OK, 2 more suggestions: An option to highlight the last move (just in case you weren't looking and missed where your opponent went) and an option to see/copy the game scorecard (in case you had a REALLY good game you want to go over later.)

You don't really notice this until you hit a game where you need it, but there should really be a way to offer a draw to your opponent.

your computers all have expert ratings. you need a supernoob computer series, one with a rating of about, say 700, one of 400, one of 1000, and one of 1300. those are approxamently what you see on the amature circuit.

THE COMPUTER IS A HARDCORING DIFFICULT PIECE OF CRAP. Well i make about 1 mistake in 10 moves and it makes 1 mistake in 100moves.

The computer happens to play at about my strength, which is good. And the computer at least doesn't pick the same moves every time in the opening, although it sticks to about 2-3.

normally just it being chess i would rate it 4/5 because i like chess but this is pretty buggy so 2/5 because chess is still good

The chess computer runs on the server which limits the number of chess computers that can be run at the same time. In the next version the chess computer will run in the flash client so that everyone can play the chess computer at the same time!
GivenToFly, you have to describe what happened. The chess computer is not able to send invites to anyone.

Only one person can play against the computer at a time????? And then, when the computer accepts my invite, as soon as I try to do anything it invites random other players on my behalf?????

Once I know who plays with engine, I don't play them again. Engines play popular main line openings, but if the opponent plays shy quiet openings or odd openings, then I know for sure they are just humans. Engines don't play odd stuff

my opponent ran out of time but all it said was "MOVE 4042_R_52:1"...then with 3:13 still on my clock and having made the last move I wound up losing on time! This happens often. Sad.

@ Sych: 1) The computer program that I have almost always takes 1 second per move (unless the position is very complex); 2) You don't need to use it till the very end, just use it to break them (takes about 30 turns) and then play yourself; 3) If the above doesn't convince you, I challenge you to play a 5 min game with me where I'll be using my program :)

@ Nathan: actually it's pretty easy to use a chess program for help even if a game is at least 5 minutes long... that's why i always play 3-4 minutes

Needs a couple rooms set for different ages.
I mean I'm a good player for my age but a beginner compared to people that are much older than me.
