@Durel: build energy production up to 32, speed nodes 5 or more, some storage, straight routes to strategic targets, about 4 blasters and 4 mortars for each emitter, at least 5 drones. Have fun :)

It put me out of my misery an hour in to the level.... Not sure if happy or not, since I was starting to gain the upper hand.

9/23 - 3:43. Also 2 blasters and 1 mortar. I had too much energy since about 3:10 so probably it's possible to finish below 3 minutes?

It's a very unpleasant surprise when you're about to beat the mission you've been working on for 30 minutes, then accidentally click "Survival Mode". D'oh!

9/23 - 3:45 Again, 2 blasters and 1 Mortar. I'm sure there are better times available, but it's late and I'm off to slumberland.

1/24 Didn't move Odin City once. Avoid the temptation to make your first campaign of expansion off the starter island to the east. North to the island with an upgrade, get 10% more energy. I kept 6 or 7 blasters guarding the small stretch in the ground-level before going up to relays for higher ground. Another tip, when building your army to leave the initial island, after completion move units to the southeast (and disarm). Once you have enough to hold your north relays, pause and put them into position (and re-arm). Build space on the initial island is at a premium.

@Rain_King Thanks for the challenge :) That was fun! Tough start. But after I secured my position I went to greenout mode :) I didn't brake your rules, but capped all emitters and filled the map with collectors. That's what I do mostly just for fun. So... lots of RFI at 40:29

It's always a bit sad to see my City move after I've defeated all the Creeper on the level and have a steady source of power and storage and protection and everything I could possibly need. :c

I am curious. I see many comments from people who say they beat Survival mode. The way survival mode was designed, it keeps going on forever, with the emitters increasing in strength by 100 per 15 minutes. For a while, the player has the option to connect to the totems and fly out, but that's not beating it. That's simply ending. Survival mode was designed for those players that wanted a knock-down drag-out fight with the unrelenting creeper that would inevitably arrive after a while (which is why OC always had to leave). True survival mode is to see how long one can live after it kicks in without leaving.
It will end when every cell of the map is covered in creeper, so even if one flies OC over the map, once every cell is covered in creeper, OC will explode and survival mode will end - in defeat. :)

10/30 in 1:04 by using the same setup as dgoodhue except dropping the base in 2 blocks lower, right on top of the little pit in the ground

@Maybeso - You should call your variation "Domination" -- Criteria is you have to have zero spores on the map and at least one blaster capping each of the emitters. Screen shots would really be important for establishing high scores :)

Boogienightz: You can land Odin City in the creeper for a long time while it fills the final totem. Just watch the damage meter in the center of Odin City.

Move the city upper right. Build 1 blaster and several reactors. Then expand West using whatever weapons you believe to be the best combination. Move Odin City a 2nd time to connect to the final totem on the West when you get close. You do not have to connect to the final totem with a collector. Use Odin City to connect the Western most totem to a blaster.

1/2 - 12:36 No drones or mortars. I'm sure the big boys will be sub-10. Criggie, any valid comment is never stupid. We all have had to learn this game. It is simple in play, yet complex in its subtlety. Keep striving.

aronbon, at one time we had a user that would downvote anyone that was trying to enjoy the game, and also would make a point of always responding to anyone's time, by claiming a slightly faster time. Maybe they've just gotten lazy and only downvote now :)

January 2 2015 is a pig - I did it in 33 minutes by putting the base in the top right, but stopped to build a morter half-way there. Needed three SAMs by the first spore attack. From then on its power control and move your morter back and forth to attack both sides while building enough reactors.
I'm sure someone out there can do it in under 10 minutes and then this comment will look stupid.

Add-on to iMiPi's post: if you're killing too much Creeper, you've probably screwed yourself over; it's very difficult to reduce the size of your network without crippling yourself. In that case, the best thing you can do is try and cover some more area with Collectors (reactors take too long to build, relatively) and hope for the best..

@jasondeegan Collectors don't do anything on the green terrain. The only way to get more energy out of collectors is to put them on gray terrain. Drones need to be manually targeted each time they recharge, otherwise they just sit there. There are no upgrades for singular buildings in this game series, because it's an RTS, not a tower defense game. Blasters are only good against light creeper, and are typically used to hold a line, while mortar towers are better for taking territory, and SAMs are there to protect from spores. Please play CW training Sim. It's a good way to learn how to play the CW games.
