This must be a bad joke.. the original idea for this game is by 3DO. Its name was Arcomage and was included in the Might and Magic series from MM7 to MM9 and already published as a standalone game because of its success.
This version is a really bad joke compared to the beauty of Arcomage..
Thumbs down.

Its not so fun when you aren't able to play a card and then you lose. Discard, discard, discard...(rinse and repeat)... you lose, thanks for playing!

This game on hard is pathetic. Yea, let's sit around for hours and hope LUCK prevails. Sorry, I enjoy a game where skill comes into play, not random luck. Is teh geh.

I'm sorry, but this game didn't improve at all from the 1st. The graphics might have been slightly worse, but at least game play wasn't broken by unbalanced AI; hard mode or not.

Hard badge aint that hard at all, just concentrate on building and defending and let him do the job with wasting his resources on killing, eventually he will lose everything and while you regain stuff you will easily rebuild and its a simple win. Recruit as much as you can, specially mages and builders.

Great game. Strange getting use to the new look. I hated it at first, because it's harder to read, but you get use to it. The graphics are really nice too, a definite improvement. Great job on this release, I really enjoyed the game (:

It's not bad, but I think the reward cards should be better like the first and second ones are ok but there should be a passive reward for beating the boss such as letting you chose a type of resource maker (builder, soldier, mage) to start with 1 extra, or 2 extra damage for each attack or somethin. I think that would help people beat the hard levels because right now, I'm really not that bad of a player but hard mode is too hard- the enemies have huge advantages. Oh and guys I found out that it works well if you only use one type of thing meaning you hve all brick stuff or all attack stuff. You'll need to pick a couple others to get 75 cards, but there are some good ones 2 get. Also, I'm kinda confused- How come some comments saying they liked the first one better are getting rted up and others are getting rated down?

Fun game, never played the first but I'm quite impressed with this installment. Its surprisingly addictive and requires a bit of strategy to win. Unfortunately, that brings me to my biggest problem with the game: the harder difficulty levels. When you provide the computer with high resource piles and a lot of powerful cards, it sometimes feels like luck is a driving factor rather than skill. You're a crippled antelope trying to fight off a lion in these scenarios, and it's painful to get mauled over and over again.

As far as game balance goes, the "sacrifice" cards seem to be blatantly overpowered. Whereas with "Worker" cards, there's a decision whether or not to use them (and when), with the "sacrifice" cards, it's almost ALWAYS in your best interest to use them ASAP, if you already have a worker lead. The fact that they cost ZERO resources only adds insult to injury as it just makes the swing that much more in your favor. Remember, your opponent needs to pay EIGHT resources to play their worker, to begin with. A "sacrifice" card essentially amounts to a flat-out advantage gain of 1 worker AND 8 resources... with basically zero cost to actually play the card, to begin with. How this can be perceived as balanced, I have absolutely no idea... especially when the "remove" cards are all 5 Crystals for -8 Resource! In all honesty, my suggestion would be to just outright-remove the steals; they're somewhat destroying the game, if you ask me.

can you get the easy badge in single player mode? if not then the badge of the day is impossible to get because no one plays anymore.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
As some others have said, if the easy badge doesn't complete after winning games in campaign mode, take a screenshot and send a message to Kongregate using the "Report missing achievement" link.

Trojan is really overpowered (easy to build, 20/15), especially when coupled with double damage if your ooponent hasn't the ressource (or the card) to use a "shield".
When unlocked on te campaign, it becomes a faceroll on hard with this card.

wont load for me wtf I have been playing 9 mo and the game goes to white screen during first load AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help me please any one

It's stupid when you BUY cards and when your browser auto clears cache it's gone and you've got NOTHING left. +1 so the developer can fix this to some other way of saving data
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
With regards to the single player campaign on the harder difficulty levels, I hate when developers instead of making a smarter AI increase difficulty by decreasing resources for the player and increasing resources for the computer.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So you get absolutely no advantage when you capture territories, even on hard mode? It's supposed to be be hard mode, not stacked against the player in every way imaginable mode.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Kinda annoying bug I ran into playing the campaign, the opponent just chose not to play anything when I was 1 turn from winning. I let it sit there for like 10 mins before just quitting out but this is something you should look into fixing.

RIP, my first castle game. I'll still remember you and all the fun I had smashing my dad's castle into the ground like Bruce Banner on a bad day :-(
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Here's a tip. Switch out all your "Tower" cards for "Tavern" cards. Tower costs 10 bricks and gives 10 castle. Tavern costs 12 bricks and gives 15 castle. Weird huh?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Its obviously some luck involved in the hard badge, but adapting your deck between each battle(since you can see the castle's resources/workers) makes a huge difference. Felt like the luck involved was reduced alot just by adding a bigger % of builders/recruits/mages and removing some inferior cards like spy and sabotage, aswell as reducing the amount of some other cards.
So my tip is a small deck with 5 builder/recruit/mage-cards.

ok u should call hard extremely impossibal cause it is u start out with like 1 card u can use and then ur opents have all the good cards!!!to hard =(
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Maybe when you are about to lose you should have good sportsmanship rather than quit the game because the producer of the game didn't feel like making you win when your opponent quits.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
ok, I managed to beat the hard campaign by going all defense, meaning no attacking at all, just build up your wall and castle, thats it! Keep stealing from them too :D
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If you want the hard badge, use this strategy, unlock trojan horse and then lower all of your cards so 75, having 5 trojans 5 add weapons, crystals, and the all weapons card, just keep restarting until you are able to use trojan horse and if the hp on enemy is 40 just put ambush on aswell
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So apparently even the AI rage quits when it's on the verge of losing in Hard mode. This has now happened three times where it just locks up after I play the card....the move arrow is over the AI, yet it's not making its move. I have it down to 4 castle health and just played magic defense to prevent it from defeating me before I can defeat it...and BAM - frozen!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The hard in this game is horrible, you start every round with no income and the AI fires straight out with a curse + thief almost every time, and you're completely stunted from the start.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the best way to win (in campaign, at least) is to go the pacifist route. I have no weapon cards except for 5 thieves. The offensive cards that come from magic and building have MUCH better ratios of resources/damage than the green cards, but recently i haven't put ANY offensive cards in my hand at all.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
also needs a 'skip turn' button, it sucks having to give up ur best cards cuz u just barely dont have enough to use it that turn
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Sure it sucks when your opponent quits when you're about to win, but A, half the people complaining probably do it, and B, it's great when the don't get out in time :p
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I found the best way to beat hard is with an allout defencive approach, forget any form of attack (excluding waid) hope this helps...
p.s. the magic shield thing is a life saver
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The first two challenges are good fun to play, but that Hard level sucks. Those Sacrifice cards have to be eliminated from this game. I don't mind a challenge but Hard is freaking ridiculous. Not going to waste my time when there are tons of other good games to play.
