VV01VD3R, it's a big city. Each area except the 1st has four territories, each with a different map: Recon, Clean-up, Tower-capture, and Factory-capture. The portal to Outside North is in the Central area, Tower territory, along the north edge of the map past the roadblock of crates (shoot your way through). The portal to Outside South is in the South area, Clean-up territory, in the northwest corner of the map. If you missed the portal the first time, revisit the area using Ramble, and pick the appropriate territory. Don't open a portal to an Outside area until you are ready; the Outside area will hassle you to little advantage for the remainder of the game by periodically attacking your main areas.
Fantasylord, an upgraded Factory produces more money per day. You can't bring an area under control (green fist icon) until both the area's Tower and Factory are level 3. The game screen is poorly worded (I believe it should say "revenue" not "cost"), but I think the Business upgrade is a multiplier that puts more of the Factories' total revenue in your pocket (60%, 80%, 100%) rather than having it go to waste. So it is worth both upgrading Factories and getting the Business upgrades.
Rwasimpson, the Outside areas can't be subdued. They are mostly a nuisance gimmick to add a Survival mode to the game. Don't activate the Outside areas at all, unless you have finished the game and are hunting Achievements. Outside South has 2 ATMs and 2 hiding places to find. Otherwise all you can do in an Outside area is survive for 5 minutes (to get that Achievement) and then leave the area. One way to survive is to mind your own business in a quiet corner. If a Boss shows up, shoot him with Rage so he'll attack other nearby zombies rather than you. After 5 minutes of this you can have 3 or 4 raged Bosses fighting each other!
Zeon, the game is played map by map; you can't penetrate a black border; finish a map to proceed to the next map. For Avenue Of Approach (the 1st map): 1. Kill zombies until text "Kill some zombies" turns from yellow to green, 2. Kill more zombies until text "Kill the rest" turns from yellow to green, 3. Walk the edges of the map and destroy barrels (for extra money), 4. Click the green "Jobs done" text to finish the map.
I destroy all the barrels in a neighborhood. When I later return to the same neighborhood, all the barrels are back. I destroy them again. They come back again. I'm beginning to think that the barrels are the true zombies in this game.
Has anyone found all 10 cisterns? I only found 8, in these areas: West tower, Central recon, Central tower, South recon, East recon, East tower, East factory, Southeast recon.
You don't need Achievements to earn the Hard badge. But if you are hunting Achievements, search "decision 2 map" on Google Images and you will find a large jpg map of the entire city. It shows the 7 main areas and their neighborhoods (recon, cleanup, etc), the locations of the 7 additional Warehouses (must find all 7), the 40 ATMs (must hack all 40), the 76 Hiding Places (must find 60 of them), and the 2 portals to the Outside. It doesn't show the locations of the 6 Factories or the 10 Cisterns. It is a bad habit to destroy ATMs (or barrels near ATMs) for money, because if you accidentally destroy just one ATM before you have hacked it, you won't be able to get the ATM Achievement. Cisterns are the big radioactive water tanks; be careful to stand far away when you destroy them.
After a heavy firefight, one dog somehow ended up in the "shadow" portion of the map along the left side of the game window. He barked and followed my movement, but he couldn't reach me and I couldn't shoot him. Stalemate. Poor zombie doggy, destined to spend the rest of his days in the shadows...
To get the Hard badge, get game progress to 100% (all towers at max, all factories at max, all main areas controlled at 0% danger), then click SUBMIT SCORE. You don't need to finish all Achievements to get the Hard badge.
Ranching: Build 2 pens, buy Cows until each has 2+ Cows, then as Cows breed Cook back down to 2 Cows per pen, also buy Cows at Market to Cook and sell Meat for quick profit.
Terrific game. The tips provide a tractable learning curve even without a tutorial. I like that it has a beginning, middle, and end. Now just allow us to dig up the bones of our ancestors and convert them into fertilizer...
Silver = 5, Gold = 10, Green Luck = Double Your Money, Hammer = Lose All Your Money. Levels are too long. Needs a mouse pointer. Way too laggy for such a simple game.
Reminds me of that classic game "Tuer Tuer Tuer". Except in that game, when you wounded a target, they would attempt to crawl off-screen before you could finish them off.
I wonder if anyone's noticed only 1 person can starve at once. I think the survivors eat him.
