Under rating threshold (show) gold medals are too hard, some levels I make one mistake or have trouble with and it spoils all the work ive done

Under rating threshold (show) Kinda hard learning curve in this one, and the gravity, I know is random, but I had a ball just kinda hover between two planets and do nothing for about a minute before I could move onto another shot.

Under rating threshold (show) Ech, I need to retract my previous statement. Once you get the hang of it, it's a pretty entertaining game, if spotty at times. 4/5

Under rating threshold (show) Enjoying the game but it needs a 'back to main menu' button in the game. Really annoying having to reset the game or play it right through when you mess up on the first hole.

Sep. 30, 2007

Under rating threshold (show) Having no reset round button is a fatal flaw of this game. I agree with the comments than the gravity of the planets does not correlate with their size is also a problem.

Under rating threshold (show) Decent game, but some shots result in literally minutes of watching your ball shoot out into space, slow, return, shoot out in other direction, slow, return, shoot out in first direction, etc. Less realistic physics would have some benefit. Also would be nice if planet size reflected degree of gravitational pull. 3/5 with potential to be 4/5.

Under rating threshold (show) I agree with arch_8ngel. There's no link between planet and gravity making it a complete stab in the dark. Heavy planet = high gravity (or at least it should).

Under rating threshold (show) Fun at times and bloody infuriating at others which is probably why this is a 3 when writing this. Nice idea though and good looking.

Under rating threshold (show) My only gripe is that the size of the planets does not seem to correspond to their relative mass. There needs to be a way, other than trial and error, to plan a shot based on planetary mass.

Under rating threshold (show) Only thing i notice that I'd change would be to add a few 0's to the Hit distance so it feels like you are firing that ball thousands of kms to other planets and stuff.

Under rating threshold (show) And for everyone there saying things like "the badest game in the world" (sic). Do you have to be so impolite and rude with someone who's offering you a game for free without asking any question? I mean, c'mon, i understand you might not like the physics, the interface, the navigation... but you are not holders of the Only Truth, and I like to see how you would react if someone spoke like that of your job.

Under rating threshold (show) Hmm... Awesome game, but I agree with the previous comments that the physics need some work. It seems that the ball tends to fall toward the bottom of the screen, rather than always towards the nearest center of gravity.

Under rating threshold (show) I don't have a problem with the gravity. It is what it is, you accept it as part of the game and work with it. I'd add an extra star for a way to get back to the menu. It's FAR too frustrating for anyone looking to increase their score.

Under rating threshold (show) FunkyPear: Well executed; details like the achievements add a fair bit of replay value. The lack of a menu key / button or quick way to leave the current Round is a little obnoxious, especially for those trying for score. Keep up the good work. 4 / 5 stars.

Under rating threshold (show) I'd also like to take a moment here to step back and shed some perspective on the situation. The guy comes here and offers you a free game. The game isn't bad. It's perhaps not the most original concept, and the execution might be a little rough, but it's still pretty decent. It's not a 5-star game, perhaps, but things are pretty consistent and its playable. And you ungrateful lot come here to complain that he got the _math_ wrong? What kind of people are you? I mean, I can appreciate the differences in gravitational algorithms and all, but this is a *game*, not a freaking _physics simulation_. You learn to accept the quirks in the implementation as domain rules for the game. That's not to say he doesn't deserve feedback; you don't make fewer mistakes if you don't know that you're making them at all. Even so, the larger part of the "feedback" he's being given presently is angry, vengeful, bitter, and worst, _criticizing him for meeting his design goals_. I weep for this generation.

Under rating threshold (show) I do agree that the current physics make the game rather unpredictable--it's very hard to know how the ball is going to fly with any given trajectory and velocity. That said, I do NOT think that the gravity needs to be "realistic". How many here have ever played golf in space, bouncing the ball from planet to planet? Right. So, all the game needs is a way to help the player anticipate (either explicitly or implicitly) the trajectory of the ball. That said, I still gave the game 4/5, because it's more fun than annoying to play. :)

Under rating threshold (show) "the force of gravity DOES change as a function of distance." Firstly, the Scale is screwed, R^2, in everyone 1/20 of a second? I've shot high speed at holes before and got in, guess what happens? 1/20 is NOT fast enough to be as realistic as Gravity, basically, it is quite jerky...Secondly the difference in density is too great, besides, ALL OF THEM ARE CALLED PLANETS, so they will have some gravity that is STRONG ENOUGH and not just a weak pull...The game is unrealistic as it is, with the Planets staying in nowhere and not crashing each other and the DRAGGING because of Initial Speed is lower than Escape Velocity is really irritating....I WANT TO GET OFF, I WANT TO SEE MY TRY, I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO BANG THE PLANET TO JUST LIFT FROM THE FREAKING PLANET.

Sep. 29, 2007

Under rating threshold (show) Nice game, but things are a bit glitchy. Collision detection on the holes is iffy, and somehow I'm only able to get the first putt distance achievement, even tough I've had plenty of long drives. Once the ball traveled 4000 kilometers without going out of bounds, and I got nothing for it! Also, suns are evil. 28 ****ing strokes to beat the first level with a sun on it. Get rid of those damn things.

Sep. 29, 2007

Under rating threshold (show) There needs to be something that tells you how much gravity a planet has, size, color, a NUMBER, whatever. Also it seems so much effort was put into the gravity pull that you basically trashed every other law in physics. Inertia is very obviously not calculated into the bounces at all, and it seems to me that gravity is only calculated while going TO a planet, not going away from... if you know what i mean, because sometimes a planet will pull the ball in from across the screen, just to have it bounce away into the void. The bounces seem to be wrong as well, they go off at crazy angles sometimes, incredibly annoying. 2/5, try again.
