This is a most intriguing concept. Although the avoiding point was random, I love that the script was interesting and it's something I would love to see more from avoider games; however it does quickly become repetitive, and there is a lot of time being wasted waiting for it to climb back onto the ceiling. Your graphics are clean and concise, but the grayness is a bit wishy-washy, especially with a very basic stickman which is meant to be the core graphical component. However the fact that you've animated the stick figure and the background shows keen commitment. Try giving some personality or expression which changes as he/she jumps. The music is pretty good, but because it is so fast it makes the game feel even slower. Add some sound effects for greater satisfaction. Overall a slight twist to a classic idea, but I have to endure some patience before the games gets anything close to difficult. ** 2 / 5 **

It’s good to see first submissions from honest developers. I usually enjoy a challenging and rewarding shooter that has been composed with both thought and effort. Honestly though I’m seeing more effort than thought, as the game really lacks any sophistication and actually has serious flaws. It isn’t a functional shooter since the enemies always spawn from the same point so in essence the only strategy is to strafe left and right of that point while holding spacebar. Also because the enemies swoop down instantly, this cannot really be an avoider game. However I can see some promise from you by the ‘effort’ and determination in your graphics. That background, with the swirling grass is fantastic, and the music is very suitable (if lacking the fundamental sound effects). I’d like to see you take some of the suggestions about upgrades and make some variety; if you did that then with your art skills there could be a real gem from you. But I didn’t enjoy the dire gameplay here. ** 2 / 5 **

I enjoyed this quite thoroughly; it's a well constructed game that maintains the awesome spirit of the original sonic. The execution is almost flawless too, with a variety of situations where you could win with multiple strategies. However there are collision detection issues. I manged to knock the 1up at the beginning on Act 10 into the coin pit without it popping, and it appears that direct head hits do not kill the targets. However apart from that everything is sound and functional, and although predictable, I do appreciate the original sonic sounds and music (although all games should have mute buttons). What makes everything even better (and more relaxing) is that lovely beach background with the wonderfully soft and peaceful ambience. I am impressed by this and it feels pure and clean, if a little lacking in the most professional qualities. **** 4 / 5 ****

Not very pleased with this, although I like target shooting games; you should really reproduce this genre better with different targets and a sense of danger. Try creating targets but with moving objects that cause game over on collision. The text is pretty, and the targets are acceptable, but this is missing so much wonder and glory with that dull lifeless white background. If you are serious about making games then you need to fill everything in. Also what can really bring a game up a notch is a great bullet sound effect, even if you download it from somewhere. If I were to move forward from this I would concentrate on giving the game some flexibility with a gradual difficulty increase and try separating the targets so that they appear with different timings. Get experimental and see what you can do, but please don't submit experimental games just to see if they work. * 1 / 5 *

You've gone for a tried and tested concept with your own physics and mechanics. The thrust is somewhat low, but that helps make the delicate turnings in the later levels. The added extras are appealing, such as the stars and scores, although I can't see where these statistics are shown. What I find weird is the reset once you leave space. On one occasion the rocket was off the screen with a big thrust yet it stayed in, while nearly all the time it would reset. Another issue is the escape pods do not require picking up again at death, which often made them pointless, especially when they are placed in numerously easy locations that simply require a direct thrust. I love the polish to your planets and objects, and the black hole animation is smooth, in fact the whole presentation is inviting. The music is ok (cuts when unmuted though), and I love the deep engine sound. You have a functional and playable game that implies gravity; just feels too heavy and forgiving. *** 3 / 5 ***

I initially liked the idea and concept. I've never played a game before where you stack objects while avoiding, or accepting, a collision object. What is worrying is the poor execution of it. I get points by stacking objects, yet the blue balls forces the cubes on top of each other in the side wall, and you also gain points for holding a cube up in the air. To completely have the tower demolished so quickly is slightly unfair considering the flaws i've mentioned. The graphics are very basic, but with some real texturing and a pleasant background this could be nice to look at. Audio! All games should have audio, and it must suit the atmosphere and feel of the game. There's a lot of work needed here, try considering using wind instead of solid physical objects and tweak the gameplay slightly to allow for alternative modes and difficulties. From what i've seen the unity system can make brilliant games so consider a well thought out and composed project.

