So far, having played only for a couple hours or so, my only real regret with this game is the lack of... scale, for lack of a better term. I would love to see a visual representation of my insect hoard as it swells. It wouldn't always need to be active or present, but I'd be able to turn it on and see like, how much of a planet I'd overtake with a hoard of my size as I got bigger and better. Something as simple as what like Plague Inc. has with the red mass spreading over continents would suffice.
Question: For what purpose are we able to upgrade our Research Centers from the Upgrade screen... while we are on the Single Heat Cell map? If we can't place Research Centers there, why bother leaving the option to upgrade them there? I've accidentally mindlessly upgraded research there more times than I care to admit simply because I'm swapping maps quickly.
I rather enjoy the whip-like qualities of the yellow string. Has a satisfying snap to it when moved quickly, and can even perform slingshot-like snaps after wrapping it around the circle. That could be further explored. Also like the small touches like crimping the string, putting a knot in it. Nice little puzzle game. Voice work could use a little more emotion to it but is otherwise not terrible (the purple voice especially, no offense to the voice artist).
I've already sold my soul to you, Kupo! WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?! My blood? My still-beating heart? My first born?! I love that you came back and updated this. Rest assured I'll be picking it up off of Steam when next I have the cash to spare! (Already got EBF4 and BH2). Saw what you've been working on for EBF5, and am SO VERY looking forward to it. Keep up the excellent work, you mad Flash genius!
... That moment when you realize you can press and hold shift to spam multiples of a single building, and control right-click to sell off ALL of one type of building.
I'm still waiting for another variant of this version of the game, with the side view. Even just a daily/weekly new maps thing, like the Userworld one.
I think it would be very useful if the "Sell All Power" button worked universally. Working for all maps at once, rather than only for the map you are currently on.
Here are my thoughts: [1] While I appreciate the costs of getting new landmasses, one of two things should happen. Either lower the cost, or activate an offline generation to the game, because I feel the costs are too steep to have to keep the game open just to get the village. 1mil to buy island 2, and I'm operating under roughly $33 bucks a tick. [2] An encyclopedia would be nice, so I know EXACTLY what these things to do. [3] More calculations provided about what is going on, both overall and when I hover over something. Mostly so I don't have to break out my calculator before buying something. Overall not bad tho. I could idle this while working on trig.
Well I did it. I beat the unDLC'd game. After doing so, I have to say, Matt's default build is just so overpowered! I tried to go through the game using the other characters but everything else in the vanilla game pales in comparison to Matt's unstoppable Holy Swords. Being able to start each wave by wiping out a good half the foes made short work of things, and made bosses significantly easier, as I could focus on dodging for a while holding the key down, then spam a wall of death after a short while. I'm not sure if the DLC characters will be better, as Anna was in Bullet Heaven 1, where after you finally got her, she was an unstoppable force. So I'm not sure if they are uber or anything. Still it was great, the music and jokes were great, as always, and I look forward to EBF5, Kupo! Expect my check in the mail on Steam, because you will be getting it. If you keep your games of the quality you've shown to have thus far, you will always have my donations, sir!
You haven't even mentioned this on your site yet, you scamp! :D When will this be available on Steam? Because I know a certain someone willing to donate to keep your work alive. (PS: It's me!)
Wasn't terrible. The Bear's taunts did get kinda annoying, as did his discussions with the Rabbit, but overall the game was alright. Wasn't really challenging, but wasn't so easy that you got bored halfway through either. Overall simple, but was a fun way to waste a half-hour.
Level 26 was particularly tedious, I figured a way to do it, but good golly it took a long bloody time! A fast forward button would be greatly appreciated.
That is the most MLG Mario I've ever seen! Seriously, no matter how many bills I fired at him, he SOMEHOW found his way to that goal! MVP Mario. I assume the sequel will pit you against Mario AND Luigi?
You start to feel good about yourself, you are starting to clear foes with relative ease, and taking little damage in the process. You got the best possible gear and just defeated Boss 18 in Hard mode and are all excited! "I did it! I curtain-fired my way to victory!" Then... Insane mode.. It's like the creator(s) don't want us to feel good about how far we've come! Haha! Great game as always, I almost forgot about the first one, but when I saw this on the featured roster, fun and torment came flooding back to me, and I have stayed up 4 hours later than planned just to see how far I could get. Great work! If I had to offer a suggestion, maybe cut down on the Dancing Flames' Pausing effect, or alternatively, give us more fire to dance with. The moment I hit a foe, all my fire is gone, and I'm left to awkwardly stand there staring at the boss. The heavy hitting orbitars (like the blades or the Sun) are AWESOME, and very helpful early on.
If I had to complain, which this series has rarely made me do, it is that I was kinda hoping it'd be another 2D, side-view'd one. Something about this series in 2D was really bloody fun!
Whups, amended (sorry little tired): Firstly, ignore my message if you haven't beaten the game, but don't want spoilers. I will be discussing how to get through the fog.......... Alright then. To get through the fog, you will need the "parchment" or poem titled "The Search for Silaug" (believe that is how it is spelled). Then while travelling the fog, merely follow the poem's verses. In the first area, wander the area and search for an "opening" (an area you can click) that has the sound of wind blowing, it is DIFFERENT EACH TIME YOU ENTER THE AREA (probably why you can't fast travel to the misty alley in town). After that, same deal in the next area (which is also randomly generated), and hunt for crows "crying in suffering". Then the sound of waves crashing on rock in the next, and after that: Bugs chirping (ie silence). Very brilliant, GameKitchen! Beautifully clever! + for the confused masses to see... or if you agree that GameKitchen is brilliant. haha

How am I not getting gems from Rubies, Emeralds, Sapphires... which are gems? Seems like a 100% chance that any fragment I chip off of one of those would be considered a "gem".
Just so you know, if you purchase the expansion here you can email me for a free Steam code later.
