The person that said there's no way to add the Ring of Curses card to their deck may have been using a deck without a dark type character and therefore nothing to put the ring on. Just a possibility.
The 3-D display doesn't work as well as some for tower defense, and the text could use an increase in size and such, but other than the interface it's a pretty good game.
I've played every game submitted up until 07-12-08 in Strategy and Defense and I can confirm that I have played this game before under a different name by a different user.
Confirmed with link: http://www.kongregate.com/games/Daily_Free_Games/village-defense
Same game, but the entry is spelled wrong on this one. Defense is with an S, not a C.
Striking an object above you while going sideways should never send you up, against gravity, which happens to be neither the direction you were going or the direction the object is going, nor does the angle make sense.
Seems like a great game physics experiment. You could do amazing things with this engine and set-up! 3/5 for being short, but an encouraging word to keep it up.
I'd like to see some indication of whether it's you or your opponent that's having connection issues. Something similar to the red light on chat, but more sensitive as to what the server's seeing. I've sat there and waited for the little box to come up saying that my opponent wasn't responding before realizing it was me and it was too late due to a faulty wireless, etc.
Everything that I hit was a mistake, because you have to throw the sandal *before* the thing even pops up to hit it. Besides that, the game seems like a pretty good starter/banner add game.
Mm, ouch.
1: Tower defenses have been around a lot longer than W3's Map Settings were even dreamed of. If you really feel like giving Blizzard credit for *allowing users* to make TD games, site StarCraft, which was doing this before W3 was out.
2: Seems very clunky as far as TD games go. Repositioning towers is a hassle in some games, the only way to beat the hardest, and probably the worst feature in this one because it's required at level 1.
3: Mute is only a music mute, and that damn fairy is still there to rape your ears for each wave.
4: Text is far too small for even a nineteen year old without vision problems when it usually comes to reading tiny stuff on screens.
5: Exorbitant amounts of both lives and enemies make this drag out longer than it should.
Sorry, but as an avid TD gamer, I feel obligated to rate 1/5. Sorry for the rant, but that might explain some of the low ratings instead of just "Game sucks lol -10/5"
Just two complaints:
Doesn't actually have the number of levels it says, and therefore seems incomplete and shouldn't be loaded yet - and -
Doesn't seem like it should be in strategy and defense category.
Fix the previously mentioned little bugs and oversights, add a restart and a pause button, and fiddle with an API for it. Good job on keyboard shortcuts and basics, you have the making of a good game that gets overshadowed by easily fixable bugs. 3/5.
Step one: Buy only archers
Step two: Win
*OR*
Step one: Buy anything but all archers
Step two: Not do so well.
Pretty boring to be honest with you. 2/5
