And there are apparently multiple exits. And the "maze" is REALLY small.
This last thing isn't a problem, but clicking forwards and/or rewind after right clicking causes some really weird effects (like the timer counting down 2 seconds every 2 seconds instead of second every second)
oh, one small problem and another problem I noticed on replay:
The game doesn't end when you 'win'. The timer, though unseen, still counts down and so if someone waits five minutes at a black screen they are told that they lose and offered the option to replay.
The larger issue is that the maze ISN'T randomly generated and the exit is right next to the starting position (go straight and a little to the right and you're there).
interesting.
Graphics 5/10, 3D was interesting, but not really much else than that.
Performance 2/10 3D+Flash=broken. otherwise ok.
Concept 8/10
A first person maze game is an interesting concept, and starting the player in the center of the maze is a good way to defeat simplistic solvability techniques. The only change I would have wanted would be for the game to actually be 3D (as opposed to 26 with a blind system), thus incorporating stairs and multiple floors and such. Maybe pits and open catwalks as well. Windows in high rooms overlooking sections of the maze would be a cool addition. And the final touch I could ask for would be an extended user-activity interface in which various levers, buttons, pressure pads, and other objects are used (or left unused) to rearrange portions of the maze to make it solvable, and also a plot of some kind. Running in to other people (NPC's) in the maze could be interesting...
would be an ok game if it wasn't so unbearably easy. It is possible to get infinite money, lives, and xp on every level in the game. It is, in fact, easiest to do on the first level. This is kinda dumb.
(In order to do it,go into the building that has coins in it, get the coins, leave and do stuff, go back in when you run out of stuff to kill/get, repeat. You even get infinite keys, but they dissapear every level so...)
I understand that this game is pathetic because you have never made games before. This does not, however, mean it is ok to submit games this bad. You shouldn't submit things to Kongregate unless you actually think that they are good games.
Try using Flash to make your next game. Kongregate Labs provides a kit that includes lots of free graphics, and there is a section on the site where other users have contributed graphics and other media for open use. Building your own games through Flash allows much more customizability than using a game-making drag-and-drop site, which in turn allows you to make a higher quality game.