I love shooting games, especially projectile shooting games. The concept of shooting birds to prevent them from coming off the side of the screen is fun, but I was disappointed to see that, apart from a points deduction, there was no critical penalty. What also makes a defensive shooter exciting is the promise of upgrades per wave that helps balance. These could include increased reload or more ammo. The graphics are moderate and unremarkable, although I love the smooth silver cleanliness of the birds. My main issue is with the lack of any audio, such as a countryside ambience or mellow feelgood shooting music. I personally would really love an animation to determine whether i've hit the target. Finally it's awesome to see rocks falling down from the sky. ** 2 / 5 **

This is missing many important factors. Firstly the screen does not convey the game properly – it cuts off at the top by one snake square and reappears about two squares up from the scoring bar. You could try creating a coloured wall and fit the snake in there. You should also present the snake with decoration and detail, rather than simple squares. Work on spicing up the background with a decent array of colours. Make the items that need to be eaten special and different each time. Once done, you should try adding some audio. *1 / 5*

This is a fairly generic but wonderfully readapted endurance and avoidance game. The presentation is fantastic with a quality button, a mute button and a pause button, along with a high score board. The graphics are a little basic but the animation and frame rate is very smooth and the main circler is truly professional. However the background is noticeably disappointing and could be a lot more exciting. The music is dandy but the collision with the triangles could benefit from a louder bumping sound. ***3 / 5***

Space shooters can be great fun, but this is missing major programming fundamentals. Firstly the lasers fire so quickly that I can just scroll up and down and swipe the board. Also the spacecraft disappears behind the grey exterior a very long way. The life bar needs fixing as there is no game over from losing all the life. The graphics aren’t bad but they could use some animation instead of static movement. I’m not hearing any audio at all so please implement some. You should look into fixing these important errors then consider adding new enemies and bosses – get creative. *1 / 5*

The whole game does show a lot of effort in its production. From the opening movie to the game itself it is presented beautifully and very admirably. The gameplay occasionally feels too easy; with no reloading time the player can just mash the enter key and shoot just as fast. The spawns also get too intense around the final ten seconds that aiming is not required. The graphics have been drawn simply and the sharpness is not very good, but this is quickly countered by fully competent object designs which are a little detailed. There is quite a lot to see {and shoot} in the environments. The sounds are mediocre. A voice actor would have been better than a programmed narrator in the opening movie. However the various hit sounds {eg cow, bird} are welcomed and help add to the experience. Overall this author has massive potential but needs to increase the difficulty and add some dangers {with a life bar} to bring this up from regularity. ***3 / 5***

Very little interactive gameplay. These types of games tend to show a great lack of programming effort although you have added various graphical enhancements throughout which do make waiting {or being afk} worthwhile. These graphics do have some details but advancement from stickmen is recommended. There also needs to be retry button. The grey button at the end also did not work and the music needs to loop. However the opening menu shows good presentation and this is a fairly reasonable example of this acquired concept. **2 / 5**

Definitely a pretty, articulate game that has been well thought of and prepared. The underlying physics work well although it is too easy before 1:30. Then the log tips violently without any real environmental cues. The waves all look exactly alike and don’t increase in velocity after the clouds are fully greyed. The graphics are gorgeous, though the objects are lacking some detail and texturing such as the clouds, but it is a matter of perfecting, not repairing. The sounds are very ambient; music should be considered though, something that reflects the changes in the weather. A variation in optional game modes such as different environments would have been great additions with rocks that jolt the log. ***3 / 5***

It is good to see the ragdoll back again, this time with a doppelganger – however nearly everything is a recycled collaboration of older versions. The animation and frame rate is fantastic and it gives the game the same fluidly feel that is hard to achieve. However the lasers reverse their course without warning and that is slightly unprofessional. Also the ragdoll and background still looks very basic and could use some texturing. Good special effects though. The sounds are mediocre and although I’ve heard this music a good few times already elsewhere, it does suit the game. ***3 / 5***

The concept is a little basic but the presentation is admirable with a fully optimized animated menu to welcome the player. The shooting often feels slightly misprogrammed but the real flaws are that cars on the middle and left roads are impossible to hit just as they come under the hill. The graphics are fairly good and atmospheric but the background hills could use some more texturing and details {eg flowers, houses}. The shooting sound is also tuneable but maybe some music would help create a buzz. The whole experience is also very limited and there needs to be more maps and more game modes. **2 / 5**

A poorly executed concept with little length and replayability. You need to implement something which gives collecting the circles some sort of purpose, maybe a timer which extends itself upon collection. The graphics have some minor details, such as a noticeable blue aura around the circles but there needs to be more shading and texturing on the background and platforms. You need a replay button as well. Extend what you have here and add some failure mechanisms, plus some audio {music and sound effects} and you could have something great here. *1 / 5*
