Had a hard time beating hot demon party because the boss walks through my army...
epic war lost the customization (choose what tree to upgrade/which troops to have), the multiple usable heros (current hero is unusable because he doesn't scale well, no reward for risk of using him) spells are also ruined because they don't scale at all, thanks to high dps/respawn/no tank healing and buffing is also useless.
Previous games micro helped, this game you tell your hero to sit in the corner then go afk with everyone else charging. Made it all the way through the extras that way minus the inferno of ignore your troops.

in hellsgate wait for the enemy to attack the angel and then charge so you have the angel on your side and attack though before the demon battle leave your hero behind so he cant get kill and just build structures until the demon is dead

for the experience for the units, best pick a zone and set up a bunch of range units like cent and archers and the rest are those that need exp, place a healing alter, and then let the game idle for 6 hours on x3 speed, and all exp needed per unit is recieved.

How to slaughter the demon imp : Build walls so your army can go and attack while your long range units can shoot safely.

you should be able to recruit heroes as you go. Redbeard would be so cool to have on a team. 5/5 and you should have more unit positions so you can really play the game.

I really wish that it had an action bar at the top that held the spells.. in my opinion i don't really like to click on the individual units to be able to use their spells.

In all honesty, this wasn't up to par. I mean, I love the Epic War serise, but 3, 4 and 5 have been no where close to as good that 2 was. still though, 4/5.

To beat Colossus, try picking populous type of units and keep sending'em to keep colossus from reaching you hero. Use a lot of agressive magic against it. It works, but you have to keep a good synchronism or speed at 1x.

I can't help feeling that the Epic War series has lost more features than it's gained. I can no longer see a mini map, I can't select individual units to see their remaining health, the graphics have gone quite cartoony which looks a lot less 'epic'. I'm struggling to see what features have been added to make the game better than, say, Epic War III.

I think that the upgrades are good for the regular campaign and maybe the next few levels but when you get to the trials is just becomes too much to contend with. I think a new skill tree shoul open at the completion of each level of difficulty

Honestly I thought this, at least when compare to the others Epic Wars; was okay.
To me, the main problem, was that even though the Hero was good for the beginning stages, when I got passed that I either had to make them protect my buildings from something that was all the way across the map, or turn them into a Kamikaze and hope one of the more powerful, bigger enemy units doesn't kill him quickly. Maybe you could buy a Resurrection spell after the main game that can revive the Hero for Mana.
Another thing I think could be upgraded is the option screen. I don't understand while the menu and in-game option screen need to have different options.
Though I will give this game one thing over the others, I remember in EW4 where I had to take about 3 minutes just to keep my Tanks in one place, it's alot easier in this game. I don't think its' that bad of a game, I just think it can be improved.

Trial 5 (its better to do end of hope since its easier): Basically just spam Regen from vampire and your on your way to defeating her. Have Dragon equipped with omega seal and white tiger with ring of slash. Have elf hunters and Succubus as your range units. Goblins and Vampire can just go towards the boss and just stall her. With regen your black dragon is practically invincible.

Trial 1 Tip: COLOSSUS:Black Dragon(ring of strike) , White tiger(omega seal), Succubus(Platinum sword), Elder Sorcerer(Thunder rune), Goblins, Hobbits. Strategy: Place as many castles or any building but don't exceed up to 3 buildings. Use building #4 to stop Collosus (archer tower) PUT IT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LEGS. It will completely stop Collossus and attack the tower BUT the good thing is, he can't hit it yet he will still attack it. Elder sorcerer is equipped with Thunder rune to stun any annoying enemies as well as Succubus with their magic since the boss is weak against magic. CENTAUR is your key unit since it provides the building and it cost 32 mp and he has range attack which is better than altar with 40mp and only heals your unit. Have whit tiger attack as often as possible to deal more damage and keep dragon close to Collosus but not too close as to hit dragon. Goblins and Hobbits are there to stall time so you have enough mana to cast another tower and stop collosus again.

game is scaled badly the hero dies instantly in all the trials, the "epic" units don't even slightly compare to the trial enemies. And the trial enemies are usually just upscaled versions of your own units the game could use more actual skins, or characters or whatever they're called

i was thinking about the extra xp the hero has (after fully upgraded)...insted of going to waist whay should we be able to upgrade something like: faster manna regeneration, increasing manna size, faster deploiment for units; 5-20% increase/level/upgrade for all this upgrades
and maybe, with some huge xp chunk get a extra army slot (i m talking about 20-30k xp and limited to 1 upgrade for this one)

If inferno is giving you trouble, have the knights on your team. Have white wold titan go to end of field and just kill small enemies. when inferno gets close to hero, cast shield from knights and run her to the other side of the field. Once maybe twice of this and inferno is dead from the larger melee units hitting him in the back. Works great!

For those still stuck on colossus, first of all fully upgrade your units. Then use goblin, witch, elf hunter, elderly wizard, gorilla and centurion. Give the goblins a platinum shield and the rest a platinum sword (get these by doing the first mission of 4th area). Mute, start battle and speed animation. When you have max population charge with all but hero. Watch an episode of your favorite series. Come back to see the win screen.

im saying before i even play the game, that Epic War, has and always will be as my memory serves, the absolute best flash game series created. I've waited a long time for #5, and i know that it will be well worth the wait. And i hope to see a #6.

Could someone please help me? I've completely beaten the campaign on the 2nd hero and I'm still missing a total of 6 units (the last 5 on the 2nd page of units, and the last unit on the 3rd page) and 7 accesories (the 3rd accesory on the 3rd page and the last 6 on the 3rd page) Could someone tell me what the missing units and accesories are, and if I would need to beat the campaign on the other hero's to get the missing units and accessories?

it said that with v1.04 i would get the earth dragon at trial 2, but i got the diablos, so where do i get the earth dragon now? *totally confused now*

Er... there is an achievement for all units, yet we cant get all the units, im at 100% yet it still says there are more units to collect, any idea what these are or is this a glitch?

anyone having trouble with colossus or any other late game boss follow this strat: discover the weakness by viewing your matching troop's stat, equip 5 fully upgraded shooters with rune that matches weakness then make the 6th troop a spam troop (goblins or hobbits). the rush the boss using walls and spam troop to stop forward progress while you hit with ranged troops. also, there is a glitch with the wall spell, if placed properly the boss can't destroy it but it will stop it's movement. try casting wall on the far right leg of colossus or the black wolf to stop them dead in their tracks until the enemies spawn troops take it down.

30 accessories? i have 28 and i'm missing the one achievement from getting all units... dam you game for maxing out all my units and getting 100%!!
