Say what you will about terrain and whatnot but the real strategy is sitting in the corner with 10 rocket trucks until the enemy runs out of units/money.

Bug: I sent my Flak Tank to attack a Lancer. After my flak retaliated, the screen froze, and the buttons were all grayed out. Had to refresh the page.

There was a guy in South America who was creating a new version of this game, but made an announcement that they were stopping development of the game because there are too many war type games. He scrapped this after about 2 years of working trying to make a new game. It was going to be called Thop Wars.

@dovahcarrot I just set it up so that my rocket truck and mortar truck worked in tandem to destroy every new spider tank. It takes a while, but eventually, you'll have a good shot at clearing the field of enemies when they run out of money.

I love this whole series and am sad it is over now. This ones story did not seem as good as the others but it was rapping things up so was about right. I also liked that General Pearl showed up at the end of the game. Hope you make a new game now that these are finished. Keep up the great work.

and GenericJoe, I completely agree. I think the key has got to be the order of movements, and how long it takes to move, but I am still hammering at it...

Very tough on hard because of the massive advantage the CPU gets, you have to play very tactically and one slip can cost you...but still, a good game and fun whilst being challenging. 4/5 because it does need some improvements.

The Battalion series is awesome. They should make another one like Durand escaped prison an rejoins his former commander Mullen(in Battalion:Nemesis) and the Federation(Pearl,Tucker&Argent),Dragoons(Yurik) and Akadians(Hayne) hunt down the two.

In maps with enemy stealth tanks, try looking for a square with a lighter shade than the others. More or less, a cloaked unit lurks there.

On mission 4, Durand's mines only produce enough for a Spider Tank every other round. Place your artillery in the lower center of the map. Durand should get stuck in a rut of sending his spiders due east immediately after building. You should be able to kill them with the artillery as they come. Move up your Scorpions and Annihilator (The Flak Tank will probably perish beforehand) and wait until Durand's initial funds run out and he can only build one Spider Tank every other turn. Then, using the Annihilator as a shield, occupy his spiders with your tanks while you move your artillery along the road to finish off his last Scorpion and Spider Tanks.

Thank god the Akadians didn't use Major Mayjor's Major Offensive against us! I have NO idea what counters rocket unicorns...

Bonus map won't play for me, either. As others have reported, the enemy begins his turn and then freezes. How are we supposed to get the BOTD if the game doesn't work? >:o

I would REALLY appreciate an auto-save function or at least a working save function. I just lost a progress of 8 leves though I´m pretty sure I saved...

i am a fan of the series, but what I've noticed that there isn't much difference game to game, other than the storyline. it is one of the few strategy games I've seen where the "defend a single road until you save up enough cash to spam an army and slaughter the enemy" tactic just doesn't work. the only problems with the games I've seen are that beach landings are cheap because you can just place heavy units on each beach so they cant land, and spider tanks can one hit kill any light unit, no matter how damaged they are, which makes lvl 4 fairly cheap. since there are never five minute battles, but more often battles that can last at least half an hour, that can be good for people that want a hard core strategy game, but people looking for a quick game will be disappointed. overall, I give it a 9/10 simply because i think spider tanks can be very cheap.

lol they should make a four way or 3 way mission. akadians vs dragoons and some mysterious person anyways, press the plus button if u like this game i rate it 100/100

Arachnaphobia[sic] actually requires no luck at all - just that you keep your units alive to the end. Go through the level cautiously and slowly and use Mortar to one shot Spiders. Keep your tanks out of range and take the time to heal any that get hit. If you lose either Rocket OR Mortar you can't win this level (at least on Hard). The first turn (lower left of map) is a good place to use ranged units + Flak to ambush Spiders with no losses indefinitely. While they hold that fort send tanks to kill barricades. If you can't get ranged Mortar to kill Spider use Annihilator because it can take a beating and heal up instead of just croaking. Once you've made it to the enemy camp get the Mortar 3 squares above the Warfactory and kill the Spider that is produced every turn. Until you mop up the rest of the Spiders keep the Mortar well protected with a blanket of the remaining [expendable] tanks. Use rocket to kill the lone enemy Scorpion and you've won - congrats.
