I've always loved these gem games - and always felt a little silly just moving bricks around on the screen. Thank you for giving it a purpose! Thumbs up!

Cleared the game with Pixel. Surprisingly, the hardest part wasn't the final boss, but Woody instead. In fact, I killed the final boss on my first try, while lacking four upgrades.

This game would have been a lot more fun if the opponent AI was not so shameless about awarding itself combos. Seriously, it would literally line up a vertical row at the top and then drop down two of the same kind right below it. It lined up a 7x combo that way with the very first opponent -- you will never convince me that was purely bad luck on my part.

What I found is that it really helps you to beat the final boss if you:
1. Play all the previous battles.
2. Get gold medals in all of them.
3. Use mostly defence, attack and special attack moves (especially on the final boss).

It's a strange thing with the role of luck in a game. For fifteen tries against the final boss I hated it - and then there was that moment when he went on me in a rage with two additional attacks plus an energy trike, and my defence was 100%, and my counter attack was 91% …

To beat final boss: Deny
He will always choose the attack or magical attack, so you must either use the attack before him or defend. Let luck do this rest and you'll get the badge.
Also, I didn't finish all my upgrades so it is possible to beat him w/o all upgrades. However, maxing life is essential.

Beat the last boss 1st try. All i did was get 5x in a row when he was in 2nd form. Then from there used the rainbow on a counter and got 500% counter attack, he then used a special and i did well over 500 dmg in 1 shot and killing him. Easy but extreme luck.

Nothing more fun than winning a match when suddenly, your opponent scores a nine hit combo out of pure luck and kills you.

As soon as i saw pic i saw a video of them dancing and singing MOSHI MOSHI MOSHI ALWAYS MOSHI MOSHI lol i have no idea why though :3

The final boss just used a big bang on another big bang and it eliminated every single piece! 270% counter/100% is not something you want to hit.

First sorry my english
I finished without continues.
The main strategy is to delay the game to find 5 match and get the black hole to use in the counter gem. After this L or T match and for last, 4 match.
The second strategy is to focus on special and attack to deny the boss attack you. If you see that he will attack after you, your focus is to get defense. If not defense is possible, get counter.
Think smart. Let defense and counter gems amass in the screen and when you could get a 4 defense, make a 3 match of counter to complete the combo and vice versa. The boss never will try a 4 defense or counter to get a turn. So when you get this, we will attack and get a lot of damage returned.
Use the defense and counter with wisdow. If you get all time when they fall, when you need then, you dont have more.
So deny the boss to attack.
Sorry about the english again, Im from brazil, we speak portuguese =/

Got a rainbow thing at 504% Counter Attack. The octopus thing then got a Rainbow for 16x Special Attack. Epic win in 2 moves.

The move shouldn't end after the octupus morphes... really often that i got a large combo, but because the first was an attack, i didn't get any shield or counter.

I have no problems with last boss.... I guess that makes me super lucky? Animations for all the gem type matches would be neat (a lot of hilarity missed with possibly great energy charging animations). Heal needs to scale just a little as it is useless later. Also, crazy awesome combo amazing set gives like 4 gems, but just sitting their and dying gives 800. More red gems for combos!

I found that doing three blocks verticaly increases your chances of randomly hitting three more then doing three horizontal blocks.

I beat the final boss on my first try. I feel special. My stats were:
Ryu
max health
3 attack
2 energy
2 sp. attack
3 defense
3 counter
3 rage

Having finally beaten the boss I'm going to agree with 13Anthony's comments that the theory is easy and being lucky enough to pull it off is really hard. Also I saw someone else make the comment that the computer occasionally cheats while I feel that I have to say that computers can't cheat, the regularity with which the computer achieves mega combos is way beyond statistical improbability and more verging on the chances of winning the lottery multiple times.

You know Mochigames that debate about whether or not intelligent design is a legitimate theory its about evolution. You should always apply intelligent design when making a game.

Huh, I don't know if its a glitch or what, but while facing the final boss, I ran into a problem with his transformation. I swapped some gems and got an attack-special attack-defense chain. However, after the special attack, the boss transformed and it immediately became his turn where he did massive damage. I never got the defense bonus from that chain...

i do agree with the other users this could of used more animations and different music i hope they improve on the 2nd one or update this.

just had him, there would be any attack moves he could do. as I make my attack it gives him an oppotunity, ending in a nine combo with 2 bombs and an extra turn, with merely 100 hp back I see my doom, but as he hit me first time, I counter attack and kill him :)

You need to improve a lot on the AI. I mean, I had over 100% in BOTH defense and counter, and he still special attacked me.

the last boss is just a little... a lot ridiculous... i mean i beat him easy till he turns uber and 3 shots me in one move

The types of gems shouldn't be so balanced–it's annoying when things like basic attack and defense sometimes show up rarely, and you have to do something like heal when you have full health.
