FINAL BOSS SECRETS - It is often better to not move at all and let time tick down for your move.... sometimes
That way the final Squid Boss only uses up some crappy non-attack moves, and brings down some better gems for you to kick his arse with...
Plus this and keep this afloat if this helps you to defeat the Squid..

Make the only move I can make, starts a big cascade from off-screen in which I attack the final boss 3 times, while he has 90%+ defense and counter attack up. Awesome

By every one i got bronze or silver and by the master squid the first time gold xD
My tip is to not try to attack always but be sure you got defence and counter (verry usefull)
Nice game, and concept!

defense: 100%
Octopus deals 56 damage. Can someone tell me what is wrong with this sentence? That glitch made me lose. Can you please fix it?

YEA finaly after 2/3 hours of trying to beat the last boss i get him. With the dog and 456 hp left :D
And a score of 3419.

Pretty shitty game. I've played the same enemy four times trying to win, it actually beefs up its own abilities between fights, and against ALL ODDS it gets handed seemingly endless combos from the top of the screen. Just sitting here writing this, the enemy is getting something like a 12x combo from the top of the screen. If you're going to make a game where it slants the odds for itself, go do online blackjack or something.

wow, i still hate these luck games... and max upgrades >_<... id wisd people would add some complexity to this nonsense.

Err.. Why are so many people saying the final boss was hard? It was incredibly easy, I had huge problems on the guy BEFORE the boss, but not the boss itself..
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Wow. I finally beat octopus dude. Took a round where I got five or six extra turns and a rage. But I did it. Can you say "game balance"? Didn't think so...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
and there should be more updates, the game is too unbalanced (you just go too quickly to the last level and stall there with plenty of useless cash)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Well, the boss was hard, but i did it in one fight!
Tip: Upgrade defense to max en combine defence as much as you can, you will get 100 % def, and with a bit luck also some counter attack, if you get that from teh gems, and when you have counter att on 3 or max, it is not very hard to defeat him

Whoa, what a ripoff. Puzzle Quest was new and innovative, this feels like a sad clone. A well polished one at that, and that makes it even worse. You people are obviously not talentless hacks, why not come up with new ideas instead of stealing others' for your games?
-Notes for the final boss:
1) Counter and defense all the way.
2) Try to use its 1st form to lower its energy bar and fill your rage bar, while keeping your own health and energy bars full; so that you are in the best possible position when the actual battle starts.
Nothing special, really; and I beat the boss with only 82% upgrades done, I imagine it would be much easier when fully upgraded.

There is a big bug:
I had a long set of combos, when hit MASTER SQUID and he had a counter-attack. My first action was an attack, and then he used the counter-attack, after which his health dropped to zero and he got a new health. After that, all of that long line of action not taken, and began his move. "What the shit", I thought.
Sorry guys for the bad language, I use Google translator.

>Fighting final boss
>Boss has ~400 HP left
>Create 5-line heal combo
>Heal to less than 120 health
>Get Rainbow Black Hole
>Use on Counter tile
>360% counter get
>Heal above 120 health with resulting combo spree
>Hit by boss' energy attack
>Survive with 16 HP
>Counter for entirety of boss' remaining health

Nice artwork... but after that, nothing original about this game. Basic run of the mill match game, basic story, and a ridiculous amount of luck involved to beat the final boss (there is strategy but what, am I supposed to use my jedi powers to make the proper blocks fall for me?) Overall, can't give this game more than 2 stars, play for the badges and move on.

I've played both Ryu and Pixel and beat the final boss on my first try with both of them, Pixel only at 75% upgrades. Bit took a second try after upgrading a bit, but I won with full life. Just gotta be patient and play smart: go counter/defense if you're in threat of being smacked, go attack/magic if his defenses are down, otherwise charge up on energy/life/rage. You'll last long enough that eventually you'll get enough bombs and x5's to get him down.

I agree with the majority of participants in this game: The game is fun and enjoyable until you hit the boss. Not because it's hard necessarily but because to beat him and finish the game you need some SERIOUS luck on your side. That octo needs some serious balancing.. who agrees?

Reminds me of Puzzle Quest but even more luck-based and annoying. When the AI can play the game /this badly/ and still win consistently, you know the deck is stacked in their favor. And quit on the final boss after an hour or so. At that point it quit feeling like a challenge and instead became beating my head against a wall. It's just not entertaining enough to put up with that level of difficulty.

I love how the game lacks common sense. I had 100% defence and 108% counter, and it had one of those nuclear things you get when you get 5 tiles in a row, and it wasted it on an attack tile letting me do serious counter damage to him.

lol so many people complain about the final boss, I thought the shark boss was harder. I didn't even have full upgrades and just focused on always trying to get a shield and a reflect and watched the boss kill himself.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
wow boss is far too difficult, very un-balanced with rest of the game, just luck of the drop and hope he doesn't get crazy combo. it ruined the game for me.

I got to the last boss and I was thinking: "Heh, this octopus is an octowuss"
Then I beat him and he evolved and I was like: "Aw you sunava b!tch..."

Love this game... I have a suggestion though... You can have two modes - with and without timer and maybe call them easy and hard!

Kind of retarded that at most every boss takes one or 2 stages to beat but the final boss requires you to upgrade everything. Learn how to balance your game 1/5

It's a strange thing with the role of luck in a game. For fifteen tries against the final boss I hated it - and then there was that moment when he went on me in a rage with two additional attacks plus an energy trike, and my defence was 100%, and my counter attack was 91% …

To beat final boss: Deny
He will always choose the attack or magical attack, so you must either use the attack before him or defend. Let luck do this rest and you'll get the badge.
Also, I didn't finish all my upgrades so it is possible to beat him w/o all upgrades. However, maxing life is essential.
