Very good; there's a couple bits, like the factory, which might have benefited from save points - messing up on the last crate is frustrating. Jumping feels a little odd, but the levels are built around it, so...
Also, it'd be nice if the level select actually worked: getting to level 4, going through a door... and then finding the only door that will open is for level 1 is really annoying.
If you have reached level 4 in game then you should be able to use the Level selection doors up to level 4, these have always been working for me, however I will try to improve the logic regarding this to improve the functionality.
This could really use an in-game mention to walk with WASD at the start. Also, is shift-down really necessary when there's apparently no other use for the down key?
The use of the WASD keys are mentioned under the controls option, accessible from the Game Menu. As you progress through the game the Arrow keys gain functionality, the Down, Left and Right Arrow keys without holding shift, for example, gain additional functionality on Level 7. The use of the Shift key, for Shifting through time, was also meant to tie into the name of the game.
Good start, needs a bit more variety, and perhaps a bit more plot to reveal with each level. It's a beta, so these are probably going to be done. Some music would add to the experience. Magnet doesn't seem that useful; with rare exceptions.
Minor bug: Does not gracefully handle CapsLock on the opening screen. Spent five to ten minutes trying to figure out why I couldn't get in when I pressed "U".
Good as far as it goes. Feels a little short - but then, I'm sure it's a lot of work. Like the lighting, adds a lot to the feel. In the Hall of the Mountain King is maybe a little too distractingly in one's face; I'd suggest something a little calmer, say, Ravel's Le Gibet ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7NKYvnjJcs ) or something by Satie. A nice first effort by all of you
I love it. The only thing I might add are checkpoints (particularly in the long levels with doors dividing them into obvious sections, and the secret areas) and some note at the end saying how many of the secret spells you found.
Good game, would have liked to have it be a bit longer, though - lots of potential left! I like the upgrade mechanic where you have recoverable limited-use upgrades especially
I do rather wish that the person who talked to you at the beginning followed up on his promise to contact you again. Maybe it's because I finished mining 10 rocks in the second zone, but I never heard from him again. It'd also be nice if there was a bit of an endgame after you beat the last of the pirates, as I liked the backstory.
i'll be adding all kinds of new goodies very soon. just a couple little things left to tweak. i need to redo the refinery page for item sorting. couple small tweaks on the jobs page. revamp the pilot view and then its on to the fun stuff.
You can restart in main menu. Don't worry, thats just one of the ends, everything is fine:)
