Under rating threshold (show) I started this game a bit half hearted and the mechanics weren't that revolutionary, but the story line and the side conversations make it one of my favorite games on Kongregate.

Under rating threshold (show) Just a friendly suggestion from a player who really enjoyed your game -- If you're going to make a level full of mazes like "Absolute Zero," it would be helpful if you could clean up the hitbox of your ship, and its interaction with walls. Sometimes you can fly right through them, and other times walls take on this sort of magnetic property that basically kills you because you can't get away from them.

Under rating threshold (show) One of the best games I ever played. I got all the endings except for the last special one, one I'm currently trying to get, but each one of them moved me to the brink of tears and touched my heart. I would dearly love to see a sequel. I love games and I love good stories. Starwish is a perfect mix of both and also has amazing and heat touching music composed by some great people.

Under rating threshold (show) Living proof that an engaging storyline actually enhances the gameplay sections too. The gameplay element is just a simple space shooter that has only tiny variations throughout the levels, but if you actually read the cutscenes, you feel strangely pumped to to get out there shooting again.

Under rating threshold (show) For those coming after the Flash death date, you can't play the game here anymore but you CAN still play the game using these steps: 1. Go to bluemaxima.org/flashpoint as suggested below by Fierra Star 2. Go to downloads and dowload one of the versions, I personally went with the Infinity version, which I recommend. 3. Once the download completes, go to your downloads folder and extract the files. It may want to extract to your downloads folder, but don't let it or it won't run. Extract them into a new folder on your desktop. 4. Go into that folder and click the Start Flashpoint shortcut. Then, click on the games list and search Starwish, then play. Once it loads click the Play button on the right, the "Game Start" button from here will be absent. 5. Enjoy! If you still have trouble, you can find a Flashpoint manual in the FAQ section of the BlueMaxima website. Hope this helps some of you capture some of the nostalgia I feel every time I play this game. Have fun, and fly true

Under rating threshold (show) When Deuce was handed the small box as part of his birthday presents, I thought it was going to be the stuffed snail he gave to Ginny when she came on board. I just about cried at the possibility. Very well written and was a joy, though sometimes frustrating (Ice Dragon 3 and Monolith 3 Stages in particular) to play. 5/5.

Under rating threshold (show) I played this at launch, over nine years ago, and never forgot about it. That's the kind of impact the incredible, well written story had on me. Now with the impending discontinuation of Flash, I came back for one last playthrough. Thanks for this amazing little gem, xdanond, and for all the fond memories!

Under rating threshold (show) Great storyline, characters, dialogue, pretty much everything that has already been said. I would like to see your talents with plot and character development put into a RPG quest type game rather than a side scrolling shooter, this game is fun but i think that you limited your potential with the game style you chose. Please consider making a game where your storyline is involved in the actual game play rather than a bonus like this game. I still loved this game and hope you keep creating. Food for thought PS. 5/5

Under rating threshold (show) -part 2- I hope you will move in this direction in future: joined forces with Auriplane in terms of working with music and a few good programmers who can give the game a decent engine and will be able together to set up your own small game development studio. Or join an existing one, where you can concentrate on the job with the plot and characters. And to help make the first move in this direction in addition to my words and 5/5 rating, I add a donation for $ 20 (the typical cost of licensing a commercial game in my country) for you and Auriplane (split by 50/50). I hope people who liked the game as much as I follow my example (any sum). Thank you for your excellent work and wish you success in future work.

Under rating threshold (show) 1.30 a.m. Couldn't stop playing it. I HAD to see it right through the end. Man. That WAS a true RPG. Yeah, maybe not conventional, and maybe a space shooter of all things. But it has a story the new Final Fantasy would want to... Thank you... for all.

Under rating threshold (show) By far the best game I've ever played on this site. I don't often vote on games, but felt I had to give this the five stars it deserves. It is not without flaws; the stages lacked variety, and some of the dialogue could have used revision; for one thing, there were a couple points that weren't internally consistent. That's all I can say in criticism, though, and it's not much! The hallmark of a good story is that you become attached to the characters. When it started out, a little voice in my head said, "this is going to be just like every other dialogue-driven Flash game you've played." Ten minutes in, that voice sat down and shut up. Standing ovation for everyone who worked on this marvel. With a little more polish, this game could easily go commercial, and I will be watching for a sequel - you WILL make one.

Under rating threshold (show) For those who are looking at the looming death-date of Flash and are upset that you don't have enough time to get all the endings(or would just like to replay this fun game) there are at least 2 options: you can head over to bluemaxima.org/flashpoint & decide whether you want the Ultimate version of Flashpoint(it'll have ALL the content they've saved over the years, not just Flash stuff) or the Infinity version(you pick&choose what stuff you'd like to have); you can head over to newgrounds.com & download their Newgrounds Player, after which you can continue to access all their Flash content like normal, but it is specific to only their site and Windows Desktop/Notebook users.

