What's the point of wave 18? Got 29500 score and then got killed because of those 15 bosses filling my screen with projectiles impossible to dodge. Not gonna try again, the time needed to get 30000 score is way too much.

I really like the concept for this game! A sidescrolling shooter with a team of four units, selected from a list of classes? That sounds awesome! The reality? Every class feels too similar, except the ninja. Perhaps there should have been a greater focus on the weapons? Maybe a class that shoots infrequent, powerful bullets, one that shoots a rapid-fire barrage, one using a auto-homing missile, perhaps? As it stands, everyone shoots the same bullets, except the pirate and ninja. :/

great game! I love the fact that you can still move around after the round is over just in case there's still candy to pick up.

i mean honestly, having only one character type with a spread attack is bad enough, but having that character also be among the fastest in an incredibly slow moving party means the other character types are absolutely useless. no bullet spread is only useful if you can move quickly

coming back to this after a long time, I wonder why I gave it such a low score; it's exactly the type of game I normally love to play. But then, I start playing again and i remember why: terrible balance and unbearable slowness destroy an otherwise great game

Hard Badge: 4 ninjas, save special just to escape when foes come from backwards. Upgrade: candy full at first with one point in magnet > attack full > special full > health full > speed full > magnet full. This will work properly untill 32~34k, then you will be raped by the gunmans riding that cthulhu wheelchairs. +1 if worked to get the badge

I couldn't find any of these methods in the comments that worked for the hard badge so I made my own. I used three robin hoods and one cat. Fully upgraded candy before anything. Then upgraded attack and special. Use the rest to upgrade speed and magnet. Should be able to get 30k+ pretty easily with this strategy.

Great game with a wonderful 8-bit feel. Great enemy progression. Good music and gameplay, but I have to agree with NanakoM on how ninjas are totally OP. Nothing else can really cut it in this game.

Ability to turn around would be nice. Enemies can come from your back, aliens can hit you even if they pass you and those ghosteries that follow you can kill you fairly fast if they get close enough.

To get 30.000 points, I used 2 ninjas, a fairy, and a cat.
Wave 18 was almost the end for me, but I used my special JUST ENOUGH to get 30010 points before the screen faded completely to black. Good luck if this helps you.

probably one of the easier hard badges. I took 3 ninjas and one cat to boost ninjas with special. Max out candy drop first. Then Max attack, then everything else. Got 32000 at the 2nd run. Nice game 4/5

29140. Stupid mistake, let myself get boxed in by the shooters. 2Ninjas, 1Cat, 1Robot, Spam the special to max out your stats as soon as possible.

game has surprising depth.
Two complaints
No apparent key bind for pause
and the big one -> you cannot get rank/party upgrades except after death. This turns what should be a skill based game into a grind; quickly sucking the fun out of it.

I think this is great for what it was trying for-A fun little Halloween distraction. I thoroughly enjoyed the idea of a group, it fits with the theme and brings in the ability to mix and match abilities and stats based on your preference. The ninja is the public fave simply because spread attacks are a staple in scrolling shooters, but every character brings something useful to the table. Char select would’ve been much better if you see the character fire 4-5 times, then using their special during the selection screen. Also, the XP system does nothing but add artificial difficulty to the game, effectively FORCING people to grind out a couple ranks in order to have high enough stats to even think about beating the game. I would’ve preferred seeing the combat stats scaling much higher rather than having the bonus stats from higher ranks. That way you would actually notice a difference as your characters improve, and have more of a reason to take a character for their stats.
