For those of you who think runescape sucks, its because you have not decided to give it a try and base it of off how sucky it may seem from other games. Just because this game doesnt have all the great stuff WoW has, Doesnt mean its a bad game. Give it a try. The mods on the runescape kongeregate are great. everyones really friendly. To anyone who does not favor the newer combat system over the old one: You can revisit a carbon copy of Runescape as it was in August of 2007. You will start as a level 3 off Tutorial Island, but you will have all the benefits that "Old RS" had. You need to be a member to do this, however.

it really is NOT that hard starting out if you do those lumbridge tasks you get like 10k try doing it when i first started and you had 25 bronze arrows a shield and a sword and that was pretty much it besides a tinderbox

This game is fun, I love how I can chat with my friends and relax leveling a really mesmerising skill. This game has got an easy 10/5 by me.

i am very sad they took tutorial island out. it gives players a chance to do almost every skill and learn how to "do" them. they should put it back in.

Following your great feedback and many weeks of updates to the Legacy Mode beta, and the recent poll in which over 80% of you overwhelmingly voted for the introduction of Legacy Mode; we are now ready to release.
Legacy Mode is a way of playing the modern RuneScape game with a traditional look and feel, without the need to learn the new combat system.
Our aim was to give players the freedom to choose how they play - we want players to use Evolution of Combat because they want to, not because they have to – that’s why Legacy is an optional mode that you can switch on or off, allowing you to choose if and when you use it.
Legacy mode includes:
Traditional RuneScape combat, with no abilities.
Interfaces styled from the pre-RS3 - both resizable and fixed.
Old-style minimap icons.
Life points back to a max of 990.

gir u can still go on tutorial island. but not actually using the orb of ocululus south of wizards tower and use the orb u cant see. Or you can abuse the noclip glitch and get there. orb of oculus is a f2p item bought from faruq in alkharid miniman symbol is a red dice.

Playing it for an hour then giving up before it has a chance to impress you makes no sense; I've played it for six years now and I love it. 5. The graphics aren't great. That's because it's a BROWSER game that is designed to run smoothly without a download. Other flash/java games have way worse graphics.

I have played runescape since '04. The game was great, back in the day. It still is really. But the update where you must be a member to show up on the highscores.. that is what killed it for me.

I started playing RuneScape in early 2004's, but I definitly quitted in August 2010.
I spent 4-5 hours each day to this game, and I think it was way better in the old days (2004-2006).

Not the GREATEST Game ever made. That would be an exaggiration. I agree though it is a good game, I've been playing since I was 9. I absoulutely love it, 5/5.

I have been playing this game on and off since I was 8 years of age. Although it may not be the flashiest game, with the most amazing combat display or graphics, it is one hell of a game. The quest system is brilliant, the daily updates are fantastic, and i can go on with this list for days. Why is this game rated so low? I dont know. Should it be rated that low? No.

ha ha ha you greedy little bastards... what does it take to satisfy you?! I have been F2P since 2007 and have always found some way to make Runescape look appealing, but you bastards state that "Oh the game is boring because the fun stuff has to be paid for" and "It got boring after a few months". First of all, get this through your think skulls. Jagex provides a Free function to get you interested in the game and, quite honestly, Don't Owe you shit. What little things that F2P get are blessings in themselves because they, sorry, WE don't deserve it, we are free-loaders more or less. Seccondly, The common game on this site keeps you interested for up to a week. MAX. This game can keep you intertained for months, maybe even years before you lose enterest in the game, which will probably be temporary.
