Not bad. Needs more than 3 levels. Needs randomization so the game doesn't play the same way each time. Mute should stay muted between levels. Some of the larger objects (especially the green seaweed on level 3) don't look much like their thumbnail.
This could be so much better: 1. Allow the difference to be clicked in EITHER the Left or Right panel; 2. Eliminate the timer since this ruins the game for many people; 3. Simply "undo" each clicked difference, rather than putting a huge blob on the panel. 2/5
It is OK. When a number is found, it should disappear from the picture. A hint mechanism would be nice -- it is frustrating looking for the last 1 or 2 numbers.
OK, mystery solved. The yellow words are special. When you clear a yellow word, it also clears the entire row. This only counts as 1 word, but it is a handy way to clear words quickly if your board is in danger of filling up.
The game is definitely more fun to play if you use the hot-keys, rather than losing time by constantly scrolling the map and manually selecting units. Another good habit is to always hit SPACE (deselect) before hitting 1 or 2 to select another group of units. This way, the orders always go to the group you intend, rather than sending a group to the wrong place on the map.
It should allow you to choose the difficulty (Beginner, Intermediate, Expert) explicitly, and perhaps also an optional suggest-a-difficulty feature where you type in the first word. Sometimes untyped words (an entire row, or just some random set) vanish from the board. Is this a bug or a feature? The word comparison should be case-insensitive! Accidentally hitting CapsLock is a killer, when you are watching the board not your typing, you are typing correctly, but nothing is matching! The decorative frame at the edges of the board should be made smaller, so it doesn't obscure some of the 6-letter words.
Very nice game. It is nice having multiple words on screen, so you can choose what word to type, and you can type multiple words quickly. You also have the extra challenge of keeping each word column from getting too high. Also nice is that it is quickly challenging, rather than having to wait for the difficulty to ramp up. Expert levels 9 and 10 are challenging. It is nice that you can retry a level, rather than simply Game Over. The obscure and naughty words make it more fun.
Danika, if you build 1 Mineral Processing plant, you will gather resources TWICE as fast. If you build 2, it will be 2.75 times as fast. Building more than 2 adds little more. On most levels, I build one Mineral Processing plant, and it is the second building I build (after power). At the highest levels, you get attacked quickly, so you have to build defensive tower(s) first, then the plant. Enjoy!
TheTesseract, I agree the window shows too little of the playing field. But I found if you assign the number keys to teams of units, the game play is much easier. For example, I'll assign the '1' key to a team of 8 tanks (shift-1), and the '2' key to a team of 2 repair vehicles (shift-2). Then simply 1 for attack, then 2 to repair the tanks, etc until victorious. The game takes a while to complete, but I still wish there were more levels.
Luisjose99, I'm not sure what you mean by "tracks". On the first level, in the upper-left corner of the map, there is a stone bridge. Is this what you mean by "tracks"? This bridge doesn't go anywhere, so it's not important for this level, and can be ignored.
Kerimacus, in the Options window, turn Mouse Scroll to OFF. That may help your screen-movement problem. Also, click somewhere on the game's terrain before using any arrow keys. That will ensure that the arrow keys are "seen" by the game window, rather than by your browser window (!).
Hotkid, you can repair your buildings. Click on the Repair (tools) icon, then click on the building to repair. The building will heal over time (fairly quickly, actually).
