You need to study a bit more on airplane physics. Or play a WWII game. Planes that stall lose control, but only for a moment, once it starts heading towards the ground, the air picks up and it can pull up again. Sometimes you stall for no real reason, and despite doing a nosedive down, you cant regain control in this game. the two major complaints i have are abnormal stalling, and lack of checkpoints.
Just want to point out. In order for Sharla to win the survival tournament, you must give her at least one really cold water. You only need one, and it's for the last monster.
Some things you can probably do to make the game more enjoyable:
1. Allow units to immeaditly stop attacking and spell casting when a fall back or retreat order is issued; too often the human general (which has a seven-second long attack) is killed when I order fall back because it's still attacking when all the other units have retreated.
2. Give full view of what is in the tech tree.
3. Add sound options to the main menu and pause screens.
4. Add a 'HOLD POSITION' command! I'm tired of my units rushing forward all the time when I just want them to stay still..
5. Have the hotkeys toggle selection of units and spells so we can deselect them with the same button.
6. I've noticed that you have to click on the ground to cast a spell or move a unit; you cannot click on the backround. This gets annoing, please allow clicking on the area above ground to give orders.
7. Show cost of spells in battle without having to use them.
another thing, when ordering the human general to fall back, make him stop attacking first. when you issue a fall back command, that generals always still there spending 7 seconds attacking before he moves back, make it so he moves and stops trying to attack.
this is REALLY pissin me off, make a hold position button. i am so sick of my heros running into the dragon or out of a defensive line. i just want them to stay still!!!
It would also be nice if you could allow us to make a certain number of something when crafting items. Turning 50 potions into better potions takes forever otherwise.
Dude. This game is so well made i could see it on like a Nintendo DS. The controls already fit, the games detail and story and hours and hours of just enjoyment make it my favorite flash game ever of all time. =)
Listen closely to the sounds. Does it seem familiar? Does that curse spell sound like bless? How about that ding you hear at the start of each wave? Lose the game and you hear Sargeras laughing? I could have sworn i heard that same ching sound when picking up gold coin power ups. One of the dieing soldiers was doing an impression of a dieing footman. Those attack sounds from the necromancer seem similar to a priest's attack. When the Necromancer dies do you hear a pit lord yell? Look, it's fine that you used WarCraft III sounds, but you could at least credit Blizzard for it.
Some of the other death sounds are also a bit familiar. I can't quite place them but I think at least one of them is a hippo from zoo tycoon. I might be thinking of something else though.
Gameplay: B-
Gets a bit boring and somewhat repetitive. Game seems too easy, and there are too many simple strategies you can use to win every game regardless of what monsters there are.
Sounds: B+
While the music gets annoying after a while you did put some decent control over volume levels. The sounds are varied, though most are stolen from other games.
Spelling: F+
I suspect English wasn't your first language. Either that or you're just very poor with grammar. I know its SO much work for you to reread the text, but could you spell check please? These aren't just little errors, I have to reread it several times before I understand it. (See Senretsu's comment.)
Controls: C
I would like to be able to use the arrow keys to scroll the map, as well as a way to disable mouse scrolling as it can make it annoying to use the icons on the lower part of screen. If you don't allow for players to manually control their units, the least you could do is put in little bit better AI so that archers and mages don't rush out in front of your infantry.
Art: B
just the same backgrounds over and over. No change in music. At least the units look somewhat unique from each other.
