Back in the day when there were actual wars, not just slaughters... Or, well, I mean... People slaughtered eachother, with none of the countries in shock over being hit back. Ah, those were the days.
Ehlo from France! And welcome to the new version of Nano War! This version has multiplayer, multiple selection and a level editor! Also new with this version: Your old savegames will no longer work! Blobs will get stuck and crash into the wrong things as they try to slide elegantly across spheres! Pause no longer pauses the game! Voila!
Please, multiplayer and this is good, but BETA versions, not first posted with Kongregate badges, please!
Grrr..... I was at level 12, and it gets hard. Then, all of a sudden, I reload, the game asks me to update my flash player, and all my progress is lost!!!
9 useful tips:
1. The "How to play" actually gives some useful info... I ran into it by accident after having completed almost everything, and it explained some things I didn't know.
2. It seems the speed you will glide through the air at when a pterodactyl (those brown flying things) drops you, is the speed you were keeping when it picked you up. So: Never stand around and wait for a pterodactyl. This makes a large difference if it drops you off from a large height.
3. Pressing up a few times (one might be enough) will cause a pterodactyl to let you go. It is possible to use this to get long dactyl chains, although just hoping for some luck and a bit of steering skills when you fall seems a good idea for those too.
4. When faced with steep hills, try to gain speed on the flat parts, and jump up the steep ones. You will keep the speed you had on the flat part, all the way through the air. Running up steep hills is rarely a good idea.
5. "Ptero Storm" has more than average pterodactyls, worms, eggs (each egg that drops from a dactyl counts as 10 eggs), and often: an ideal large boulder for an easy long boulder ride, and/or a waterfall (go up over the waterfall, and you will find pine trees with lots of birds in them, and fish in the water that follows). This is a level you'll probably be playing a lot if you want all gold medals.
6. Getting carried up steep hills by a pterodactyl can be useful, and absolutely necessary some times, but remember point 2.
7. The down arrow lets you steer a bit in the air, eat critters much more easily (death from above) and land without going flat after a long fall.
8. On levels with lots of walking dinosaurs, remember that you can run on and jump from their backs. Actually, if you don't touch the ground, landing on a dinosaur's back will not break a dactyl chain!
8. Use your shift key (speed boost) a lot, but don't waste it on areas where you're standing still and banging your head into something.
9. The bronto egg is at the end of the insane challenge. You will find it if you reach it.
That's it for now. Good luck :)
I've been playing this a lot now, and just got the impossible badge (woohoo! :D First impossible where I think more about the game than about the badge and points too). I thought I'd give you guys some tips (see next post).
Mafia: A speedrun beat on insane will give you a dino saved, as will (it seems) beating a speedrun you've never beat before (on any setting) and beating the challenge mode (on any setting). I also hear that beating the first level only in insane challange will be enough to count as a saved dino.
Ah, finally beat it... :)
For those wondering:
"My Neighbour Satan" is by far the hardest level in the entire game. I beat it after I had the impossible badge.
:)
I think Frank is his name. That dumb triceratops that always comes running into you, full speed TOWARDS the cloud of doom, just as the deathcloud is catching up with you on Planet D. He never was very bright, that Frank...
One Dimensional HarmonyDude! You just completed the One Dimensional Harmony achievement in Z-Rox and won the One Dimensional Harmony badge and 30 points!View all badges.
Woohoo!!! First I do the Vector Runner impossible, and ten minutes later this :D. Practice makes perfect.
Only problem with this badge is that my name on the "high score" list is "on", because I was typing "moon"...
