it seems silly to have to effectively start over each day, but it's a matter of play balance: if you did a really good job on the first day (have lots of resources left over) then the later days would be too easy, and if you did a lousy job on the first day, you would have too little resources, possibly putting you in a no-win situation which would force you to start ALL over in order to have any chance of winning! if you've ever played the classic game Homeworld you'll know how this works.

"then it seemed like the desert come alive... they were coming out from under the sand" am i the only one who think about Starcraft when play this? to me it's a Zerg invasion with some marines trying to defend the base :p

An Alien: Is this the way to the colony?

Alien: So how are we going to attack?
Elder Alien: Just keep attacking them head-on.
3 days later...
Alien: We're running out of steam. Should we change our tactics? The rear and sides of the ship don't seem to be protected.
Elder Alien: Of course not! Keep attacking them head-on!

A lot of things you could do with this idea, but it's not there yet. Too limited, too tedious. Also, too many short-sighted ideas.
Major improvements: Easier way to tell which types of units shoot where, possibly an upgrade scheme for the units to make them... I dunno... able to do a bit more. Or perhaps structures. Definitely don't give up on the idea.

These people have some impressive discipline - they won't turn or back up, even if they're about to be attacked from the side. No matter how much you might wish they would...

the game's good, but if it is all about an improve of weapons and a resource hunt to survive shouldn't we actually be building the weapons? While also looking for the materials for them? My point of these suggestions is that you could not only add a story plot to this, you could add different side missions to better layout and prolong your game while also making the game more indepth.

Hm, a bunch of Engineers stuck on a Desert moon with a crashed spaceship. I assume they've never seen the movie "Flight of the Phoenix" before?! I guess repairing it or building a smaller spaceship out of the bigger one is not an option...

I guess it's apparently just me, but I have an immense amount of trouble with this game. And really, that's somewhat irregular as usually I'm fairly average. Plus I feel like I'm never doing anything different. I just take guys and put them on the field. It just feels really out of my hands as to whether or not I win, but again, maybe this is one of those cases where a game just isn't meant for me. I'm just going to refrain from rating I guess.

If you look at the starman waiting acheivement and find the red full stop (period if american) then you will have a laugh.

I like the having the fields of fire, though I do agree with others that the implementation of it needs some work as well as adding an orders option for target selection (railgunners going for infected, flare gunners to go for targets covered in gas, etc.). Still, a very good game.

I would NOT go for color coded Firing Lanes!
Set the View Firing Lane on toggle and make it 3 modes: Off, Specific, All.
On Specific you see only the Firing Lanes of the unit type you mouse over.
Color coded would make everything brown at the end.

i love the repulsor.
its just wierd that my men aren't affected at all.
"EPIC REVERSED TRACTOR BEAM INCOMING!"
"EVERYBODY, DON"T EVEN FLICNH

Is it just me, or is the game-play unbalanced? I mean i seem to line my troops up symmetrically, yet the ones to the right always die. Anyone else experience the same?

gunner 1: i cant the commander broke my spine
gunner 2: hmm.. yeah me too

Ugh, too simple! All you have to do is position your men to cover each other, and have men near the crash site to cover anyone else who isn't! Too easy!

if a alien gets behind your lines it will reck havock until u either buy a unit and place it behind the alien or use the repulsor wave to push the alien back. I know these are not real soldiers and all but u think one of them might be smart enough to notice and say "hey guys theres one of dem alien things behind us. we should probably shoot it in the face"

For the support-only badge, level 1 is doable with a single #2, level 2-9 are doable with a single #3, level 10 requires a #3 and #4, level 11-14 a signle #3, and 15-19 require a #3 and a #4, level 20 with #3, #4, #4. (Use the first #4 early, don't forget there's a reload period after it finishes) If you're killing all the baddies, you shouldn't run out of money.

For the first hard badge, use support power #2 for the first wave, after that use #3 every wave and use the Repulsor (#1) whenever anything comes close to your base. After wave 10 you'll have to use the Repulsor more often to keep the creeps back. During the last five waves you should be able to use support power #4 every wave which instantly rapes the entire wave.
