Under rating threshold (show) too luck dependent. it was fine on the last one, but this one seems to have some balance issues in the campaign mode. i know some may say: "you just suck at it," but honestly, try survive it when they curse you the first turn or two, or attack you with a dragon or trojan horse the first couple of turns. also, the icons for the resources and manpower was so confusing at first, i had to stare at it for a few seconds to know what I'm actually looking at. certainly a lot better graphics, but still, i liked the first one better. even the card selection was better :(

Considering other games have separate login systems including the first castlewars it sounds like bull the game designer was paid to put in here so you'd have to play it on the ninjakiwi website. x@

Under rating threshold (show) hard is in fact really hard, but in a bad way, it is nearly impossible to get anything up as they use curse and sacrifice X to kill 2X so your tuck at one or 2 resources per turn and then tnehey get trojan horses or other attacks that bypass any wall you've built up.

Under rating threshold (show) Loved the first one. For this new one, the graphics/animation are a nice upgrade, as are the new cards, but the whole interface is confusing. Resources shouldn't be in a single row, but in several smaller rows to easily look them up. Text wouldn't hurt either, or different colors. Card info should appear with just a mouse hover. Just fix the UI, please!

Under rating threshold (show) OMG! If you`re gonna make a sequel to a game it should still keep some of the essentials! Did you notice how big 100 stories is! In the first it`s realistic but this one it looks like 20 storeys! And the resource bar was better where it was before! All in All. 3/5

Under rating threshold (show) The game can get addicting in the begganing but later you relize theres a lot more stuff that need impovement. Like more resource options it would be nice if there were maybe five resources instead of three and they had color. or the difficulty at the begganing of a battle when your struggling to gain resources to actually be able to attack or defend. or the nice feeling you got in the first game where your castle towered over top of you enemy because in this game gaining 20 feet to your castle looks like your castle only gained 2 feet. Now those things i listed would be a real improvement if they ever made a Castle Wars 3.

Under rating threshold (show) so nobody else is having the massive issue where I beat the comp on campaign (the first battle) and... nothing happens! I am looking at a screen with the bouncing arrow over my castle, no cards in my hand, the last card I played displayed, and no enemy castle at all!!!! so frustrating I've cleared my cookies and everything!!!!

Under rating threshold (show) It's a lot prettier, and I like that the new cards/redesign of the old makes for some new strategies, and I'm very thankful that you can now discard 3 cards per turn rather than 1 (a pet peeve of mine from the previous game.) But I wonder if the game's creator recognizes how big a difference 20 resources and a couple of "supplier types" (builders, etc.) makes in a typical game. Very often it's not "challenge the player"; it's "the enemy has a ridiculously unfair advantage." It frustrates me in part because it's not a case of "well, you could just turn the same strategy around on your opponent"- you _can't_ if you never get the resource levels to play the cards your opponent is casually throwing out in the first few turns. No deck arrangement will change that. Basically, there are 2 very different game phases- one where resources are urgently important, and one where they barely matter. If your opponent enters the latter and you're still deep in the former, you never have a chance.

Under rating threshold (show) Hard mode is retarded. The only chance you've got is to start out with the perfect hand and for your opponents' to be crap. They have literally used a school card their first turn, and then thrown repeated attacks at me until I died. Make the AI smarter or use a better deck for harder modes. Don't give the player a completely retarded handicap.

Under rating threshold (show) for online they should make it so you have a certain amount of to make your character like 3 builders 2 recruits and 1 mage but each thing you increase costs a certain amount of points so your not making it to insane and able to add bricks crystals and weapons

Under rating threshold (show) Well, it now looks slightly less like an Arcomage clone, but i think it was a better game when it was a little closer to its source, they would have done better to introduce a few more interesting cards than just pretty it up some and leave the gameplay identical.

Under rating threshold (show) On hard mode, you do start out with a moderate amount of resources, but not much in the way of replenishment rate. So the key is to have a lot of builder/mage/recruit cards and not to get below 8 of anything before you get a chance to recruit some more. Of course your opponent might destroy your bricks/crystals/weapons by then, but that's just the luck of the draw. You can't win them all, but if you play smarter than the CPU, you can win after enough tries.

Under rating threshold (show) Biggest gripe is that castles seem puny compared to the first. I mean, in the first one, you could tell that Babylon actually grew your castle. In this one, you have to look at the number to see how close your opponent is to 100.

Under rating threshold (show) 1/5 until hard AI gets nerfed. A good game but it's impossible to beat hard AI cuz they spam kill builder/mage/recruit and curse. It has ruined the experience for me. I beat easy and medium campaigns without losing and now i have lost 15x in a row on hard!

Under rating threshold (show) i basically agree with everyone else's critiques of the game and also add that it has the luck-based flaws inherent to all card games. i'll also add this bug: sometimes if you try to quit in the midst of a game, two different songs will play simultaneously. the game craps out after that, by which i mean that if you try to get in a match, your opponent will not play, effectively freezing the game. 3/5

Under rating threshold (show) uh... so on campaign the cpu killed me in the first round with a dragon... the first game is way better this sequel sucks. The enemy constantly spams you with sacrifice cards and curses which make it impossible to win. Also it is HARD to tell hw many resources you have. It Does need a colour coding system for ressources as other people have said. 2/5

Under rating threshold (show) A pretty decent take on arcomage, which the first copied almost entirely (not that that's a bad thing, i love Arcomage) I like the addition of a campaign and new cards, and it's much prettier, but as people have mentioned it's pretty important to make sure you don't make it worse when you put in your own changes, such as the lack of mouseover card info and slightly confusing resource display
