@Cleanbrain: Check the options. There is a double speed option. Use up arrow and down arrow to turn on and off after enabling in the Options.

*sigh* First MW3, then Skyrim, and now this...my social life no longer exists. Guess i may as well go tell my friends I wont be seeing them anymore.

take it from me, unless you have about 6 turrets per spawner, you are screwed in survival mode. 6 turrets and a whole lot of generators.

would be nice to have a save level option, especially when survival can last over an hour not counting the hour of setting up an impregnable base

almost done just need to get to that last ri-what? how did survi-OH GOD! TURRETS. OVER RUN. pause. move them back. play. oh god im doomed.

80 minutes on survival... have like 500 blasters and like 50 drones. Stops sending drones because I'm tired of surviving. blasters keep me alive... -.-

@alanek2002 the emitter intensity increases over time in survival mode - you *will* lose at some point (assuming no hacks etc. are involved). 100 intensity emitters are pretty easy to deal with, it gets interesting once it starts reaching 600+.

dude, seriously?! puts a totem right next to a creeper spawn point on top of a mountain on the other side of the map... spend an hour getting to that point and slowly making my way up the mountain, and survival mode suddenly turns on, and wipes me out in 2 minutes.

i was a little disappointed by survival mode. i had placed sam nodes everywhere, getting triple coverage, i had a small army of blasters at the lowest edges of the map, and 72 energy generation........ and almost all of my planning was unneeded. but its great that so many maps are going to be made.

I probably should have used only reactors and I could have organized them better, but emitter level is currently at 290 and my defense is still up. Another lesson would be to build -a lot- more mortar towers instead of many blasters I built. Which was what I had to do after I took that screenshot in order to survive.

To give people an idea of what's possible in survival mode:

This run through was done on the knucklecracker website using Nov. 18, 2011 - I finally lost at 4:05:32. The blasters that are disarmed I only turned on if the creeper started overflowing - drones are the most energy efficient at killing dense creeper.

I guess I have prepared too well for the survival mode...

please make survival mode an option, I dont feel like playing any more levels because I always take ages to finish and I just get battered, i mean dont force it on people after 60 minutes, please make it optional

(cont) then when everything is build and i got a good supply of power in reserve i charge a bomber directly at each node and the rest where they can do the most damage and have 3 lasers hug each spawner(pause to have everything leave at the same time) and pray to whatever deity is out there they wont expend too much ammo securing the spawners and that i can get them more ammo in time. also replace all of the lasers as soon as they liftoff incase i cant supply the ones in the field in time. oh and relays leave an uneven number of tiles between them ( like 7, 9? so go max range and then move 1 closer so you dont waste valuable space) ofcourse if the creep is higher then you then youre screwed. forget about it, pop some green land generators and lasers, it wont help you win but it will give you a few mins to cry in a fetus position.

personally my strategy is to build as many reactors(ive never build those other energy colector things that turn the land green unless the game forced me) usually 2-3 then 1 mortar and send it to a strategic location. then pray i can get a energy relay line to it in time (though usually it will hit deep creep enough to slow them down a lot so its not a problem) once its got energy flowing to it i get another mortar build as emergency backup then start pumping as many generators as i can making sure not to overload the energy network(build few at a time) along with 9 storage and 10 speed ups. also leaving room for 3 regular lasers per spawner and 1-2 bombers.
