Hey Kupo, right clicking to close the menu breaks the keyboard controls until I refresh. I don't know if that's something to do with my browser - Firefox, latest update - but it's happening.
@Atombender - Bat pet autoaims at all difficulty levels. @Xephan - low "difficulty" - aqua blue difficulty - not levels. @r6pokey - once you have the egg, go to special items in the item tab and click on it to summon.
...And, well, 8 years on, I finally got all the badges and finished the series. Hopefully the game never gets taken down from Kong, but if it does, I'll still be content.
Just so y'all know, Mardek 4 is never coming out. This is the last game in the series - the series itself got rebooted about 3 years ago and is now on mobile platforms. But it's still one of the most solid RPGs, ever.
Wow, this is bizarre. Why would a 3-year-old idle game get badges? What the heck? I mean, I'm not going to complain about how "bad" it is because this is honestly a giant of the genre, also I've been playing it since it came out, but honestly. What the heck. It's three years old!
All right, but the mirror is just one of three needed elements - you also have to bribe Bullock, to get info from him, and help Mylenda, to get info from her.
I laugh that somehow, 5 mins after publishing, the API is tracking the number of times VasantJ has playtested this game. When it's buried, we will forever know: it was 6 times.
Some bugs: Clicking is not instantly responsive, which can lead to frustration if you're using mouse controls in the fights. But the keyboard controls ARE instant, always so far, which is very nice. Artifacts: There are times when double-clicking doesn't work to equip items, but unequipping something else and equipping both items works. Dragging items also doesn't work, but DOES leave a copy of the image in the spot you released the mouse button. Which stays until you get into the next boss fight. At one point I also managed to duplicate a Fortified Helm six times and re-equip all of them, except that clicking away from the Artifacts screen and going back in removed all the duplicates.
Advice-wise... You'll want to get upgrades early, as early as possible. TP is a limited resource, so spend them as soon as you can. Get a medic early, then wander around healing up your squad. Combat Engineers save lives, too - not only with their ability to build trenches but with their starting weapon. A jeep can be helpful for both additional firepower AND a way to block off your men. You'll want to make sure your guys are surrounded on all sides by permanent cover - trenches, wire, jeeps, whatever. Stick your support troops (officers, engineers) in a bunker unless you're using them.
Honestly, this game is pretty fun. It's a slow game though, if you're playing it free - Ranking up restores your journey points, so if you're looking to enjoy the gameplay - which IS fun and tactical - instead of rushing for the badge, you'll want to hold off on levelling up cards that aren't in your main party. And you CAN'T rush the medium badge - it's going to take a few days (yes, because of artificial limiters...) but it'll still get there in the end. There are a few strats, but what you can do does depend on your card draws. That said, the green jewel summons are your best bet for good cards, and you'll make enough rolling through the leagues and the journey that it's worth doing. If you're just going for the medium badge, don't bother with the 1299 jewel summon - summon whenever you can afford the jewels. For the gold, save up a bit - the gold discounts every time you open a pack (by about 200 gold), so if you can get multiple packs at once, it's more than worth it.
There's a weird lag going on with this game in Chrome, which will occasionally throw the S's off entirely. After about...mm, four tries at the tutorial, all the beeps came at once, and then it worked fine.
After about six times, the lag happened again.
This game's a bit weird, because it's basically Simon Says, but unless you memorize the rhythm you're completely screwed, because there are zero cues afterwards.
Whoo! I've been waiting to get this Ragnarok spell for about three years! Thankfully that Chrome's re-enabled Unity support. Also I love that that challenge has been active for like four years now. I think they made a mistake somewhere, like a decimal point or something, but that thing's been there for EVER.
Just a reminder: Doesn't matter if we think clicker games are boring or what have you, other people enjoy playing this game. And Kong isn't the only platform this game is on. Go in, get the badge, get out. Kirby's tip is really helpful for that.
So, setting the game to the "software" setting means that I keep the money I earn after levels. Great. Only, instead of *adding* money to the count, it's now *replacing* whatever I earned the previous level. What a pity - it was a great game in 2013.
