I don't even know where to start about this game. It's definitely overcomplicated and the text is distant and not designed well enough to keep my attention. Overall, it was just too confusing at the start to make me want to continue. However, everything but the text and actual gameplay is quite well designed, and the music is good, except that it doesn't seem fitting. The developer absolutely has the potential to make good games, I've actually played some of his other ones and they were decent, but he's not very good at the tower defence/strategy games.

and another hard badge for me, the best way to beat this game is, first make every Level on easy and collect good weapons and gear for your Hero, then you can start making the first levels on Hard, it dont looks like, but a good geared Hero is sometimes better then a full upgraded tower. I also managed to beat every Hard Level without losing any Fortress Life (but it was close sometimes, my Hero saves it most time)
And a small tip: dont care about gear if you play the Hard Modes, it just waste your time making ressouces for your Towers

GAW FFFUUU! Here's a suggestion: make the QUIT button RED and give a confirmation before quitting... I would, no matter how hard I try to avoid it, instinctively click it thinking it was the unpause button...

Instead of random score-zones for the Hero's tools and gear; A Prefix, Suffix, Title system should be adopted.
*Last-Legs Hide Garments of the Lumberjack = Torso Armor (CprRnk) : +3 Protect, Durability -60%, +1 wood resource for every 3 tree resources collected while gathering in the Forest.
*Demascan Steel Sword "Einhaydon" the Hollows' Bane = -72 Damage, +210% Durability, +36 Agility, +45 Defense, +18 Resistance, +12% Chance of Counter-Attack
just examples... don't be angry me

I really LOVED the concept of the game. Puzzle + RPG + TD = utter goodness. Right? Kind of. Since you have to do *OMG_EVERYTHING_AT_ONCE* it does get a little confusing for the slow-minded-people (such as myself) :) I've read the comment where you said it was intentional the game having this pace because some people feel bored on traditional TD games. One thing you could do (perhaps not on this game but on a sequel or similar one) is letting people choose whether they want to do all-at-once or taking turns (resource gathering and then the TD part). Like on some RPGs, like Final Fantasy, where you can choose between Active Battle or Wait. That should help everyone!

While not the first to integrate RPG elements into a TD game this one has certainly pushed it the farthest (thus far). Still, to reiterate other comments, the resource management system takes away from the experience. Maybe reducing the dimensions of the grid to 6x6 may help. You should check out "Kingdom Rush". The developers' of that game mixed-in a lot of RPG elements into that game without making too much of an impact on the core TD mechanics. You might be able to draw a few pointers from how they implemented barracks and such.
However, when all is said and done, this is a great achievement (even more so for a 48-hour comp).
Apparently my experiment of putting it as a splash screen completely overwhelmed it. I'm going to attempt to move it into cloud hosting as soon as possible, but I'm not positive how long it will take. Sorry for the inconvenience!

I would like it if you could still equip items to the hero after you finish the level you are on, with so much going on I sometimes forget to equip upgrades and then the game is over and I lose them.

The only thing I don't like is that I can't actually see what's happening on the field, since I pay all my attention to the left side of the screen, realizing that if I look at the creeps and how my turrets work, I lose precious time I could've spent gathering resources.
I'm not sure how to fix this problem, though, I guess it's an inevitable part of the game.
But, as I said, that was the ONLY thing I didn't like. I love tower defence games and this one is original and really fun to play, I can't help but give it a strong 5/5.

absurdly overcomplicated and mind-numbingly stupid TD variation. the reason to remake a game style is to make it better than the original or offer something stunningly original to replace it. this game does neither, but is simply revolting. nice music, but that's it. what a waste.

if you could cram this game into an iphone or android it should be a hit! it's fun to play and the learning curve is very small so you should get good at it really fast.

dragging items can get a bit buggy at times...
@Kittyroocks: to drop, or delete, things from your inventory, hold shift and click them.

I really like this game... Sometimes I forget I'm not just playing a puzzle game and look over to see my towers struggling.. but it's cool, I've got all the resources to catch up!

I like this game. However, I don't feel that the puzzle mode is very puzzle-y. It doesn't take much thought. There's no chance to do combos (like you might have in a Bejeweled, Columns, or Tetris Attack clone). There's no bonus for matching more than 5 at a time. There are no special tiles. That makes it very twitchy, with limited opportunities for strategic thought. Just grind tiles as fast as your mouse hand can go.

Good tower defense, real refreshing change of pace, I like it. I do have to agree with others that I have no idea what strength and agility really do. Or defense... My hero just would randomly die when health hit 0 and I had no idea how that really worked. Also, the basic campaign seemed really short. That's great for a short game I play in the library for an hour wasting time but now at home I'm bored in the evening and finished :( Guess I'll try the endless modes!

Am I the only one to think this game suffers from a relative lack of control on anything ? The only strategic (and what a shame, obvious) choice is to get a basic trishot frost+curse tower ASAP. After that, since I lack information about characteristics, ennemies and everything else, I just mindlessly combine rows of whatever stuff, spam towers as soon as I have 10 wood, upgrade with great entropy, and pause to put random gems/stuff everywhere. In hard mode.

its a pretty fun game overall.
The gem placing allows us to combine different skills to come up with the ultimate tower.
but i would actually prefer to have more towers over the gem placing.
Simply because there are too many stuffs for us to work on.
At one point, we would have to worry over resources to upgrade towers, upgrade our hero, and also worry about the gems. Its like cramping every little thing into a game.
Personally, and also like what others have said, the thrills i find in tower games, is to see my towers kill the monsters and also at the same time, worrying over if my tactics would work for that wave.
Still a good game nonetheless, i gave it a 5/5 for the creativity. But there is still place for improvement. Perhaps a storyline?

Still early in the game, but I already love it :) I happen too really like the graphics too. I love how you twisted a matching game into tower defense. I am playing it easy mode first. But I am looking forward to doing it all over again normal, and hard mode. 5/5 for making so different, yet so very tower defense.

If a small shirt of mail made of mithril is worth more than the Shire (and everything in it), exactly how much are those mithril towers worth...?

I had completed 6 out of 8 levels on hard, took a break, came back and found out it hadn't saved my progress. Does anyone know why?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You should add skills that you can buy. Like for each game you complete you get 10 coins. And you can have reduce prices, more resources per match, more starting resources, more health for your king, and faster towers.

Honestly, this is by far the best tower defense game I have played. It is a very original concept, having something to do in the background whilst placing towers. As a bit of a suggestion, how about obstacles that you can place to slow or damage monsters, like a trap or something. Deserves a 5/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
A drawback of the resource collection mechanic is that you lose the enjoyment of watching your carefully placed towers obliterate everything.

And yet another amazing game. Wow! This game combines everything I like in these flash games into one ultimate tower defense game. 5/5 stars! Sequel? ;)

Alright game, added to playlist just in case. 4/5, nothing special, liked the way you have to multitask though. Thanks for the badge
