The coins system is a good one. The best thing to do is put everything out until there's just a piece of wood burning. Then you can run around the level getting the coins without too much hassle. There are worse things within this game though. i.e. the fact some levels can't be played on this site and the achievements screen doesn't work, but other than that it's a good fun game and I'd like to see a sequel at least.

The collision detection with the fire is terrible, so many times do i have to restarted because the game thinks a fire 1 - 2 squares away hurts me.

Why is firebot not immune to fire? This seems like the largest lapse in judgment when you build a robot so that you don't need to use humans, and then make a robot who is not immune to fire even though you've built him out of hardy materials much, much stronger than humans.

this is a really well done game. nice idea and the controls dont stink. the levels are tricky but if you focus you can put out the fire and get all the coins. all in all very good job.

Sadly, the more I go for coins, the higher chance I have of dying D=
But if you put out all but one tiny flame, then you can go grab all the coins and come back and finish the rest =D

Does it happen only to me that the game doesn't fit in the screen in kongregate? I can't play some levels because I don't see the leftmost and rightmost columns, and I don't see the guy above. In the original site it works perfectly, but I can't play it here.

maybe get reward money (coins :P) from missions, so we dont have 2 run around getting coins while the fire blows stuff up

The submerged parts of rig on the oil rig level will catch fire, but if i spray the ocean with my hose it puts them out. This pleases me.

One upgrade that would be really handy is a fireman's axe, I keep finding myself either trapped or unable to get to the fire easily.

just a tip: Try going for the fire at the start and dwindle it down to 1 flame on 1 block. then go for the coins. its easier that way, since the 1 fire spreads much slower than a bunch of fires all around.

I thought that overall the game was fairly easy. Take your speed up to the top, add a point of tank capacity and then upgrade your jet all the way. Make sure to take out the edges of a fire where it hasn't caught on strong first and work your way back in. It's ok to leave a big burning section for a while as long as 1) it's not going to fall on you or explode and 2) it won't spread more places you can't get to quickly. I'd like to see the coins go away and be replaced by a system that rewards me for preventing fire damage. (After all, why CAN'T I pick the stupid things up after the fire goes out?)

For those who die because they want to take all the coins: Sinmply go staight to put down the fire but when it is almost extinct go to cach all coins. In the time it takes to collect all the coins the fire dont grow more than 5-6 squares so you can put it off easily.

It's quite a fun game, maybe a future version could include character exp or rank unlocking more difficult fires. Money earned could go towards equipment maybe a better firetruck to get you to the scene quicker.

Though I'd really hate to see the firemen running around my house going after my scattered spare change over putting out the fire.

Why does firebot have to raise his own money for upgrades? Why isn't he fully funded by the state? What a thankless existence firebot leads, risking his life fighting fires in uninhabited buildings...

great stuff, really, but two things: levels limited to X site is a HUGE pain in the ass and will cost you a star, and the difficulty curve is... baffling. The fire-under-the-stairs is extremely difficult, with little room for mistakes and a lot of patience required, whereas a level later with a load of fireworks is piss if you just run straight to the fire with your hose going.

the jet function needs some work since pointing even a bit off of straight down turns off upward acceleration instead of the partial reduction that makes sense. Work on those physics and you might have something.

Coins to collect is senseless, rather getting some coins after completing a level. Despite well done, something new, that I have never seen till now.

Awesome, Firebot. This has to be good. That's odd, it's already on fire. I guess these early levels are just easier that way. Hmm. That doesn't look like fire at all. You have some serious graphics issues here. Sure, there can be blue fire, but it doesn't look like that. All you're doing now is confusing people.

Awesome, 5/5. Soe tips though: some levels are just a matter of racing to the box of fireworks and putting it out, collecting the coins and finish the few blocks that are left on fire. Sequel! Map editor is nice, can get some great player packs.
