I always end up continually starving, but I never want to stop expanding for long enough to solve the energy deficit. Very Malthusian.

@Minecrafter832 try playing Creeper World Training Sim to get a basic understanding of the game and some of the other creeper world games first.

It appears that Odin City has some sort of wattage limit -- a maximum output of 32 packets per second, regardless of how much power you are able to bring in. 32 ammo packets per second can hold back an awful lot of creeper, but the huge reactor farm producing 48 pps of power is kind of wasted.

To all of you who want the survival mode to not kick in automatically after 60 minutes: I have played a lot of RTS games and I can tell you, while complete hegemony and control of the map is a nice concept, it gets boring very fast. I mean, if you have all the creeper emmiters secured, what do you do next? I suppose a great network of collectors, reactors and whatnot, which surely is fun, but gets old within the hour, too. 60 minutes is well enough time to build whatever you want to build.

There should be a way to replay missions from dates more than a week ago; From what I can tell, the program randomly generates a new field every day, with the 'seed' (the random number you put in for random terrain generation) being the date. I could be wrong, but that seems most likely. Anyways, there should be a way to plug in any number/ date you want to play the map generated by that date: If your friend was just trying out maps and found a cool one he could send you the code to enter

I just managed to push the creeper back and win on survival mode using drones and mortars and a stupid amount of generators

Solder: "Commander, the creeper is advancing! What shall we do?"
Commander: "Just pause the game and gimme a minute to think.."

*looks at the vast network you just built*
Ah, a good job. Ooh, mails here. I'll just go get it.
*leaves for a minute and a half, comes back, Odin City is taking damage*
DAMMIT, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?? Crap, crap, crap.... O.k., o.k., o.k., I can save this, I CAN SAVE IT!!!
*10 seconds later*
Nope. Couldn't save it.

Typical. Playing Aug 13th map on survival. Over 130 minutes in. Emitters at almost 600. Still holding out well, then Flash decides to crash on me :-(

I have probably played every single map for the last few months, and the game does have a steep learning curve. Crash course for the people that don't understand it: 1 & 5 generate energy, 1 is pretty cheap but cannot be placed to close to each other or they lose effect. 5 is expensive but can be packed close together. 2 is useful for crossing large gaps, 3 gives you a bigger reserve for energy for short bursts of building / refuelling. 4 makes all your packets go faster, they can be built anywhere. 6 is useful for pushing back creeps and when placed close to a spawn can control it single handedly. 7 is useful against deep pools of creeps or against targets that are higher up, 8 is only useful against flying creeps, 9 is useful when the creeps are spawning in a pool and is on of the best power/effect towers.

Developer, I am sorry, your game is very hard to understand, directions are confusing, looks interesting, gave it a good shot. -Marz

Just for kicks, I clicked the survival button. Now I need a new blasters, new mortars, a new network, and a new pair of pants...

Tips: • Collectors indicate their effective area with green tiles. When building, spread Collectors out! • Blasters are good for gaining ground. First, build Blasters near Odin City. Then build Collectors near the disputed territory, and move (don't build) the Blasters to them. Build more Collectors, then repeat. • Think of the Creepers' spread like a leaky faucet filling up a bathtub. That's why higher elevation is important, as is sending in Mortars and Drones in to destroy large pools of Creeper.

took about 50 minutes to finish a level, and if you are new, dont build new towers, keep pushing, meaning, make your towers move forward and forward and make new towers inside where no creeper can come and then move them out and so on. thats how i finished it

I'd like to see some documentation about when it is acceptable to use the drones. I mean, how much of the creeper we've been killing with drones has been civilian creeper?

[1] This is a PUZZLE even for veteran players. PAUSE the game on each map right AT START AND many times LATER to give orders. Think before you act. [2] Chose the FIRST BASE location for the city. BEFORE you fly there, maybe use many start up locations, only to gather UPGRADES (build collectors near brown x-es). [3 - hard NOT to put this as THE first info] The command center (ODIN CITY) CAN FLY and it CAN TAKE SOME DAMAGE and most of YOUR WEAPONS can. [5] None of the OTHER STRUCTURES can fly or take ANY damage. [6] Place all starting buildings BEFORE you start the game time. [7] The 20 ENERGY AT START goes for 2 collectors. [8] The city can power ONLY ONE collectors buildup. [9] On SOME MAPS it will NOT HELP you if you ONLY KNOW the BASICS. READ the Advanced Gameplay and Strategy Tips in the IN GAME HELP. [10] Act like the survival of the human race really depends on YOU as THE COMMANDER of odin city, BE CREATIVE with all the info you have. [11] HAVE FUN! [12] Click + on this comment :)

I like the satisfying RIGHTNESS of the Knuckle Cracker logo so much, I've refreshed the window a dozen times already.

So, ah, yeah, 60 minutes and it goes into survival mode. Note to self, don't leave it running on double speed while doing laundry..

I've personally found that there are generally 2 "danger" periods, so long as you don't goof up. The first is right at the start, when you have nothing, and you have to claim as much ground as possible and get defenses up. The second is around 6 minutes in or so when the creeper has pooled up to its maximum height and is bearing down on you. That being said, a single drone can completely nullify this 2nd danger if used properly. Its an easy game, and personally I find that appealing. A nice little fun thing each morning.

re: the issue Criggie noted:
The third totem is located on the same point as one of the orange upgrade discs. You can see it on the preview mini-map, and if you look carefully, you can see the black bar above it. It took me a while to find it, too, especially since this is a hard map to begin with.

Today's was a nice return to a tougher grind level. The third totem is basically right on top of the wall of emitters.

Wow March 14th 2013 is the hardest of these maps that I have played ever! (and I've played maaaany) Too bad I can't save it :\

It Would be really nice to go threw and complete maps from days past. It seems a waste to let your older maps go to waste. I have completed all maps for the week but find myself wanting more! Just let us play your old maps, it would be an amazing upgrade to your game!

a suggestion! allow a slider to change the rate of increase for emitters!
For those who want laser shows(due to blaster spam, who doesn't love laser shows?)
For those who want to see destruction!(due to massive creeper spawnage! Some men(and women[if you're a boy or a girl, better go see a shrink!]) just want to watch the world burn)
FOR AWESOMENESS

11:38 for 7th Sept, wish there were more like that. Always useful to go out of your way to grab a couple of extra upgrades, even if it slows down your start a bit.

Ok guys, we've made this place relatively safe and the creeper will be kept at bay consistently" "Good. Let's go then." "... Buh... *sigh* fine...

you should make a pvp in next game, i personally wouldnt play it, but IK others would love to either co-op and defeat a bigger menace, or go head-to-head to see whos the ULTIMATE survivor!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
How can you not like Drones? Sure they take a bit more attention but they are the best bang for the energy packet in the game. The value increases when you jump to survival and need some breathing room on a weak area of your defense. Fly over 7 drones and you will get a window to rebuild...at least until you get over 300 emitters...then things get difficult :)
