I find what is funniest about this game is that your people are always running even when they cannot possibly die. In everyone of my games I find myself pretty much wipeing out the creeper, with defenses so overpowered that no even one drop can penetrate it, but despite being surrounded by such firepower they always run. I think I need some braver spacemen.

lynx45678, holy hell, I've played this everyday since it was released and never noticed that little text "button" to mute the music. It was one of the only things I wished the game had.

Man that's harsh @ last comment rating LOL, not alot of 80's rock fans. ah well. @ 1/19 though, no spore attack is pretty refreshing, but does make things almost too easy

January 17th was surprisingly easy for all the fuss about it. Stick on the high ground you start on and build eastwards with collectors, built a single mortar whilst expanding east to keep the pool just south of Odin city. Turned off portal charging and built a blaster on the hill to the east. This bought me more than enough time to leisurely push back the creeper with another Blaster/Mortar to get to the final totem on the east side. Never needed to construct any drones, never in any danger of being compromised, finished in under ten minutes.

Jan 17 was easiest for ages, 3 blasters 4 mortars and 2 sams all it takes. start by relocating base to the top of high ground on right build energy points all along the top to the left. when half built build a mortar just below u to stop creeper growth towards the city also build one on far left when the energy points are done. next get 2 sams below the city as theres where the air attack comes from. Buy this point u have two totems already connected. now build second mortar next to the first this should give enough damage output to lower the level of the creep on the right. Get two blasters prepped and ready and once fully charged move them south the 3rd totem, quickly link to network for recharging once clear and then link the totem. Took about 13 mins

After all the fuss about Jan 17th I was expecting something much tougher than that... I didn't really need to change my strategy at all. Forfeit the lower grounds to the creeper immediately and build up some energy. Build a couple drones and keep the pools on the far-right down with them. The pool nearby shouldn't be full by that time, so build a relay across the far-left-side to the island and use a mortar on it. Ignore the two southern upgrades and work your way across the top to get the two totems (make sure to build SAMs) and then clear out the ledge that the last totem is on with a blaster. Honestly, you folks need to learn the power of Drones.

Yes, Jan 17 was touch-and-go at points. With some maps, it's hairline energy control, with others it's leapfrogging blasters uphill, but with 1/17, it's all about chokepoints. Blocking the upper right gap and lower left gap, and then working some stable defense in the middle should give you enough time and space to crank out a support network. Remember, Relays connect farther than Collectors, and can be used to cross over narrow low-lying areas.

The previous ones were awesome, this one is just horrible, never in the previous ones did I have to struggle for 40 minutes to fail anyways. 0/5 stars for me

personally i didnt find jan 17 to bad. just make sure you have blasters not hitting spores somewhere in your base and wait until the last moment possible to use it. meanwhile build out as far as possible and slowly add reactors. by the time the creep builds up you'll have more than enough energy to start pumping blasters.

@Mozai, first attemtp at jan-17th mission, time 5.03, if you move odin city to the north side of the big lobe, you can build collectors along the top ledge, giving you enough power for a mortar and a blaster to clear your way to the final totem. You have to make sure you dont build up depletion whilst building your base, cause that will slow things down to much for you to beat the first wave of spores.

The Jan 17 2012 map actually isn't that bad when you think about how you should go about it. That was what I liked about it. It isn't just creating this enormous base, you have to think about it too.

The map for 2012-Jan-17 is a good challenge. Took me a few tries to get the right start where I wasn't overwhelmed right away. I wasn't able to control the emitters before the 60-minute mission timer elapsed and it went into Survival Mode. Pity this map cannot be saved.

Survival mode only means if you can't beat the game in one hour it's over. On one map I only needed a few more minutes, but the creepers went crazy and I knew. All I could do was sit there and watch. At least it took them 5 minutes, when the creepers go insane it's nothing to play with.

Hey guys, can anyone tell me why my storage node score keeps getting deleted?
all my scores stay, but i have to do a map befoer my storage score gets updated to the highscores
do the mods think i'm cheating ? i am in top 3 of storage nodes with 4990 nodes built atm, which is considerably higher then most people - but i built them all myself!
tbh i don't even know how to cheat the rankings.

Anyone noticed how structures that fly over creeper isn't damaged? Why the F don't they just build flying cities that stayes in the air permanently instead of battling this blue goop? -_-

You should make an optional challenge on each day to try and accomplish, such as no reactors, or only mortars weapons... Even though all the maps are different, they are starting to all seem the same. This would just add one more level of fun :) +1 this comment so the DEV sees it!

Just for reference, you base cannot send more then 32 packets worth of energy at a time. If you are producing more and trying to use more, you'll have surplus AND deficit.

Tip for jan12's map, laying an early relay can allow you to take the upper hills very early, this is useful if you do not wish to move your city.

@santiso: You can just turn totem packets off by clicking on the green packet that's attatched to odin city. That way, you can troll the creeper but still have collectors there.
