very good game.

Even more luck based than the original - all vestige of skill has been removed. And you still ignored the biggest single bug with multiplayer. Wow. It takes real skill to make a sequel that is worse than the original in every way except for the graphics.

I've noticed some serious problems with the AI, they use Sabotage to get rid of trivial cards (Like an Archer) when I have something big that I can use on my next turn to kill them. They also commonly use Sacrifice cards when I only have one of that unit, wasting their own units for nothing.

The origoinal was far more intuitive. Too much effort on flashy graphics and too much game play lost. Go back to version 1 and upgrade its graphics for a better game.

nutnut, Magic weapons + trojan horse is better. Its Direct damage to the castle, and the caslte must be +60 to survive ;)

the 75 card/5 copies limit is by far too much. it's like you are forced to place a lot of cards you don't even want in your deck, cards that don't even work with each other. this and some other factors practically force you to play the castle-growing strategy rather than something else.

Put a limit on the special cards. Sacrifices, dragons, comets, all of them. Say 2 max. Curse 1 max. It takes WAY to long to play the computer on hard when they continually decimate your resources. Mouse over text is also another essential. I love this series and was excited when it came out, but now im just getting frustrated and losing interest.

WOW, this game is bull shit... on hard Ai uses; sacrfice mage, sacrifice builder, & dragon in the first 3 turns, this is retarded not even fun at all trying. since when are games suppose to be 100 % luck involved just so you have to restart & pray you start with the best cards

Those god damn sacrifice cards! The computer manages to take all of my entertainment out of the match in one to two turns with those F*%&ing cards!

AI is a bitch... Still haven't fixed not receiving a win when opponent quits in multilayer?
comon now...
Only good thing i see here is the graphics

I got medium badge first than easy... Yeah...
Well, it's because my Opera cookies was still here!
I played this game before badges, always happens .-.

Great game. My only beef was with the UI...it wasn't clear to me that I had to go to the main screen to organize my deck, and I couldn't figure out how to go back to the main screen and create a profile once I'd logged in as a guest.
And a tip to beginners: focus heavily on your unit cards (builder, recruit mage)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
*sigh* most of this game is luck, getting the cards you want at the right time.... there is some amount of skill required, but it is all required to have a lot of luck, which is why i usually dont play these games. 3/5 because it is fun when you do get lucky, but then again you can get screwed over so many different ways

there are ppl that dont know what to do about the badge problem... this is what to do: put a flee timer on some one... so you cant wuite more then once every 10 mins this is what should be one of the best options no cheats but a flee still counts as win for some one else so you would or do 50 mins over the badge or need 5 ppl to cheat

So... the best deck from what I have seen. Go all defense. ---5 thief, 5 mage, 5 pixies, 5 magic wall, 5 add crystals, 5 add bricks, 5 builders, 5 towers, 5 taverns, 5 houses, 5 walls, 5 fences, 5 wains, 5 all bricks, 5 reverses --- The great thing about this deck is most of the cards are cheap so you never have to discard. If you're playing hard versus the "easy" tribes, that thief can help drop the enemy's resources low enough so you can encounter several turns when the enemy is discarding 3's and you're adding to your wall or castle. Bump if this deck helps you.

the multi-player mode really tweaks this game in a way which makes it better, but campaign and multi-player together? awesome. :D I'll give this a 5/5 for an amazing effort.

Greg, didn't you learn from the last Castle Wars? that get 5 wins in multiplayer one. You know, the one that was near impossible because everyone would quit when you were about to win?

And how are we supposed to edit our deck, precisely? Could do with a little more specific direction, and maybe some tooltips.

If you get all the wall and castle increase cards, along with all the cards that will increase stocks, you get a really good life gain deck that can help you live while increasing your health to 100

give me my 50 foot tall unrealalistic looking castle with self explanatory cards! I liked it better! though showing the troops attack was a nice touch.

Ok so I didn't give up and finally got there. Thanks to nwmno for his deck: 5 thieves; 5 mage; 5 pixies; 5 add weapons; 5 add crystals; 5 add bricks; 5 remove crystals; 5 remove bricks; 5 builders; 5 taverns; 5 fences; 5 large walls; 4 wains; 5 reverses; 3 sacrifice mage; 3 sacrifice builder. And to bryanyu for the 'fast' strategy of using low cost cards for a quick win on the opponents with small castles and big resources.

i really want to play this game, but after the sponsors are shown, the screen goes black and nothing happens and i can do notinhg...
it really sucks :S
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
My only problem with the game was with how utterly unbalanced the opponents were. I either steamrolled them or GOT steamrolled. Turn one dragon followed by a turn two cannon is literally impossible to win against.

This is pretty much the card game from Might and Magic series. I think it could use more special effects etc to make the card play more exciting. Also, having to click card info to see the special card is annoying. Having an info bubble would help.

This Acromage-clone would be a hell of alot better if you went back to basics and redid the original game only with better graphics, or if you aim for it to not be an Acromage-clone, then stop using towers to increase the castle at least. :P
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
curse is entirely game-destroying now. impossible to come back once you've been cursed down to 1 unit/turn. first two campaigns are enjoyable - once you hit the third one, generation debuffs ruin it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So much worse than the first game:
1) harder to get a visual sense of castle and fence size
2) many cards don't tell you what they do--you have to click too many times to find out what they all do and then play one
3) it's lack of color-coding makes it more difficult to see how many of which resource you have, and which cards use which resource
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Multiplayer is disabled on Kong. And you'll have to unlock the cards again on the creator's site. Disappointing. Single player campaign is poor. The AI is dumb (plays "kill a worker" cards when I have 1 worker, for example) and the opposing decks don't have a strategy, it's only hard because the computer gets enough starting resources to kill you first turn. So, bad single player, disabled multiplayer, adds up to a bad game.

What happened to the Local multiplayer, my friend used to come over all the time and we would play Castle Wars 1 together
