f...ing too little game window. I always get killed because my mouse pointer gets off game window. the mouse = the ultimate anti-white-ninja weapon !
really fun game, anyway !
OK, figured it.
It seems I accidentally clicked the tree icon on my first playthrough, so I didn't realized you have to do it for the grass to grow.
Change my mark to 4/5 (because non-endless mode is too short)
I got confused (for a very little time) by the "click the wall to draw a pattern", since we're told about keys only at the beginning of the game.
Rather well done game, anyway, to my mind.
Hi. Thank you for your comment it motivates me to continue the development. I will let a small information about the fact that the player may use the mouse
Would be nice to know how every switch works before actually testing it.
Losing a level at the very first click just because you don't know it will trigger too much power beforehand isn't fun.
Not too challenging to me, but some levels require thinking and/or trial and error. Controls are confusing, though, and I wouldn't be able to play if I hadn't read the Q/A below.
Oh, I see... lvl 15... completely symetric map. Both the computer and me start on an uncolonized "100" planet... I start with 40 ships, computer start with 50... I can understand why I keep losing...
easy : can conquer every map with closed eyes. normal : stuck at stage 12. Call me lame, I call that bad difficulty progression. I'm fed off watching walkthroughs to beat a game.
Strongly need arrow keys to scroll the map, too. Right now, we lose really too much time adjusting this and that, and during this time, the fire keeps burning everything.
I wished I'd love this game, but I can't. That said, it's a really original one (saving tress and people changes from killing every single other being-one) and I'd like the devs to keep making this kind of games.
Maybe I'm too a casual gamer for enjoying how this game handles (or doesn't).
To give yourself more time to make decisions, you may notice that anytime you touch the map, the game pauses. Use that to give yourself time to think, or you can change game speed to 1/2x. Also, this game is 4 years old now and I've built two new version. There's FireJumpers Sandbox that is a cooperative multiplayer version and you can download it on Android/iOS or play online at www.firejumperspro.ca/sandbox/ I also recently launched FireJumpersPRO, a tactical training simulator for wildland firefighting agencies. That's currently on Android (iOS coming soon) and online at www.firejumperspro.ca/pro/ And yeah, cooperative play can be just as fun as fighting one another!
hosemen on the bank of a river doesn't obey the order to get back their hose... they just keep right where they are. I NEED the helicopter to keep the fire under pseudo-control and can't afford using it to get them where they should go. :( (Hawai scenario)
the Hawaii map is the first map where you need to use the terrain features in your strategy. I first use helicopter to carry the cut team up close the the fire, along the road (to the south) and cut north towards the river. I carry the civilian back as I return to pick up the hose team and drop him right in the tip of the river (the north river). Then try to contain the head of the fire between the two rivers. The bomber timer ends around when the head of the fire is at the most narrow part between the rivers. Drop the bomber's water right there and it should be a mop up.
Casual42 : you didn't read me well... I DIDN'T BREAK ANY ALLIANCE OR TRADE CONTRACT IN ANY WAY... Maybe thay hate me just for not having time to contract any alliance before they come slaughtering me...
Mostly, you won't win if you explore and find another faction first, since it'll attack you as soon at it sees you... losin 25% of it's forces while slaughtering 50% of yours... as soon as your first turn !
And if you don't find new planets right at the beginning, others will do, giving them a lot more reinforcements than you...
The way this game is done, no alliance or trade contract can save you if you start with less ships and (especially) less planets than any opponent.