Under rating threshold (show) I rarely, very rarely, bother to offer a comment on these games. But this game is a grade above the rest on this site. You should be able to get a job with any game studio you want. The plot on this game was better than any of the drivel Square has been putting out for years. Bravo to you. Please take your talents to the next level.

Under rating threshold (show) There are 9 endings, one for every character (including neferiti if you play on hard mode), the normal "I have no wish" ending and, if you get all 7 character's endings in one single gameplay (not NG+) the "I have no wish" ending changes into a special ending (read this to know how to get all the endings http://www.kongregate.com/forums/3-general-gaming/topics/175829-rpg-shooter-starwish?linkfixed=1&page=3#posts-3823314). Also you cant vote for any of the "I have no wish" endings. At first the normal ending was the one I liked the most, but after geting the special ending i loved it, but seems there arent many who think alike as there is no comment for "+ if you would like to vote for the special ending".

Under rating threshold (show) It has been about a year since I last spoke to xdanond about Starwish. At the time he still had plans to make a sequel, though he was working on other projects as well and a sequel was low on the priority list. However, he was kind enough to mention that there was already scriptwriting being done, and was kind enough to send concept art as well, so there is still hope for a sequel.

Under rating threshold (show) I registered on kongregate specifically just for this game (started playing on the other site) and write this comment without knowing enough English (not native, so I apologize for any inaccuracies) to the accompaniment of music from the game. What can I say? It is a 100% best flash/web game I ever played! One of the best games in general (including up to ~100 "big"/commercial games I have tried / played in my life). Especially i like it for story line and bright vibrant characters (something that many modern high budget games lacks). Also perfect match of excellent music. Shooting part not bad, but just an ordinary for such sort of games. If we replace the combat engine for something more contemporary with normal graphic(may be even not shooter/scroller, but space sim, like Wing Commander) it could turn out a great commercial(PC/console) game. -cut to 1000 characters-

The dialogue and characters were totally awesome and made me laugh out loud several times. The game play itself is flat out fun. The system is quite unique. Overall, this combines several genres into EPIC WIN. It well deserves the 5/5 stars I am giving it.

Under rating threshold (show) It is so depressing to see so many negative/hateful reviews. People nowadays don't appreciate good plots, captivating stories, and lively characters. Now it's about how much brutal action, buckets of gore, and the ability to tea-bag in multiplayer you can do. My thanks to Danond for breaking the mold of tower defenses and launching games on Kongregate. And for all the hater's who can't handle a good storyline, please, leave REAL videogames like this alone, we don't want you. Vote so that Danond can see this please.

Under rating threshold (show) It's amazing how a flash game can have more heart and soul than some of the bigger games nowadays that likes to focus too much on graphics. Hopefully we can get a sequel or if we're lucky enough. One of the bigger game companies will pick this diamond up and release it for a gaming console.

Under rating threshold (show) For endings : between every mission, visit the Cafe, the Hangar and Lab. Double check every time because having a conversation in Hangar or Lab may unlock someone in the Cafe, so go back. Talk to Johnny every time in cafe and ask Johnny for Tips. After all tips are gone for the stats, new tips will appear to ask Johnny about the girls of the station (if you don't talk to Johnny in the cafe like everyone, he won't propose it). <> Hiding tip from Auriplane (music maker of the game) for Deadeye story : buy all weapons (even the hidden one in World 3)(thanks for the tip man, great game). My result : 1st time normal, talk to everyone every time, all johnny's advice. 5 endings + the basic "No..." one. Good luck. And yes Neferiti is in HM only (appears in Cafe in World 3)

Under rating threshold (show) Came back 7 years after beating the game the first time to finally get the special ending before flash stops being supported. This is as much of a masterpiece now as it was then. I did some digging and saw the developer was active and teasing a new game, possibly another game in this franchise, as recently as 2018. Hopefully they're doing well wherever they are, and while it may not be likely after 9 years the small chance of a sequel still exists, so we can hope.

Under rating threshold (show) Most of the highly rated games nowdays are only capable of amusing the player for a short period of time, or, to cause addiction. but here we have something meaningful that's worthwhile thinking and, may possibly change one's life. i am disappointed that some "gamers" disregard Starwish as a good game just because they don't get to kick asses, virtually.

Under rating threshold (show) To all of those still asking for a sequel almost five years later, there is good news. The developer has been working on various other projects, none of which are related to Starwish, but once those are completed still plans to continue working on a sequel to this game when their other projects are finished. By continue working on a sequel, I mean to say there is already some work put into the sequel. When it will come out is anyones guess, but the long and the short of it is a sequel is still very likely for this game.

Under rating threshold (show) brandonyo - I guess you MAY have played the first...five missions, and you're a shooter fan so a "story" would go over your head. The later levels are taxing on picking the right weapons for the right job - resources get tight do I upgrade saws or lasers? Or I guess I COULD level grind but wheres the fun in that? To the maker top notch simple game I will be finishing it at least once...
