in the first set of tutorial type pop up windows, there is a mistake. The box starts with "So, your main goal ..." and the error is at the end "...in a just a sec." should read "in just a sec."
Great game, had fun exploring the island and collecting all the cards. A couple of issues though, firstly moving the mouse caused the view to glitch back to where it started and I could only move the view while the character was moving. Second, once the game ends and you click continue it crashes. It would be nice to be able to play against some NPCs after you end.
You've got a good set of base mechanics here. Moving forward you need to add goals and a story. A reason to play the game and push forward into the later parts of the game.
neat little puzzle game. Needs some polish though. It would be nice if rather than having a separate tutorial there was some text on the level where each new feature is revealed. so on the first level, you could have the controls under the player, under the platform say hit all the platforms to unlock the exit, and by the exit say exit the level here once unlocked. On the second level point out the this side good and this side bad of the platform. On the third level point out the extra jumps gained from platforms with arrows and the jump number on the player. The fourth level say you need to hit green platforms twice and point out the platform hit count on the exit. Other things that would be nice are mute and menu buttons. It would also be nice if your progress was saved level by level, as it is rather annoying starting at the beginning of a world if you hit pause. With those things fixed it would be an even better puzzle game.
Thanks for the feedback, we just updated the game to have a tutorial on the first few stages that are relevant and also added a save feature (still at the start of the world for now).
The world select menu is quite raw atm and will be remade eventualy.
Also the game can be controled with arrow keys now.
If you find anything else we would be glad to listen, thanks.
fun little game with an interesting story. A few things that would make it much better would be: 1. Having some in-game instruction that says the number keys select the hero (only figured it out after finding it impossible to beat the boss). 2. Rather than throwing you back to the start screen putting you back in the level select room or some overlay which says space to replay as it is just frustrating having to wait to get back into a level. 3. The last thing that would be nice is a little more player feedback after completing levels, say congratulating the user for getting x piece and saying they need to get x piece next. Basically to give the player some motivation to keep on playing.
Neat idea for a game. Would be more enjoyable if there was some kind of story or goal. I survived long enough for the music to stop playing so you might want to fix that. It would also be nice if you could go to the straight to the shop after dying and from their back to the game. The window comes up with scroll bars which is kind of annoying.
It's a decent brick braker game. The particle effects are a nice touch to the game. There are a couple of things that could be improved on though. It's annoying when the mouse goes out of the top/bottom of the screen, so it would be good if the game paused, locked the vertical movement of the mouse, or you made some kind of cursor visible. Another annoying thing is having to start from the start of the game. It would be better if you could stay on the level but with some other penalty like only having one life, losing ammo or upgrades. Alternately you could put a checkpoints in so you would start from them instead. Also it would be good if you had a mute button for the background music.
This is in reply to your message regarding a sequel. I think it would be great to have a Pingy sequel.
Firstly pacing is important to keep the player interested in playing your game. A good way to pace your game is by making sure there is always an achievable goal in front of the player.
Another important feature is to make sure game play evolves over the course of the game. This means having new mechanics and different things to do as the game goes on. It also means giving the player multiple ways of achieving the same goal as they have a sense of choice.
One more important feature to take into consideration is giving the player something to create. In the sense a long term goal to build on. This would generally be the thing that every part of the game helps you to build and create. It gives an overall sense of purpose to the game.
Good luck in making your sequel I look forward to playing it.
advanced upgrading. Now with the much more complicated feature of buying multiple items. This is for use of experienced players only you have been warned.
you left the test button in the game i highly recommend you remove it. But other than that its a fun little platforming game. Also an ending for collecting all items would be nice.
I've noticed a bug when getting an item from a chest in a dungeon. That if you click on equipment to soon after receiving the item the game will crash.
It definitely has the making of a good game. I found a bug at the end if you enter then exit the board a couple of times it seems to glitch the game so as you cant play. Also the Ai for the enemy needs improvement as all they seem to do is spam units and don't make much of an obstacle. Also because by leaving the board all units are reset but the captured nodes remain kept making the Ai's taking very easy to beat.
Agreed, the AI is a bit dense as of now. Only a few tactical goals have been defined for it, and defending the nest seems to overrule everything else.
Getting the mechanics to work currently has higher priority than balancing difficulty.
in tip calculator there are two questions that caused frustration. First was making the salesTax you don't mention to have the type of Number in the variable. Second was for the variable tax amount the fact that tip has to come first should be mentioned the actual question. please prevent rage quits the programmers lives depend on it.
I just found out that i am incredibly stubborn. Awesome game in almost every aspect. Except one the double jump kept not working on occasions. But apart from that excellent game
Thanks for reporting both issues and for that great suggestion! I'll work on those!
