Zombies, strategy, tech learning, classes, and Oregon Trail random events! My Soldier "Squeeky" lost 5 eyes over the course of the game! 5 stars.

I'm playing this on EASIEST difficulty and I'm low on food the morale SUCKS and there are hordes coming every freakin 5 days! This game rocks, but either I suck at video games (this is probably the case lolz) or this game is really hard. Awesome game though.

If I have one thing to say about this game, it is f***ing hard. It took me upwards of 20 tries to finally win on Harder difficulty. I'm not sure I even want to try Nightmare difficulty.

day 186: 1 guy left no food no happiness. everyone has died day after day for the last 120 days. every single new person is killed right on the spot from nothingness. when will this end?

Kind of repetitive. Although I'm not much for upkeep games, so That might be why I don't really care for it. Played on hard.

soooo a bunch of random citizens go to elementary school to be taught how to be scientist and cure zombieism or leaders to rewrite a constitution and reform to us government or soldiers to wipe out a portal to hell that's summoning hundreds of monstrous zombies.......I think I missed something in elementary school :/

This game does not have the best grasp of statistics. 1% danger to your fort? You just lost two police stations and four soldiers! 50% danger to your fort? You just lost an apartment! 10% danger mission you say? One of your builders died in a random event, and the other one had sheet metal fall on his head and kill him right as he finished.

THe ironic thing about this is that the zombies are going: "There might be humans inside that fort but if you dont get me some brains or flesh I AM GOING IN!"

Re: hard badge; My victory came after much frustration as well, but here was the strategy that worked. Heavy police/All-Mart defense, plus scientists and labs. It is clearly important to have a good mix of things, but after trying some of the other options, including an all soldiers "close-the-portal" build, and a blitz to the City Hall strat, I realized that Scientists would be the best. It takes so long to clear either the portal or the town hall that you expose yourself to A LOT of attacks. Plus, the upgrades from the lab help you reach teh endgame where you start researching the cure. I'd suggest this for hardest. Dare I try nightmare?

Seriously, just like Murasakimuma below, I have been attempting this Hard badge for over a year and cannot get it. While it is obviously possible as 11K people have obtained it, it is surely through pure luck more than anything. I have tried scientist strategies, defense through police and mall strategies, corner map strategies, mass expansion without food, find a cure, wipeout the portal, build a constitution......the harder and nightmare difficulties are just not realistic. Now back to trying. :(

Named my first character and exactly 100 days in I signed him up on guard duty with about 23 others, he was the only one to die. That creeped me out, but I still love this game.

Well, I finally got the hard badge. That was ridiculous. I had to find my save file and constantly back it up until I found the perfect method to win. There's not strategy in harder or hardest. You just have to beat the random bad luck they throw against you. Have fun.
