I started playing this series as a little brain exercise fun, but now I find that this series is much more than that. Such beautiful surreal artwork, and very Riven-esque, the map puzzle.

Oh, so THAT'S what you do with the glowing box! In the wisdom-gem powered gate on the winter palace side, go left to the 4 doors, go through the 3rd door from the left, and place the glowing box in the square hole in the monolith all the way to the right. One of the runes that you need to enter in the code box in the great hall will appear on the monolith.

Piecing together clues from the mysterious ruins of a highly advanced civilization, now gone forever ... the eerie allure that wrought the Myst empire. Pure genius. Love every single one ... don't stop!

@ nield; the tokens are hidden. There are five of them, but I only found two : the one at the base of a flowerpot to the right of the statue that says "be the witness of your thoughts", and the one in a huge crack between the window at the top of the spiral stairs and the room with the four portal switches. You use the tokens in a place you reach by going down asap once exiting the pod, then left (you must pull a lever in a room above).

How do you know in which holes to put the three keystones? I thought the 291 was a clue, but that doesn't work, and I can't find any clues anywhere...

Don't vote on the genre, vote on the game. If you don't like the genre, don't play the game - you won't like it! 5/5 just to counteract PatKDay's vote

For those who are stuck but don't want to read spoilers: every item is usable untill they are no longer in your inventory.

Personally if there was a walkthrough for it, i'd prefer a written one with hints instead of a direct run through everything.

Badges for all Submachine Series now!! Actually, you should make a whole Quest entirely dedicated to this saga... Best Point and Click ever!

I have no idea how I managed to miss this a YEAR ago. Just found it. Thanks for yet another one, can't wait for the next (as always!). Such a wonderfully confusing story you're weaving, I want it to all make sense!

I've always been a huge fan of the Submachine series, and this one truly takes the cake. Excellent, excellent work. 5/5 and 5 kreds!

Yes! Another submachine! My only concern is the fact that it is unclear exactly how the stone keys fit in the grid, either the note is very hard to find or it is guesswork what order to put the three sets of 6x6 in.

Truly amazing art and gameplay. And the story in this game is verry interesing. Wonder what will show us Submachine 8. Although this games the start is scary like a monster will come and eat you xD

I loved it. It's as simple as that. Though, I do have a question. MateuszSkutnik, I know you're likely not the type to give out info on Submachine's story, but will we ever meet Murtaugh or Elizabeth - or anyone, for that matter - in person? I was always wondering why we haven't seen any sentient life in the games you've done so far. I mean, we're bogged from head to toe with evidence of their existence, but it always seems that everyone around leaves as soon as we get there (according to the documents, it seems).

The only fault with these games is I have to go back and play the last one to remember what's happening, and then, because I don't understand what's happening there, I have to play the one before that. Ever time you release a new one, I end up playing the whole series over again just to figure out what the new one is about. Curse you MateuszSkutnik! Curse you and your addictive games!

Thank you sooo much Mateusz!!!! the submachine series of games is probably the best ever made! ant thank you for announcing at the end of #7 that you plan on making a #8. I was afraid there wouldn't be any after 7 because of a certain place in #6 had documents labelled 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,F

Absolutely BRILLIANT!! The story is finally starting to make sense. Finally get the karma portels and Elizabeth. Loved the florescent plants, especially the tree. Goes to show that an intriguing story and polished pixels are just as interesting as any HD 3D game! 5/5! Keep the story coming!

Mateusz I have been a fan since Submachine: Zero came out, all the way to number six. I'd say this is the best installment yet! Can't wait for number 8. ( hopefully you will make another ^^)

I have waited and waited, and now it is here Submachine 7. I didn't realize it was out until I looked on the home page. :P

By the way, does anyone know where to find the tokens? I've found only 2 so far: one in a pot without plants to the right of the portal to the garden, and one on a ledge in the room reached via spiral staircase.

Small bug: if you complete the path that connects the two left-side portals (of the set of four portals in the garden), you turn off one of the two portals, walk through the portal that's still on, and take the path all the way around to the other portal (which should be off), it will still be on, and you can use it to return back to the place with four portals, although it will turn back off when you walk through it. I think it goes without saying that you missed out on a clever secret by creating an area that was only possible to reach by walking through a deactivated portal.

Once this series is done, I'd love for the developers and writers to put together a single book (I might even pay for it) that tells the whole story here. It's great to come back to the series every few months or so, but I feel like there's so much more to this world that I can't even get my head around. Maybe it's just me, but it's something I'd like to see.
