Just to add to the praise for the demo. I liked the hints towards Lovecraft (The Shadow Over Innsmouth in particular), although the story could go in various directions. You'll be clear about why it can't progress, but it seems a shame that it couldn't follow a game like The Darkside Detective on to Steam. All the best.
CrazyEscapeGames - living up to their name by raising the bar in weird randomness yet again. Oddly satisfying to crack it without a walkthrough; would have given 5 stars for a Monty Python Killer Rabbit moment.
Nice, with more logic to the puzzles than in Wonderland. My problem was with the small size of many of the hot-spots, and them being indicated in the text box rather than with a cursor change. It meant I used the walkthrough to find out that there were objects/spots I'd missed, rather than being actually stuck on what to do.
Sir Poopington - comments to explain that he votes down games because his phone service-provider charges him for data that includes ads that Kongregate shows ahead of 'free games'. Deserving of his own special 'Whinging Freeloader' Badge?
Spoiler for @XENON: it's the jigsaw they're on that's important - you use the numbers on the pieces with the cupboard's combination lock. (Blank side = edge, + = outward lug, - =inward).
Spoilers for @FarFromGruntled
- number of squares over perimeter length in 'sides'
- the colours are numbered as they occur left-right-top-down, so fill in the missing values.
"How are you supposed to know which code to use on the mausoleum?"
The stars are a constellation - use the code number from the chart in the shack that matches their shape.
Down rated to -1 on the 'mouse only' and 'point and click' tags? That's just factual. Hard not to think someone's been malicious. Trying to hide the game, perhaps?
A great installment, with the improvements to the Europe Quiz included from the start. As a European, past 30 I found it got harder to do looking at the map - I knew some states existed, but didn't know where they were. Could be good to add a 'reverse mode' clicking on named states (or passing) until you get them all. And Nebraska definitely needs to publicise itself more.
Yes, Crazyfist1989, the Vatican is an independent country. It's the one with the highest proportion of immigrants in its population (think about it). Which makes quite a good quiz question.
Thanks for the reply (and well done with the 'game'); nice to see Gibraltar located, even if it's not added to the target list. One fussy point, it comes up as "(part of UK)" which isn't right. I'd suggest using "(British)" as more accurate, and the same could be used for Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.
I wonder if you've considered adding membership of organisations, say radio buttons for EEA, EU, NATO or even "has won the Eurovision Song Contest" once a country's been identified? Things are complicated in Europe.
@Jeffe77 Thanks for the feedback. We'll use "British" in the next update. We're also thinking about extra game modes at the moment, thanks for your ideas.
Very good, and atmospheric/creepy. With some of the voice-acting already in English, translation of the text into English (and other languages?) would be helpful.
One glitch I kept having (with Firefox on a PC laptop) was Kongregate popping open a new tab saying "403 Forbidden" - it didn't crash the game, but spoilt one of the 'scare moments' - so, with a couple of fixes, I think it could be successful here if resubmitted.
I hope so, anyway.
Really good-looking graphics! One weakness is that things don't always work as you'd expect, for example level 7. Pirates on cart moving towards friend standing between two wooden wedges. Hit the back support so nothing falls on her? Nope, the round thing isn't a pivot, it's fixed - and the cart rolls through the wedge on it's little round wheels. OK, how about knock out the front wheel first? Ah... the cart isn't rolling, there's an invisible engine pushing it.
It doesn't ruin things, but does take some of the shine off the game.
@Jeffe77 Thanks for the nice comment :)
