It's trying to be peggle, but isn't quite getting there. Still, it's a decently made game so I'll give it a 3/5 for effort. Better than a lot of other stuff I see here on Kong.

Ok, I fixed the sound toggle bug, and made the green ball in level 12 bigger and moved it a little down so the player's ball cannot go under it any more.

A level editor would also be useful, I just hate having to type in the levels ball by ball, into the code. ;) I'll think about it...

Sorry guys, haven't checked the comments for a while. Thanks for the reports, I'll try to fix those issues. Also I'm working on the sequel, it'll have a level selection, level unlocking, new kinds of balls, and will look cooler and behave faster. ;)

It seems like the high score list is a contest of who can abuse the corner trick the hardest. The score I have is from when my ball got caught on the first level where you need to change the red balls to violet balls... the blue ball can send the pearl under the green ball in the corner and it will sit there and bouce until it finally dislodges itself :( But aside from that, legitimately playing i can get about half of my current high. It's a good game - very difficult to be sure.

Sorry, didnt see that you could click the squid to explode the current ball (this reinforces the need for more in depth instructions)

Overall, alot of fun. I really liked the ''selecting the pearl and being launched faster + more points '' thing
I'd like to see some sort of instruction menu, level select, cancel shot button/command and perhaps, even a level editor (the last one might be a bit much) 4/5 Stars.

my black pearl got stuck between a green ball and the corner in such a way that it was impossible to get out. it was an easy way to get the high score but that kind of thing shouldn't happen. still i think it's a very nice game though.

Thanks Doinky! What kind of a computer you have there? I've got an overclocked Q6600 @ 3.15GHz so I really have no idea how the game runs elsewhere...

phooltk, thanks for the info! Argh, I'll update the game asap!
I admit the difficulty is a bit too high, and perhaps too many levels are a bit sadistic, I'll fix that in the sequel. :)

gj on the api, but the exploit I hypothesised earlier devalues it somewhat. Left the game minimised for a couple of hours to demonstrate (see high scores), if I'd done it overnight it would be about 50k+ probably. Just change that level or add something like a 20 hit cap on greys.

And thanks for the feedback guys! I'll take a little break from homebrew coding (like one week?), and when I come back, I'll make a better sequel to this. :)

Ok, v1.02 implements Kongregate's high score API.
Also, if you click on the squid (ttursas) the currently bouncing ball will explode.
And if you click on a level ball and the black pearl/ball hits it next, you'll get 40% more bounce.

Love the rules.
A degree of luck but having to choose to eliminate whites and the one-time bottom bumper add a bit of skill.
Should be linked to Kongregate's scoring API.

The ball life meter is off by one. If you have one showing and die, it is game over. it should be balls remaining in the shooter, like Peggle.

the thing at the bottom can be used once a level to kick the ball back up in the air. you have to drag the "fish" to make it so that hit hits the ball with its feet, not its butt.

There should be a way to put some spin on the ball, like in pinball. You can choose where to release it, but once it's out there, there isn't much you can do til it dies.

Its a good game (5/5) but you need a button to reset or delete the ball. I have been sitting here for a long time because the ball keeps hitting the same balls...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i like it. the little fish offers your ball a 'boost' the first time it hits it, projecting it back up the field of play.

Pretty good concept but I doubt anyone will ever *ever* beat the game. It's way too hard, especially starting with the level where you have to click on every grey ball to continue. The lives need to reset to 5 full lives every single level to make it more fun. 3/5 though, good job, its original.
