either the monsters need to be toned way the hell down, or the units need to be stronger, because this is infuriating

@elmotinak, @Ebircs: For "Path to Shoreview":
1. spend your skill points on Mage, Poison. (then it doesn't matter unless you have enough to get the Inflictor upgrades)
2. Put a mage right in the middle of the map, then one at the end of the back branches.
3. Try to upgrade in the order the mages see the enemies, upgrading the one furthest in the back
4. Focus all of your upgrades towards Poison, inflict, and specialists. Choose Inflictor.
With just the three mages, I was able to beat the level. I had 8 skill points at the time

for some reason some of my level one warriors have begun doing like 200-300 damage in one hit.... whats going off here?

Is it just me, or does anybody else think that the mages and warriors have don't have shoe soles, and that they have some foot disease? Because, seriously, who can't stand on grass?

(Comment Part 1) I have determined that this game is many times more difficult to a veteran player of the original Protector (as well as "Defender"). The original?
A few days, maybe a week maximum to defeat it (it says 50 hours wasted, so yea). This one? Same time (okay, not wasted, but it's been that number of days), and I have barely gotten a few maps in and I am experiencing trouble y'know, actually WINNING. Four Easy Maps, then Easy Marathon, Three Mediums, and a Medium Marathon--the main island. The island on the lower left? Three Medium, two Hard.
This game?
About the same. Only, instead of starting at the top (like the original), we're at the bottom, which feels...strange. Also, I enjoyed Dexters only having two options: general and special (critical). Now they have four specials to worry about, and can choose their element. Instead of having to place mages down of each element, it's just elementless mages who gain an element.

AustinO8, you just need to in-game upgrade a mage to the 2nd level and choose the "Infect" ability for the Easy badge.

Ok... I play a lot of tower defense, but I just can't seem to beat any of the levels past easy. I've tried dozens of different strategies, switched up my skills, etc. Also... what is the point of replaying a level if you don't get anything for beating it the second time? Any suggestions on how to make this game enjoyable for more than a couple levels?

I may be a king trying to save the world for an evil worse than death, but that doesnt mean i'd be rude and trample on your nice grass.

Didn't get the Armor Penetration skill.. Why should I learn that if it's way better get more damage instead? Getting +50 damage or +15 armor penetration... The 50 damage will be reduced by 15 (if the monster HAS armor), plus deal 35 more damage...
Armor penetration is complete useless in this game..

For an added challenge, try Path to Shoreview with a Warrior. Yes, it CAN be done, at least in Hardcore difficulty, unless you're stupendously unlucky. If you're particularly lucky, you can even do it without leaking. :)

Why do people lower scores because "there's to many tower defense games" You don't give Halo a lower score because there are too many FPS!!!! NOOO, you give it a higher score because its the BEST IN ITS CATEGORY.

I love the new graphics and the new lvling system, the speed up feature is awesome as well.
The new lvling system allows for some awesome strategies.

Let's see...
Speed mages are worthless. Seriously, the damage DECREASE they take in exchange for the ability to fire somewhat faster screws them over big time.
The specials, in general, are weaker than last game unless you go full specialist, but even then poison damage will not out-damage a pure damage mage.
A lot of the factors (spell criticals, time of a spell working, etc.) aren't shown.
Most of the time you pretty much have to play in a certain way.
Crippling: Why would you EVER need this? Worst case scenario is that you fight a regenerating boss who gets back to full health, but if that happens you are dead anyway.
Anyway, it's still a 5/5 game, but some of the stuff needs fixing.

there is a trick to winning a map easily-
1. before each map put 2 points in the scout in General skills
2. click on the map you want to do and look at wave bar
3. click each one and find out what they are weak to and strong to and see abilities like flying
4. look at map, then exit with End Game and rearrange your skills to help you

why do people say this has the same maps as the first, i don't think it does but i haven't played the first one in a while so i could be wrong.

shugotushil you can get worriors to become archers and this decreases attack power, but they are anti-air and are more faster attacking and have long range! then worriors don't look so useless!
