Wow... EXCELLENT job. MUCH better than 'Defender', which had its pluses as well.
The walkthrough alone is leagues above. Not certain why the characters walked in a circle... but had fun nonetheless!!

I downloaded the firefox just for this game (not to be freeze for a 0.5 sec after a kill) but it doesnt work. Both safari and firefox on mac keeps doing that thing. But works well on pc with IE... I hope it could fix :( so 4/5 now....

Same developer ChicagoMan. I think it was a remake.
The game's good, better than Defender in my opinion. Good job with 3-D and the new stuff.

Really like this game, only two really really small issues. It tends to slow down when a lot is going on and it would be nice to have a graphical update as you upgrade your mens... 5/5

I think he couldnt put delete, the game should get too easy with delete units. And the absorb is essencial to a hard game. 5/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Fun, but hard... some basic improvements could be made, like selling units, and telling what type of damage towers do, but all in all, alot of fun. 4/5

So Addicting! I keep playing! But how do you sell units? 3/5 I decided to be more thinking of my votes. ^,^ I would like that you don't need to click again to see the stats of an wave. Anyway it's an good UD. The best UD I played. (Unit Defense ^,^)

much better than crappy defender.
I gave it 4/5
then I died because the mouse picking is STILL broken (learn to use a mask and to write a mousehandler!), and it WOULD NOT LET ME place a piece until the enemy had walked past.
So, I just changed it to 2/5
To the author: seriously, if you would just code your game properly, you'd get a lot more popularity for your games!

Red mages are a little overpowered (or the other mages are underpowered, either way). Reds do so much damage they level up twice as fast as the other mages.

5/5
The simple diversity in units from Defender was a good TD, but with the addition of the skill system, this game has become a beast of longevity. I really like the fact that the game makes a conscious effort to push a strong plan over twitch selling like that which dominates the high scores in Desktop TD, allowing one to simply sit back and relax once everything's proceeding well enough.
I agree with Vertigozero1; the ability to see the wave's stats without having to click on them would be nice. Also, is there any way you could stack the right-hand side of skills on top of one another? Multiple clicks just strengthens it, after all. The free space could be used for something like activated skills that allow you to just drop a burst of damage in an element or something like that. I just think that activated skills could really expand this game into the next level.
Great job over all. One of the best TDs I've ever played.

This was pretty good, except it's extremely similar to defender (I even recognized some of the same sounds). Regardless, the upgrades you did were good, just fix up some bugs and I would give this a 5. For now, 4/5

this is one of the best tower defence games i've ever played, and i dont like tower defence games that much
5/5!
must have badges

It's really a shame this game has "absorb" because it makes the game into trial and error instead of strategy like srini91 said. Would give it 5/5 but I can only give it 3/5 because of the annoying absorbtion.

This is awesome, great job! I like your choices, e.g. not being able to sell units. Keeps the strategy interesting. Couple of things I would love to see, but that would not futz up the point of the game: a pause button; a speed-it-up button. I also miss the visible changes to the units as they upgraded, from defender.

This is a really nice upgrade to the original game. Adding badges and a careful tuning of the balance would make it perfect. Oh, and maybe some sort of scout ability so you wouldn't have to guess at the enemy patterns on new maps - for a point or gold cost.

Great game, i'm about 1/3 way through now. 5/5
@ Sweeper44 - The archers use the same damage type as melee dexers, so that weakness can be exploited, if only you know how...

haha lol, you can shoot the zombies on the title screen, nice sneeky feature!
i just love this game so much, so addictive
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the absorb function is not a game breaking feature. its a strategy game for a reason. try new tactics instead of whining, would be too easy if there werent some intentional stumbling blocks.
great game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
-1 for not being able to at least move or discard units, if not sell them. Give whatever reason you want; it's your game, but I'm still rating you lower for it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Did you remove the custom map feature, or does it have to be unlocked? The map editor was one of the most exciting things about Defender.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You really disappointed me...I though it was going to be something different but when I started playing this it was just like Defender with alot of the UO creatures but poorly colored and redone and the map looks just the same like defender...And the name...Defender/Protector? I dunno man I was really upset.

Thanks Arissa, calling people who have perfectly valid points stupid makes you a saint.
Again, making tough enemies with absorb thats useful in 90% of the rest of the level is just cruel. Zero damage is fine, absorb is way over-powered. In a level where I have three types of towers powered up nicely and evenly distributed, and its absorbing from TWO KINDS, and auto-repeats, I'm totally dead. That's poor game design or sadism. Probably both. Having a 'don't attack this round' button would be fine. And 'oh look, you're dead because you picked the wrong towers for the very last enemy' is NOT tactics or strategy.

Not being able to sell units sucks. "It makes the game easy" is no excuse for not including it. I got to wave 40/40 at the end of a marathon run and I lost. Why? Because the boss has regen and absorbs lightning. Now, I only had like 4-5 Purple Wizards and up until then they'd been serving me well and were NOT, of course, "poorly placed".
And the only reason I was out of lives BEFORE the boss came is because some flying skulls came along that seemed to absorb EVERYTHING.
Absorb sucks. Not being able to sell units sucks.
