It took me so, so long to figure out that stat banners and spells are only temporary stat buffs, for units that are currently alive. Only level-up stats are applied to newly spawned units. So using a buff spell while you have more units on the screen than the enemy, it will usually be more beneficial, although buying a new unit is still often better.
Catching Shrimp is most fun. They gang up on you and there's lots of them. Swordfish are boring, because they spawn so slowly.
If you want to develop the game further, I strongly recommend implementing swarms. Lots of fish trying to stay together and Player gets to take a big scoop of 'em.
This was an enjoyable experience and I'd like more of it in the future.
Great feedback, I haven't heard too many comments about the gamefeel for the different species so that's helpful. Yea I like the idea of swarms too. I think the current pond is a good introduction but I'd love to play around with those concepts more. Especially say, a pack of fish that kinda travel in a big circle route and you have to intercept them.
I'm disappointed by how little this game progressed from the first version. And get some volume controls going. The sound is extremely loud compared to other games.
I can't complete a quest because I don't have any cards to do it with. I completely lack any Swarm cards that allow me to command units forward, so this quest is now blocking my board.Thanks.
If it has "Less than a second" remaining, that probably means the main game loop has stopped somehow. Check your console to see if any errors are there -- fixing it is as simple as a refresh thankfully (I'd do a manual save as well before refreshing however, as the autosave routine works on the same loop! I'm curious what's stopping the loop however.). Regarding the earlier bug, it checks for completion before you send them ("less than a second" means the time remaining is negative and it's just waiting for the game loop to check again. If you ask them to do something else, it will immediately do that check.)
I would have liked this game, but I am just left with dozens of questions. What is the difference in classes/races? Why should I purchase Darker Monsters at all? What do the upgrades DO? What is a sink, what is a throne? Which characters can use magic, what type and when do they do? I've had this running for three hours, refreshed the page and now my progress is gone. I would have considered playing it again, but because nothing is explained I won't bother.
There is no end to this game and it leaves me unsatisfied. I already dislike Idle games that take months to "complete" if that is even possible at all, so I was hopeful when I came across this. Game hasn't been updated in almost three weeks and nobody has found the Fiver, as far as comments are concerned.
Firefox 50.0, Win7 - my problem works as following, going with examples. I complete level 1, go to level 2 automatically. Then I click the "previous level" button, to go back to L1. I cannot return to L2, the "next level" button is not displayed. Additionally, I cannot open a Level-Selection menu. The icewalls slide in from the left and right, almost touch in the center, then slide out again.
Control buttons aren't working as intended. Level selection animates, but doesn't open a menu, instead it just goes back to the same level. If I choose to use the Left Arrow to go to a previous level, I cannot go back to the most recently unlocked, i HAVE to replay the same stage again.
Entertaining to play for a while, but it doesn't give me a feeling of actually getting anywhere. Now I'm left at a point where I wonder if I should keep going to see if there is an end, or if I should quit because there's probably nothing "up there". I choose the latter.
