always go for x4/x5 if you can, otherwise pick the match that suits your situation best! e.g.
1) if there are 1 or more attack/sp attack tiles around, prep yourself with a def and/or counterattack tile
2) if there's only 1 attack/sp tile, you can either just use the tile so your opponent won't have any, or also do def/counterattack
3) watch your health and energy :)

While I personally enjoyed the game, there are a number of bugs that make it rather frustrating. First off, the game seems especially prone to lag, and while I sometimes to have problems with Kongregate's site in that regard, it's never so bad that the game becomes unplayable like this one. Also, I noticed a rather annoying glitch where the "Your Turn message does not disappear from the screen, which makes taking your turn somewhat difficult. Aside from that the game was pretty fun overall, it just needs a little work. 7/10

Wtf is up with this shit. 2 in a row vertical, 2 fall from the top onto those, I get only a 3 piece and not a 4 piece.
Also why the hell would you make it possible for a completly new 3 in a row just spawn and give a free combo.

Such a great little game. For a special challenge I've tried beating the final boss with no upgrades, and almost won. Couldn't pull it off though. :( Give it a shot, y'all!

found a bug on the first bear boss, I got a black hole and tried to click on the blue sheilds and nothing then I clicked on each one with the timer running down fast! but nothing happened! AAHHH! then its the boss bear's turn and it clicked on the blue shields and stole what would have been my '+19 Combo' and then the boss bear raged and killed me :( and then I rage quit this unfair game of chance. 1/5

Playing the final boss with a otf tactic to be suddenly wiped by a lucky random Energy++ attack really takes the fun out of the game.

Game is garbage. Reshuffles are incredibly biased in favor of the opponents. Massive grinding is required before you become a viable contender.

Pretty amusing. I guess my heart was with the cards-erm I mean gems- with the last boss as it gave me such massive luck combos that the boss killed itself with all the def and reflect I had lol

I've actually really loved this game, despite the fact that I don't play it as much as I might. I'm actually a little surprised at people's issues... I beat the octopus my first try, with Pixel, who people say is the hardest to play.
To be fair, a lot of this game is luck. But I've found that you can really tip it in your direction with the right upgrades- defense and counter can actually be more useful that health or attack upgrades. Maxed defense is 100%, and maxing out counter can get you up to 146% (at least, that's the number I remember).

I wanted to enjoy this, as it's a cute concept, but I dislike the execution. Lining up to get moves is hard enough on tile games like these, much less having an opponent steal literally every one of them from you. There's no strategy in sitting around hoping that your enemy lines something up for you, and no sense in setting up a board for your opponent to use against you. More frustration than fun, at least for me. I play games like this for stimulation, for seeing how well I can stack the proverbial deck... not for just hoping I get lucky.

See, and now I'm confused. A few years ago, I casually blazed through the game on another website. Beat everything on my first try. I came to Kongregate and decided to play again. Everyone seems to think the boss is insane and it's even harder with Pixel. I casually beat it in three minutes with 248 health remaining, as Pixel. I am *confused*.

After playing the Biogems game day in day out, hours and hours, month after month I finally got a top score of over 81.000. A couple of hours later the score is disappeared from the high scores list.

If you want to grind for high score, take Pixel and max out everything defensive. Hold your money back and do not buy anything that increases damage. This ensures the enemy lives long enough for you to hyper mega ultimate point combo.

If you want to play a game that you feel like is rigged or your opponent is cheating then this is the game for you. The board is stacked against you, and the 1 or 2 options you have set up the computer for their unbelievable plays.

The boss becomes super easy if you make sure you leave no attack moves for him to use, for he'll always go for attack first. Always go for 4x combo. Collect rage when it won't leave you open to getting attacked on the bosses turn. Don't bother with healing (unless it's a 4x combo), it heals far too little to counter the damage taken at this point. Let the timer run out when; you can't shield and counter (prioritizing shield if you have a choice between the two and can't do both), or you can't attack, this leaves the boss with crappy tiles and in the position to shuffle the board pieces around for your turn.

BTW, it is possible to beat every fight without even 1 upgrade, except for the final boss (though I have gotten somewhat close) Often enough, the best move to make in the game is to not move. (let the timer run out)

The final boss counts too much on luck. Basically, I can grind until I get the right combination of drops, or just get on with my life.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
you know a game a good when you can't beat the boss with maxed gear. Also when the boss animation gets in the way of the board. Think the dev isn't this impotent, he is just a troll.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yeah - the boss is too damn hard. I had to repeat an earlier baddie or two, but I've been plugging away at the boss for the better part of an hour, with everything maxed. 5/5 before I hit the boss, 3/5 now.

For the final boss, I found that concentrating only on defense is a good (though slower) way to win. Heal, shield, and counter attack only whenever possible. Print screen and look at it for more time to find a match for when the game hasn't reshuffled yet and there's only one left. If you need more money for upgrades without grinding too much, just start a match and leave it open in the background, they all give you some amount of money for completion even if you die.
