Ok. I figured out the flower thing, it wasn't a glitch. But then the game froze at the end screen, with all the rising cubes, and when I refreshed the page my savegame was gone, so I didn't get my badge! Aaargh....
So I'm at the very end of the game, and I have only three of four objects, one from each past. Getting nowhere. Resort to looking at a walkthrough. Ok, I need the flower. Use radio. Check broken window. I do EXACTLY as in the tutorial, and there is no flower for me. No bird outside the window at all. And because there is at least one known glitch (mentioned in a top comment) I don't know if this is a bug or if I am missing something :/.
This is so Murican... "We can shoot them in the back, because we're the GOOD GUYS! But they are evil terrist when they try to defend against our invasion..."
I don't get it... I hit lots of ships with my bullets, but none of them are destroyed. The bullets just seem to scrape them. And then I'm all out of bullets, and I have to refresh the entire page to try again. What am I missing?
This game plays like it was made by a drug dealer desperate to make up the cash he lost in a drug bust... You actually have to spend a ton of real money just to beat this game. And the developer will take away features and destroy the team you've built, without warning! Not worth the time.
STAY AWAY. Not worth it.
I got both of the hard badges the first time I tried the game. But only came second in the young mage contest, so I still don't have the badge of the day... Hahaha. Tells you something about my strategy :P
I still don't get it... You place bags of gold, but all they do is SUBTRACT gold when your heros walk over them? How does that make sense? You wanna keep the bags of gold to a minimum if you want lots of gold, is that it?
If you want to succeed in this game, take som advice from Arnold:
GET TO DA CHOPPAAA!!!!!
It takes ages to upgrade the weapons to do any serious damage, so go for the chopper first. It helps much more. And when you need damage, like everybody says: Go for the frag granade. Also: Upgrade weapon damage, not speed. Upgrading weapon speed doesn't help noticeably.
To get "Brilliant" on lvl 14 (part 2):
UPGRADE ALL DEMON TOWERS TO MANA DRAIN. Mana drain leads to banshee tower, which can knock the special effect off. You DON'T want the final ninja to run in fear straight into your nest (which he will), so DON'T upgrade to fearful crypt. Levels 20-30 are filled with ninjas and those evading arabs. Make sure you have mana for meteors here. Other places: Use mana for chopping down forest (to get cash) until the last few levels. After the last normal ninjas (level 47 I think), SELL THE HUNTERS DEN, so the ninja champion gets hit by UNDEAD towers (preferably banshee) first, before he uses stealth. Hopefully he'll be frozen, or loose his ability. If so just send 5 meteors at him, and voila. With a bit of luck and skill, this works out.
To get "Brilliant" on lvl 14 (part 1):
Start by placing towers on the mana spots. They will silently provide you with mana the whole time. You'll need the mana for casting meteors whenever one little buggar gets through. UNDEAD towers are the way to go on this level, but I like to build up some demon towers first, just because their damage is awesome. Around level 15-20 I recommend putting an orc tower right next to each entry, just to trigger ninja stealth right away (so they loose it before reaching your gems). Upgrade these to hunters den for max firerate.
Wooooo... Finally got a brilliant rating on level 14 :D. This level is tricky to get a brilliant on, because 5 fully upgraded meteors (400 damage each, 2000 damage total) will NOT kill the ninja champion at the end!
And here's a tip, if you really want to keep the kill count low: Throw your cat on the annoying green guy to get him running off the platform, then take the cat back (if you have psionic whistle) or run into something that kills you. This, in effect, moves the green guy without killing him. Some guys you just have to kill though, like the one guarding... Key 5, was it? You'll see. If he is physically in the way, and there's no way to jump over him, and there's nowhere for him to fall down out of harms way, he'll have to go.
I think I did the hard badge with about 10 kills, inkluding the stalgamites dropped on blocko. I know it was less than 20 kills. It took me 153 minutes and 51 seconds though, so kind of tedious...
The number "41" in the hard badge description was so unusual that I thought it was the minimum possible number or something. For all those frustrated at getting the hard badge: 40 kills gives you room to kill quite a few of the annoying ones. On the other hand: If you go one kill over, you're screwed... So I agree: A kill count would be good :).
Aaarrgh... Good game, EXCEPT that this is another game that DELETES MY PROGRESS WHEN I RETURN TO IT.
I'm not talking about within a module, I'm talking about being able to select module 5. I'm on the same machine, using the same Kongregate account, from the same browser, and I have not deleted anything locally. I was playing module 5 before, and now I have to start all over again... That kind of sucks :/.
And this is not Canabalt. Canabalt was smooth, simple, logical, responsive, just difficult enough, had supurb musik and effects, and was generally nerve wracking. This game is, I'm sorry to say, annoyingly tideous and boring.
